titanium backup experts here? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys, so a week ago, my instagram account got disabled for no reason. everytime i try log in then it says "your account has been disabled for violating our terms". and this is bull****. i never violate any terms at all.
so i emailed instagram about this and yea they replied, but they dont do **** to help me, they just told me to go to help center but theres never an answer there.
but then, i tried to log in to my account using the instagram app using my dads phone, i can logged in no problem, then i tried my friends phone, i can logged in too. i tried to log in using the web, yes i could logged in too. so i search on google, instagram actually disabled your device from ever logging to their client. idk wtf that means. they trace our device by imei or some **** idk.
so i tried the xprivacy method from xposed(yes my s6 is rooted)but it still doesnt worked, i still cant log in to my account using my phone.
so i have a final solution. im gonna root my friends phone, then im gonna try to log in to my account using my friends rooted phone, then backup the app instagram using titanium backup, then send the backup to my s6, then restore the app and app data back to my phone. after i restored the app and open the app, will my account still logged in from my friends phone earlier?
any titanium backup experts here? i just want to make sure of this because so that i rooted my friends phone worth it. so please answer this.
thanks in advance xda.

The account will stay logged into your friends phone until you log out of it. But doing titanium backup the data is backed up so you'll be logged in when you restore the backup on your phone. Of course this is all in theory.
The only issue I see is that you have different devices most likely and different android versions, so usually it's not good to restore different data.

[Q] How Do I Get My Apps Back???

Hi,
When I first got my phone a month ago and not knowing what I was doing, when prompted to log into a Gmail account, I set things up with my tertiary/third-most-used account. Little did I know the consequences. When I decided I wanted to now set the phone up with my primary account, I discovered that the only way to do so was with a hard reset!
Well, after going through that process and now wanting to download and install several dozen Market apps that I previously had installed (several of which I'd paid for), I logged into Market, only to find a message saying "No downloads from Android Market."
I assume that Market doesn't recognize my new Gmail address as belonging to the same person as the one I was using previously (even after I added it). Is there a way that I can associate the two accounts for Market so that I can get my apps back?
Thanks!
This might be a dumb question and a little too late, but is there a reason you NEED the phone set up with your most used account? If I'm not mistaken, it ought to be painfully easy to set the phone up with a second google account for things like gmail and calendar and such. You might even be able to get contact sync from a second google account, with apps and such just syncing from the old account that you already used for that purpose.
I'd have at least given that a try before doing a full wipe, but you might have reasons I haven't thought of yet.
Not a dumb question at all. In fact, I'm the one feeling pretty dumb right now, for jumping the gun like I did. I did have a couple of other reasons, but I'm beginning to see that it wasn't as

...worth the cost. The other problem now is that I'm deluged by mail from my primary Gmail account. It also goes to my ISP account, where I can read it much more efficiently.
I can see another hard reset in my near future. :-(

I can tell you from experience (I've flashed a few roms...) that a hard reset isn't nearly as hard when you're syncing to the google account that has all your contacts and apps attached to it...
Silas, you lost me. What do you mean that it isn't as hard? Because you don't lose as much data? Are you talking about doing a hard reset without switching accounts like I did?
Would I be better to reset again (not a big deal at this point) and go back to the way it was, or not? Would I get my apps back (I hope)?
FWIW, I use my Gmail accounts only to collect and back up my email accounts, and for quick searches. I thought I might start using Google Calendar, though, and thought it might be better to use the one in my main Gmail account. Possibly I could sync the same calendar to both accounts, though -- could I?
And finally, is there any way at all to get my paid apps back with my current setup?
Thanks, everyone.

This might help you. Go into gmail and click the account address in the upper right corner. At the bottom is an option for adding an account. You should be able to let you apps back after adding that other account back. Hope it helps. If not, at least I tried.

Well, I thought I had replied a couple of hours ago, and here's my message, still waiting to post. Sigh....
Thank you, ZeroRilix. Unfortunately, no dice.
When I did that, there were already three accounts there. After hard resetting and setting up my primary Gmail account, I had also set up my other two Gmail account in Accounts & sync in Settings. However, when I viewed them as you suggested, it said that neither of them had been synced. So I made sure that Contacts, Calendar, and Mail were synced for all three accounts. When I went into Market and viewed My Apps, all I saw were still the few I had downloaded since the hard reset.
Thanks, though....
No prob. Everything you've already tried should've worked. I might suggest contacting Android Market and letting them know what's going on. I have included the link to the appropriate form to fill out. Sorry your still having issues, and maybe they can help you further. If you get the issue resolved, post back here so users who might run into this same issue cam fix it. Good luck!

