Hello,
I have being having some troubles with my oneplus one. Today I recieved a notification saying that a new update was available so i downloaded and tried to install. However I didn't realised that i had installed the twrp so i was unable. As i wanted the official update I installed a stock recovery and try to install the update, but it failed. Don't know why it failed... i assume that maybe i didn't installed the appropiate stock recovery. However i finally installed the update by using the "apply update (option in the recovery)" to the official zip file i had previosly downloaded. My question is, for the next update will i have to flash it or just a normal OTA update? (i think that my problem was that the stock recovery was not the appropiate, so I just wanted to know if my recovery has been updated to the appropiate one with the manual update)
Another thing what does the lcd density option does?
Thanks, sorry for my bad english if you don't understand please ask me

I can answer only one question
LCD Density: This feature allows you to change your screen look, that is, if you lower the density from 480(which is default) to 380, you'll find all the icons & text becoming small in size and allowing you to view more information on your screen.
And if you increase the density from 480 to 5XX, your text and icons will look big, allowing you to view less information on the screen.
I am currently on KK with 380 LCD density.

If you want to really try this feature, decrease it one by one and reboot your device, you'll find some change in the views.

My Focus 1.3 still wont detect the retail updates via zune so I am trying to use the manual update featured here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306415
However, after it does a bunch of installing and reboots my phone I get an error indicating 'two or more packages contain the same file' and cant figure out why it is doing this.
Any ideas?

i had the same failure to the update 8107, i solved it that way, sending one by one cabs to the device... first one language, the 2ns 3rd 4th an so on... then the last update 8107 arm something... that solved my problem. but it can also be a ROM problem, if it is a custom rom... in the end if nothing works try a phone reset, then try to send this cab files.

So are you saying I should remove all but one of the .cab files and run the utility? I havent done that but I'll give it a shot if that is ok to do.
Hmm, so I did this to the first .cab file and it updated me to 7.0.7403.0. However, so far the next one(s) in line will not go. They say "No applicable packages" and, of course, Zune still doesnt think I need any updates.
Edit: Actually, I think I see why. The first update which is supposed to take me to (7.0.7004.0) actually went all the way to 7403. Trying the 7403+ cab file now.
I started going one at a time and it got me partially updated but then one error out and basically bricked the phone (boot loop). I flashed back to 7004 and this time, for whatever reason, Zune detected the updates all the way up to Mango. The previous time I had flashed to 7004 it did not do that. I am now on 7.10.7720.68. I dont know if that is the 'latest' official release, but it appears to have the mango features at least.
So i am trying to update my phone for a few days with the latedt push OTA (6.0)

And when the system reboots, it brings me to the TWRP Bootloader screen.. even if i push the reboot to system button, the update failed to be applied.
Any tips?
(ElementalX Kernel, TWRP & SuperSU - Stock 6.0)
Edit: Sorry for the picture size, i have no idea how to resize)

You have to be stock to update OTA. No special recovery and no root

You can't flash any official OTAs with TWRP. It's a known fact, nothing you can do about it. Reflash stock recovery, or just use a close to vanilla custom ROM that gets the monthly security updates.
Hello!
I saw today that my Samsung Galaxy S6 has a new Software Update, when i try to install it, it downloads it, then asks me when i want to install it (like now or overnight)
when i install it now, it restarts the phone like it usually should, but when the Phone is rebooted, my S6 takes me to my TWRP Recovery Menu, so my question is, how do i install
the latest official software update without bricking my rooted S6?
First question. How did you manage to install twrp and still be able to download ota Updates?
Secondly: you only can install ota Updates over stock Recovery.

i dont really know, i just saw that my phone has an update, i clicked on it, it downloaded and then asked me to install it, and my phone is rooted and has TWRP, i dont even know if it would be a good idea to look for the software update and update it with odin or something, im completely new at this so i cant really answer that question. maybe it didnt even download the update. i wonder where it WOULD be saved if i really managed it to download...
I'm still to figure out what you did because technically speaking Samsung would have picked up you rooted and you would receive a message saying your system has been modified.

If what you saying is true then when your phone reboots into TWRP to install...look at where the OTA is stored. Copy it to internal storage. Reboot TWRP then flash OTA and reflash root
weirdly this message doesnt pop up at all, and im running rooting, xposed etc. its very weird...

as you can see, it downloaded and after the installation, it asks me when the installation should begin, if i install, the phone reboots and puts me automatically to twrp, i reboot back to system and my phone says that the installation failed and if i want to send a report to samsung...
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience or any ideas to resolve this issue I am having with my new Gome U7.
While using the phone, I constantly get popups saying I should add Iris for security. And when I actually scan my Iris and have it saved in the system, I get a different popup saying Iris is already inputted (no picture of this, sorry).
I am trying to find a way to disable this. I searched through the system.img and couldn't find any apks or anything remotely named "iris".
I am attaching a screenshot of the log of what happens in the system during these popups.

Update: I flashed phone back to stock Chinese ROM (GomeOS 2.0) and I get the popups even there. I also tried flashing into the ROM that comes with the phone and the problem still persists.
Is there a possibility that I am not flashing/erasing all of the data on the phone and there is something that still persists? I am using SPtools and when I input the scatter file, I make sure all the files are checked. I then flash TWRP boot.img and recovery.img successfully (and root the phone), but again, same popup comes up in android.
Can you disable the iris scan option after you input it? From this vid it looks like you can.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3mHj89zO4s
Sorry to ask
But how did u get the China ROM I have been looking for it
Like two months and I couldn't find it yet
what sim did you use in the UK? i tried Virgin mobile and got no 4g connection TIA
How can you root your GOME U7 ?

How can you flash rom to your GOME U7 ? can you give me links for CUSTOM ROMS of it I want to upgrade it to latest version thankyou.
So I have become member of the bricked-my-phone family. I have followed this tutorial https://www.getdroidtips.com/unbrick-oneplus-6/ and successfully unbricked it.
I have downloaded latest oxygen os (I tried two latest - one with android 11 and one with android 10), I have added the zip to the root directory and from system update I selected it, but in both cases I instantly get "System update installation failed" at 0%. It also says I am up do date from OTA (it it android 8.1 lol)
what should I do?
I want to install latest oxygenOS only for firmware, then I will be installing LineageOS again. I am afraid If I do it the other way around (LOS first than firmware) I will brick it again.

Download the latest OOS11 full version and install through Settings-- System Update -- Local Update.
Hope it helps.

That's exactly what I did and the result, you see on screenshot..
But later in the evening, I found the solution here https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-6-system-update-installation-is-failed.1314311/:
The OP6 must be on 9.0.9 before upgrading to Android 10.
You are still on Oreo/Android 8.
There is a link for 9.0.9 on this website:

If you are able to boot to Fastboot as well as able to unlock bootloader than do unlock the bootloader and flash this msm file
[ROM][STOCK][FASTBOOT][OP6] Stock Fastboot ROMs for OnePlus 6
Things are changing with the advent of project treble and seamless updates. OnePlus will no longer release ROMs flashable via stock recovery (with twrp is possible but not recommended). The updates will be done on the slot not used for example...
forum.xda-developers.com
And after that reboot to recovery stock and factory reset. This will fix your issue than after lock the bootloader(if it's unlock after flashing the file) and update to latest rom (download the rom from oneplus updater app with advance setting "on")
