Noob needing to flash a VZW Galaxy S4 to T-mobile rom - General Questions and Answers

Heres the backstory.... I was given (free) a VWZ Galaxy S4 with lollipop OC1. I FINALLY rooted it today (thanks to XDA and Kingroot). Here's my (2) dillemas:
1) I am using a t-mobile sim card (I have to have wifi calling here in the mountains of Oregon....there is no cell service until a 3 mile drive). I am looking to flash the phone over to a Tmobile ROM so I can use the phone for wifi calling, AND get rid of the inability to send sms messages (the problematic lollipop bug)
2) I have experience flashing ECM's (engine computers) for Mitsubishi's (Evolutions), but not cell phones. I know the premise is the same for the cars computer as it is for a Galaxy S4, BUT I have zero experience in flashing a phone. Being out here in "hill billyville", no one out here knows how to flash a phone within a 2 hour drive or more from here...lol
Do you think anyone can offer any guidance? I know I will need a Tmobile rom (i am fine ditching Lollipop for Kit kat if that is all thats available as of now.)
NOTE: I have searched the forums for a few months now, and after searching I have installed ODIN on my desktop, and installed ES file explorer, SuperSU, Root Checker, and root explorer on my phone. My developer options are "on" as well. Tutorial videos are VERY helpful and leave me with a minor headache that's completely tolerable.....:good:
My phone info:
Model: SCH-I545
Bootlaoder: I545VRUGOC1
Kernel version : 3.4.0-4584173 [email protected] #1 32-bit
Modem Board: MDM9615M

bump....anybody?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Australian model - Rooting

Hi
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S through Optus here in Australia. Like many others, the phone is running frustratingly slow. After reading many articles on this, I have decided to root the phone, then run the one click lag fix. Rooting will also allow me to use Titanium Backup which I am keen to do.
I am very new to all this phone stuff and so far, every rooting method I have tried has failed to work (2 methods involving downloading an update.zip, one automatic method through a PC). I think this may be because my Australian phone is slightly different to the galaxy's that the root guides were created for.
My phone specs are:
Build number: Froyo.DTJP5
Baseband version: I9000DTJP3
Firmware version: 2.2
I'd greatly appreciate anyone who can point me in the right direction for applying root to this phone. Or if anyone thinks there is a better option for speeding the phone up, please let me know.
you can either apply a one click lag fix (available in the market) or follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728754

[Q] Samsung SHV-E120L rooting problem

I have an uncommon problem with rooting my new Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE. I live in Poland and bought the phone from Hongkong (btw I have some doubts about originality of this device). I've been trying everything to break the root access, but I failed every time. At the moment I loaded Android 4.0.4. with Odin (Phone wouldn't update automatically so I found the update on the Internet).
MY DEVICE Baseband: SHV-E120L.FG11.1351.LT
Firstly, I've been trying just to use SuperOneClick, which crushes just after clicking "ROOT". It can't even recognise my device connected via USB. Then I tried flashing custom ROMs/Mods with Odin, but I couldn't find software matching to my baseband (I don't know if it matters). I also failed to load any recovery (I still can't find how to flash .img files, while i don't have sdcard). Besides I have been doing lots of internet research and nothing matches my problem. After a week of spending about 2h daily trying to root the phone I went to service point, where they told me there is hardly anyone in Warsaw, who would be able to root my device, because it was bought from abroad and they don't have proper equipment to do that... (?)
As you see I'm in lost position, at least one of you had similar problem and know how to fix it. I'm very desperate to root my phone because I've got tons of korean U+ bloatware and I have this "no caller ID" problem with messages... Also this model has shorter battery life than I was expecting, so I hope to be able to load kernel, managing processor voltage.
Waiting for replies asap!
I'm new to XDA so please forgive me any slips. I didn't find a section for this exact device and I hope here is the right place to put this thread.

[Completed] [Q] Note 4 Help With Root + Mobile Odin

Howdy all,
Just as the title say's, I'm in doing a Note 4 root and am coming into some trouble's since it's my first time doing one.
I follower the how to post by Chainfire , Proceed'd with the process with out issue and installed a few apps that are for root phones and they all seem to work fine.
Search'd around a bit more for a custom rom to use, and decided on trying out X-Note.
Installed the Mobile Odin app and open'd it after the install was complete but i get the following message:
Device model not supported (or not detected - check root) !
Generate a dump file that may help make this device compatible.
Phone Details:
Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Model Number: SM-N910G - Android version: 4.4.4
Now all that's out the way its question time.
1: Where do i send the mobile odin text dump too?
2: Will X-Note G-910F rom be compatible with G-910G?
3: Can it be flashed using the window's odion via usb cable?
ps.
Any other suggestion's for a nice rom would be great, as well as any tips on what not to remove from system app storage.
Went to download the Dr.Keaton Rom and it gave me spyware on the installer :| Anyone got a safe one with no malware attacked to a downloader?
Hi,
All roms will probably show up as viruses/malware ... As they are customized firmware, Usually rooted and all of that will show as exploits to a virus scanner. If you are worried, read the last few pages of any rom thread, whatever current issues there are will be discussed.
As far as your other questions, Here's a dedicated help thread for your device that you can ask for help in,

Good luck!

mega 6.3 not detecting sim after rooting with king root

i used to work at cricket and bought a galaxy mega 6.3 off a customer for 40 bucks, tested it with my sim, it worked fine. i put it away for awhile since i was still using my old blackberry and eventually decided it was time to change.
this being my first samsung device, i didn't realize how finicky they are with customization and rooting so i blindly rooted the phone using king root program and now my phone shows an unlock graphic on the boot and no longer detects my sim card.
what is going on here? i've done a ton of research and haven't found a single thing to help yet. i asked a co-worker and he told me to come to xda and ask.
ps: i tried using odin to reflash stock rom/firmware but my pc won't detect the phone for some reason (all drivers are installed btw)
any help would be greatly appreciated

How do You Root Only - Verizon I535 4.4.2

I have two of these and I would like to Root at least one of them. Root only not interested in a custom ROM. Just want to remove the bloat ware and add a WiFi Teter app but both require root access. Both of these phone where in use by other family members and are in excellent condition but both were upgraded to 4.4.2 while they were using them. I've spent countless hours, haven't found one that states this version is rootable, yet OneClickRoot.com states it is rootable. However, I've read some horror stories about them.
Can someone explain how to do this or point me to location where its clearly written how and where to get the files needed.

I finally figured it out for myself researching this past couple of days and I have that exact phone version. You got to use towelroot. You simply need to allow non google play store apps to be installed on the phone. And then download the towelroot .apk file and run it and waahh-laaah. I tried using odin to unroot and some other things and they never worked for me. Towelroot did, and I have that exact same 4.4.2 build and etc.
If you're interested in getting rid of the bloatware as I was then you might be interested in this. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797314
I tried this last night with success and installed the superliterom and a lot of bloatware is now gone. I believe this includes wifi-tethering as well. You are basically limited to touchwiz roms with a 4.4.2 build based from my reading; could be wrong. With this particular phone, once you've updated the firmware to 4.4.2 you can't unlock the bootloader without bricking the phone; period. The superliterom is basically like stock without a good portion of the bloatware. Hope this helps!
