mega 6.3 not detecting sim after rooting with king root - Android General

i used to work at cricket and bought a galaxy mega 6.3 off a customer for 40 bucks, tested it with my sim, it worked fine. i put it away for awhile since i was still using my old blackberry and eventually decided it was time to change.
this being my first samsung device, i didn't realize how finicky they are with customization and rooting so i blindly rooted the phone using king root program and now my phone shows an unlock graphic on the boot and no longer detects my sim card.
what is going on here? i've done a ton of research and haven't found a single thing to help yet. i asked a co-worker and he told me to come to xda and ask.
ps: i tried using odin to reflash stock rom/firmware but my pc won't detect the phone for some reason (all drivers are installed btw)
any help would be greatly appreciated

[Q] Brand new to everything root related, some simple questions i hope.

Ok here we go thank you to whoever takes the time to answer these sorry if I sound uneducated in this field but I have no idea what I am doing really.
1) I am running a Galaxy S4 through Koodo (Canadian) sgh-i337m baseband I337MVLUFNE1 the build number is the same but with KOT49H. added to the front of it, my question is is it possible to unlock my bootloader I've seen posts about AT&T locking theirs or something and I wasn't sure.
2) Secondly I've rooted my phone using Odin and how can I tell if my bootloader is unlocked? (keep in mind im not too tech savvy with the android OS yet)
3) What would happen if I flashed Cyanogenmod onto my device and it wasn't unlocked? I bought ROM Toolbox pro
4) How do I go about doing anything in recovery mode everytime I go through it shows a dead android guy and doesn't give me many options?
5) How do I change my boot screen, I tried a few methods but I don't think I am deodexed (which i don't know what it means really) and it tells me i cant change themes etc with ease, when i tried that x-(something) program to deodex my device it couldn't detect the device through the usb or it took ridiculously long and I quit out.
Thank you very much to whoever can help me out, I'm not sure where my Koodo GS4 falls in relation to canadian GS4's etc so I don't want to mess it up.

SPH-L710T debrick image file needed for Virgin Mobile

Can someone please help me with an unbrick/debrick image file specifically for the Kitkat SPH-L710T Virgin Mobile model? I have tried using the Boost/Sprint images but they won't work. Knowing the boot loader was already unlocked on my GS3, I tried the EZ Unlock app just goofing around one day and never in my wildest dreams did I think an app of sorts would hard brick a phone. It's not like I tried flashing a custom ROM for a different carrier or phone model, I am pretty well experienced in flashing and rooting, not a pro at it but not a noob either. Brand new phone out of the box and I rooted it using a guide by Max Lee via YouTube and I did not wanna flash a ROM yet until I activated the phone but I never got the chance. I don't blame the DEVS of the EZ Unlock app, I blame myself. My phone was complete stock and I removed no bloatware, the only thing I did was rooted it then screwed it up bu using an app that I had no business using. PLEASE HELP!!:crying::crying::crying::crying:
Boost SPH-L710T unbrick image? Where?
Bricked mine in two days installing conquest singularity rom. A jib did nothing four different unbrick img, and two PC and Linux writes and nothing. Where did you find the Boost Triband unbrick? Good luck with yours. Already replaced my brick, but it would be awesome to get it back. Thanks.

Cannot Recover Samsung on5 GT5501 - all resources exhausted

hello all.
long time viewer first time posting..
Ive searched, downloaded, and even called Samsung Tech Support to no avail. After a week now this is my final attempt before the phone goes on Ebay..
I have a Samsung Galaxy On5 (SM-GT550T01) through MetroPCS. Acquired last week when I decided to trade a sibling phones. I had actually rooted the phone for them and it was working fine. switched SIM card out etc, theirs works fine mine isn't. Turns out they did a factory reset with root and somehow managed to even wipe the OS leaving me with just Twrp Recovery.. Ive locked up my fair share so first thought was smart switch the SN i found on Twrps terminal was not the original sn anymore? Searched here saw someone post a sn -tried it - it seemed ok until 100% then states an error use code in emergency recovery but does not give me a code.. eventually says cannot recognize anything, Ive tried ODIN, ADB, countless recovery firmware - same result,,,called support was transferred to "the techs" who said they wouldn't be able to force a new OS onto the phone...I find that very hard to believe...sorry for the rant....just wanting to know now if i waste anymore time or buy a new phone....as for knowledge on all this I would say between beginner and intermediate...lots of google/XDA/YouTube and I am usually able to accomplish something..this had me beat as well as awake at 346am...any help appreciated! Again

What happened with your Samsung oN5 GT5501
Im currently trying to root my samsung GT5501. Now I notice their is a GT550. Different model. I think the GT550 is the ON5 Pro. 16Gb of internal storage, but the one I'm guessing were both inquiring about has an internal storage of 8GB, correct?? Now hopefully were talkg bout the same phone. Now was it the GT5501 the phone u had rooted? If so, did u do it without a PC?? If so can you direct me to instructions or vids. Can't find any specifically for the GT5501. All the tutorials are for the GT550 model..... sorry I wasn't any help to you, but I hope you got it all sorted out...

Samsung Galaxy S6 problem

Hello everyone, today i tried to root my galaxy s6 (920f), and i could not find the activate the oem unlock option, i own this phone from more than a month now, bought it from a friend, has never been modified or anything, its pure stock phone, the only thing i did is to factory reset it. I tried the calendar trick (yes i followed every step exactly how they are mentioned here) , waited 2 weeks without turning off or restarting the phone, still does not appear, the phone was originally bought from service provider before 3 years and it is locked to this provider only until your contract ends, and when u put another provider sim card the phone wont accept it, but after the 2 year contract has ended u can put any card and it will work, so this is the case here, contract ended like a year ago and im using the phone with another provider card and it works fine, i want to root it so i can install viper 4 android, so can anyone help me, i know this and that about rooting and flashing and etc but still can you explain to me the steps like i never did something like this because the install guide in the viper4android topic is hard to understand for me, i have rooted a lot of phones before so i wont need help about that but never installed custom things like viper4android and that is what i need help for the oem unlock and viper4android

Verizon Galaxy S7 Edge: Removing bloatware after 1-Clk-Root

Just picked up a carrier unlocked Verizon Galaxy S7 Edge model SM-G935V.
Now that I finally have a model which seems like it should be relatively easy to root, I would prefer to learn to do it using a PC ie flashing ROM, but I have no PC access right now.
My main question is:
After rooting my phone using a 1-click root method, will it be relatively easy for me to un-install ALL bloatware & eventually end up with a phone that's running just as efficiently as it would if I had picked out and flashed a good stripped down ROM using a PC instead of some 1-click method?
I'm also considering purchase and use of Super-sume Pro (if the job is done with Kingroot).
Any advice AT ALL regarding what I hope to do would be greatly appreciated... and jic it helps here s a little of my background:
I have NO successful experiences using TWRP or the like w other phones.. although I believe I came close!!... my last few phone picks turned out to be models which were pretty much impossible to root (locked bootloader was the common culprit best I could understand).... Otherwise I think I'd have been able to do at least 1 previous model the flash-rom way.
I DO have A lot of general experience w PCs and have successfully rooted a few phones using 1 click Android software such as Kingroot, but at that time I did not fully understand or hope to remove bloatware to cool battery or otherwise dial in best performance.
It's been at least 3 years since I last performed a 1 click root on any phone.
Thanks in advance for any advice or assistance... I really appreciate everyone & everything at XDA.
