blutooth not working - General Questions and Answers

hi devs.
i have samsung galaxy core2.
i dought it and the next day i flashed CWM recovery and rooted my device.
i did a nandroid backup just after rooting.
after 4 months or so i was trying to make a lollipop rom for my device using kitchen.
i needed a base rom so i used the boot.img and system.ext4.tar.a from my nandroid backup and just make a working folder out of that.
did nothing with that stock rom just provided a correct update binary and flashed it on my device.
every thing works as i have a device just out of box.
but only bug i get is bluetooth is not switching onn.
need hint for error where should i check for that.
is that a misplaced siblink in updater script or any think else.
thanks in advance

[Q] Cyanogen back to Stock ROM

I'm on CyanogenMod7-7.0.3-NS right now but want to go back to stock 2.3.4 as wavesecure is having issues with Cyanogen and can't verify my sim.
Baseband version: I9020XXKD1
Build Number:GRI40
Will this guide work for my Nexus S? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061855
Sorry newbie here, just want to be really really sure as I followed a poor guide somewhere and got stuck up with the google logo and lock on boot, hence was forced to install cyanogen.

Okay..so to close my question. I just followed this and everything went back to stock.
theunlockr.com/2011/01/20/how-to-unroot-the-nexus-s
1. followed the link above.
2. I remain rooted but recovery went back to stock. no more clockwork.
3. after booting, was alerted of a 2.3.4 update..so I updated again.
4. marketplace has been upgraded to the new interface (probably bec of the update)
5. to install screenshot app and fontchanger..I needed to have super user, so I just installed Clockwork (recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-) again and installed SU (su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip) via SD card install.
6. so far, everything's good.
If you have some questions, feel free to ask.

thanks! I have made a nandroid backup but I think I may have a corrupted boot.img.
Where can I get a stock rom? Is the one from the link I posted good enough?

Is there a way to return to stock while keeping CWM ?
You can stay on stock rom while you are rooted. You can google it. I got my 2.3.4 from ardoid.com
Its a stock rom with added arabic support. Since you dont need arabic. It wont make any difference to you.

I'm not asking for keeping root, only to revert back to stock while keeping CWM
Clockworkmod will stay on your phone. As far as i know, all your phone recoveries will be done through cwm

I read somewhere that flashing a stock ROM will restore the stock boot/recovery. Is it true ?
That i cant answer u. But i can say that i went back and forth between roms. Reverting to stock when needed. CWM stayed on my phone.

For some reason when i have booted into recovery, and then i select to reinstall data files., i get a permission error. Has anyone ran into this problem before. Also what is gingerbread and ice cream sandwich, do i need to update my phone to one of these dor i can install rom or are those rom themselves. Im totally lost and new at this, so any help would be great. Can some point me in the right direction.

My phone already rooted is there a way to update from froyo to gingerbread without using kies? Also i copied my efs file but it seems to have nothing in it? Why?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA
If you're rooted, follow the guide in the second link of signature - flash with bootloaders - then go back to the first guide for help flashing a custom ROM in CWM.
After you flash bhunven's KJ6 Heimdall One-Click make a nandroid backup in CWM to have a copy of your efs folder and copy to your computer.

Stock ICS for Blaze?

Hey guys! Maybe I am really bad at finding stuff, but could someone clearly post the stock ICS software for the blaze? For all the recoveries to go back to stock, I keep finding the gingerbread ones. I currently am running CM 11, and if anything goes wrong, I know that I need to use the ICS recovery, rather than the gingerbread one. Thank you in advance for helping a helpless noob! XP

This is what I used for a cwm flashable stock ICS ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2329081
For recoveries they should be listed in the blaze bible

FOR EVERYONE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS RETURNING TO STOCK FIRMWARE READ THIS
So first register at www.sammobile.com, then search SGH-T769 under firmware and download the August 2012 ICS or The Feb 2013 ICS Firmware, wait for the download to finish (took me 30 minutes) then extract which ever firmware zip you downloaded then using Odin click on PDA and select the .md5 file which is located in the extracted ICS Firmware Folder that you've downloaded from sammobile.com
Download the PIT file here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
Click on PIT in Odin and then select the one downloaded from the link above
Edit: I believe the pit file download link at that thread no longer works but if I remember correctly the pit file isn't needed (it's not do or die) you can continue without it your phone will be fine
then make sure re-partition isn't checked and start the flashing process after it is done flashing and reboots you'll have stock ICS.
*IF YOU WANT TO ROOT IT READ BELOW*
to root it simply follow the instructions over at the root ics stock thread found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919228
This will flash a custom recovery and once the recovery is flashed using Odin reboot into recovery and flash the superuser.zip then you'll have Rooted Stock ICS Firmware
*BOOT LOOP MIGHT OCCUR*
To fix boot looping after flashing stock ICS just boot into stock recovery and wipe data and cache then reboot or on custom recover wipe cache and dalvik cache reboot and you're good to go.
If I helped you in anyway don't be afraid to hit thanks!