I thought for sure I'd replied to this, but I can't see my response anywhere. Don't know why I'm having such trouble posting.
Thanks very much for this. I sent a support request yesterday and will let you know what they say. Unfortunately, it's Saturday, and I assume nobody's there to answer. Why do things always go wrong on the weekend?
Hi,
Here's my latest update. Not wanting to wait till Monday or later for a reply from Market Support, I decided to try posting my question to the Android forum at androidforums.com. I got a couple of helpful responses and I'm back in business. Here's the thread for anyone interested:

The short version is that I started over the way I had initially and all my apps downloaded automatically!
Thanks again for the help.

Best way to backup contacts?

First, I did use the search feature, but couldn't find anything specific to the Inspire. If this already exists, please feel free to link to it/close this thread. Thanks!
So, I can't seem to effectively back up my contacts. Titanium Backup doesn't do it, and I thought they were synced via Google. Not to mention I've had the same SIM card for YEARS and all my contacts have always been on there. Now, since I rooted my phone and started flashing custom ROMS, they have disappeared. Now I am without my 400+ contacts database, which I need.. So my question is, what is the best way to back up contacts, and is there any way to recover the ones I had?
Thanks in advance!
As long as you didn't choose not to sync with Google before you flashed, they are backed up. Most likely the problem you are having is getting them to import. Try going to Settings>Accounts and Sync> and manually sync your Google account.

I rip my employer a little I guess and store ALL my contacts to MS Exchange for several years now with nary a hiccup...that said since I've been on Android, Google does a fine job too. ... I think my free Sugar Sync account probably has them too...with this phone I have given up storing any contacts at all on the SIM card...because I have gone through what you are when simply switching phones or have phones stolen/lost in the past...but yeah make sure at least Google is backing them up...
It all depends on where you have chosen to save your contacts. If to phone then they may be lost forever. If to sim then simply import them back to your phone. If to Google account then as said above just re-sync.
When thinking about flashing rom's the first thing that you should do is make sure all contacts are backed up. Best choice is with Google. That way everytime you wipe data you can boot up your phone sync with Google and BOOM! They are there. Works a treat. Cheers.

Thanks guys. I've had them backed up to Google before, and even restored them before, but it doesn't seem to be working. I just flashed the VU ROM after having been using the RCMix3D ROM for my Inspire, so I'll post the question on their page and see if it's a known issue with the ROM or anything.
Good luck.

I have been on a captivate and now the inspire. Flashed upteen different roms and never had an issue with google restoring my contacts. Everytime I put the gmail addy in it pulls it all over.
Doesn't the htc sync account do that as well? Try doing that. If all else fails and you have them in say outlook or still on google then you can export them as a comma separated value (CSV) file and then put that on your sd card then import them via the people app. You can then save to sim via the people app.
I am on VU now and it restored flawlessly from gmail.
This is one app on the market that you can look at.

I would recommend using my backup pro from the android market

except your calendar and contacts are synced to the cloud and music, pictures, videos, and apps can be restored through ZUNE. You do lose game saves

When you say, restored through Zune, do you mean like downloading the App's manually, or Restoring the device?
It's just download and install some of your previous app (that were installed on your phone before you made restore).

yes, music, pictures & videos have to be re-synced. Apps have to be reinstalled. As I stated, you will lose game saves and any other app specific files and save states
if you have a backup, you lose nothing, restore the backup and everything is exactly as it was when backed up. Apps, game saves, SMS, etc...

[Q] How to backup google accounts?

Sooo,
I have like 10 gmail accounts logged in to my phone. And i dont like to keep entering the details everytime i change roms (which is quite often).
Is their a way backup that data using an app or backing up some files which are present in the root of the phone (if any).
I tried going through some forums but they are old and not solved.
Thanks!

A doubt about restoring data from Google Account

Hi guys! I'm new in this forum (at least new on posting). I had an issue with a device and I think maybe you can help me.
My girlfriend's device (Moto G XT1040) was working really laggy and slow after updating to 5.1, so I decided to do a factory reset. Before that, I made a backup of all the photos and contacts on the cloud, so I can recover them later. I've made the reset, started the device fresh, set up the Google Account, but none of the contacts and photos were there, not even the apps she bought on Google Play (in fact, there wasn't any downloaded app related to the account).
The thing is that I can't remember which account was set BEFORE the reset, but considering that my gf has only one G. Account (for real, she doesn't even use Gmail, she uses Outlook), is kind of strange that it isn't the same account she used previously. And as far as I know, there's no way to backup photos on "Photos" app witouth a Google Account, right? So those images went somewhere when I did the backup...
First, is there any way to find which Account was set up in the device before the reset? (I tried looking at the browser history, youtube history, even location log, but nothing comes up). Second, if the account was the same, what happened?
Thanks in advance for your help, and sorry for my rusty english!
Would it be possible you set her phone up on your account? You can check https://security.google.com/settings/security/activity?pli=1 on you google and her account and see whether the device pops up. Searching in the other direction, I would know.
Yep. She had another account that even she didn't knew... Sorry to waste your time guys. And thanks a lot for your help!