Thanks a lot man! I was rooting my mom's phone (we all got blazes... Go figure!) and ran into an issue when I ran into a bootloop the first time I tried rooting... When I tried undoing the softbrick, I accidentally loaded the gingerbread stock back on, rather than ICS, and found that her SD partition was inaccessible. Thankfully, using the stock ICS, I reverted back to it and then rooted again when done with that. She's now on ProvisionMod, and its running smooth as butter! I was hesitant to put her on Kitkat cuz I know the camera bug still needs to be worked out... But when that's fixed, I plan on putting her on something like CM 11 when its all said and done. Thanks to all the helpful developers who made all of this possible! You guys are the best!!!!!

[Discussion] Downgrading From 4.4.4

I'm making this thread so we can all put our heads together to figure out what we can do, what ways there are to get back to stock.. Just things people have done to restore back to stock.
Everyone having this issue people post here please as it will keep the Q&A thread clean.
At the moment I am encounter the issue, although I am not in a bootloop. I had a Official Firmware 4.4.2 installed that had been updated to 4.4.4.
Everything was working properly, but I flashed the latest CM11 Nightly. I had forgotten to backup my stock.
When I try to restore a stock firmware it Fails on partition so I didn't Want to chance flashing anything else in case I bricked my phone
At the moment my phones living off a CM11 TWRP backup which isn't ideal :/

I can share a 4.4.2 cmw backup but my net is slow as fk. I successfully downgraded using cmw backup.I think there is some problem with the mount points of the stock . I had this prob of not able to format or write using recovery and fastboot in my Chinese s4 clone but I formatted all partitions using the flash tool that I had and than I was able to flash ROM. It occurred because I had given wrong mount points in the update script of the ROM that I had previously flashed

Unable to mount efs on Galaxy s advance

Last night I was installing Cynongenmod 12 lollipop on my Samsung Galaxy s advance Gt I9070 JELLYBEAN Indian version. I used v-root to root my device and took up backup of efs from efs professional, then I was installing Clockwork Recovery from my SD card via recovery mode and something went wrong, it was unsuccessful and from here my problem begins, when I was retrying to install cwm I noticed a error message that "unable to mount efs (Invalid Argument ) " I haven't noticed that and was busy on lollipop instalation but when it fails then I decided to revert back on my sweet jelly bean then I flashed my mobile using Odin to official jelly bean every thing went fine but when I restarted my phone on jelly bean then I saw two errors :-
1 . gapps has been stopped
2. Samsung setup wizard has stopped
After noticing these errors I downgraded to gingerbread and I can connect to WiFi, mobile network and can view my imei no.
Also I have tried to restore my efs using efs professional tool on running gingerbread but it fails.
"CAN ANYONE HELP ME, I WANT TO RUN MY OLD JELLYBEAN"
I have tried almost every thing Like
restoring from adb
Installed cynongenmod kitkat
Installed twrp and cwm so that anything hits up my luck
But didn't get success.
Please help..........

You should do a nandroid backup before doing anything
OK flash your stock ROM via Odin but different version!
Try installing a custom kernel!
In most cases its kernel prob!
If these doesn't help you
Uninstall gapps and install gapps manually:good::good:
Thanks for the reply
But there is only one stock rom available that is jelly bean and I have already tried it and also flashed a custom kernel (TWRP) but nothing helps.....
And it's possible to uninstall gapps manually from stock rom.....

Yes,
I had downloaded stock rom (jelly bean) from www.Sammobile.com and then flashed it using Odin.
I am only stucking at setup wizard which giving me error "unfortunately Samsung setup wizard has stopped" if I will bypass this wizard then, I think everything will be fine and I had also tried the "4 corners tapping trick" but it also didn't help me.
Buddy do u know the build.prop editing
It may help u there are some codes available if u tweak the build.prop you can bypass it
Sent from my GT-S5830i using XDA Free mobile app
Know little bit about build.prop editing
But, I don't know how to edit build. Prop on my Galaxy s advance if I can't go to main screen because, I think to edit build. Prop setting I have to install some apps.
Can you please refer me a guide
Try other version of your stock rom
Example
Currently im running galaxy ace s5830I
2.3.6 gingerbread stock rom
But there are some different release available
Like 2.3.6 GINGERBREAD XXLA1
2.3.6 GINGERBREAD XXLA2
2.3.6 GINGERBREAD XXLA3
Those XXLA 1,2,3 ARE different release of my stock rom
