Hi, my friend has S6 G920F with stock ROM LMY47X.G920FXXU2BOG8 (5.1.1). I tried to flash TWRP but I was not succesfull.
Steps I did:
Enabled developer setting, enabled USB debugging
Turned the phone off, then booted to Download mode
Installed drivers to Windows 10 (detected as Samsung USB modem)
Ran Odin 3.10.6 as Administrator
Select TWRP 2.8.7.1 as AP
Start flash
I got messages about flashing, everything seems OK, thone was restarted, KNOX is 1 but the recovery isn't there When I turn the phone off, then on with volume up + home + power, I got stock recovery (it takes long time to boot there). I tried there my phone and I flashed new bootloader/modem without issues.
Any idea what could prevent flashing TWRP?
Thanks
I'm getting the same issue at the moment, did you solve yours?

Hi, this is not my first time flashing TWRP on this phone. And I have been successful so far.
Today I use Odin to flash TWRP, and it went through just fine (see screenshot), but when I enter the recovery mode, it says "Android system recovery <3e> LMY47X.G920FXXU2COH2 on top and I am very confused. I tried a few times and apparently I cannot enter TWRP while Odin kept telling me I have flashed it successfully...
Did you have "Auto-Reboot" ticked on Odin? On my Note 4 that used to mean the kernel would reflash the stock recovery upon booting. You need to untick this, turn the S6 off after flashing and then boot directly into recovery using power + home + vol up
Nope. On the S6 auto-reboot menas what it does. The phone gets rebooted after the flash is done.
To the OP: You used the correct file to flash? USed AP mode in ODIN?
I had same problem. I think you need to have rooted kernel through odin first. Idk, that us what i did.
Just so everyone knows how I solved this. I wiped everything and flash TWRP and it worked. I am not sure why, but that's how I got it to work.
I have a huge problem!
I flashed the twrp (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/development/rom-aterminatorg920f3zpa1m-6-0-11-0b-t3295183 ) via odin ,as said, and then the phone stayed in download mode instead of rebooting or saying something like "finish" (in odin i got a message that the process successed) only the writing "dont turn the phone off". it stay like this for a long time so i had turn the phone off and since then the phone doesnt go past the samsung s6 logo screen and can be booted into recovery mode in any way!!
Ive tried reflashing twrp (many versions) and to use every other combination to get into Recovery mode (so i could do a factory reset or a data wipe) but it doesnt work.
I had this issue. It was because I was running the latest 5.1.1 update and couldn't flash TWRP. My solution was to use odin to flash stock recovery.
Hope that helps
where cani find stock recovery?
Hey, so I'm pretty new to all of this and trying to root my Samsung Galaxy J7 (SM-J700T) running Android version 6.0.1 with the use of Odin, TWRP Recovery and SuperSU. I downloaded all the necessary files on my computer and am doing this with a fully charged phone. My phone has USB Debugging enabled and OEM unlocked. I try to flash the TWRP Recovery file through Odin to my phone while it's in download mode. According to Odin, it succeeded and my phone instantly restarts. It doesn't boot into TWRP or stock recovery; just restarts my device. If I power off and try to boot myself into recovery mode, it takes a few seconds, the screen will for maybe one second show an image of the green Android mascot with the caption 'No Command' and boot itself to my stock recovery instead of TWRP. According to Odin it was a success but I have no idea how to get TWRP recovery instead of my stock one. Any help on how to get there so I can root my device?

Open Odin and plug your phone in. Go to the settings tab and turn auto-reboot off. When you finish flashing the TWRP tar unplug your cable and pull the battery and boot into recovery.
Hello people!
I have a J400F phone model, I was working with android 9 rooted & working well, I updated to android 10 with a fresh install, the phone works well, and I wanted to use a custom recovery TWRP and root the phone, it stuck in boot loop, this is how I flashed:
- Used Odin with the latest stock firmware "J400FXXU6CTGO".
- restart the phone, and the bootloader is already unlocked "OEM Unlocked".
- Downloaded TWRP for J400F from halabtech, flashed it, then rebooted to recovery.
- In home screen, Wipe --> Format.
- With TWRP I flashed RMM_Bypass_v3_corsicanu.zip then no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip
After this I tried booting to system but then It kept rebooting after reaching the samsung logo.
Any help is appreciated guys.
I managed to access the download mode by taking out the battery, put it back in the phone, connect it to USB in the computer, press vol down and home button and you should be able to enter the download mode to flash the stock ROM (still reading on the second part).
Hi,
I've managed to brick my S21+, after a mistake during flashing of a newer twrp version with Odin.
I basically placed the (patched) stock AP file in the AP slot instead of the TWRP tar, and the vbmeta_disabled_R.tar in the userdata slot.
After reboot, I got a boot loop, and I am not able to boot to recovery or to download mode as before when using the key-combo.
Previous to this flashing, I had the TWRP 3.6 and Lineageos 19 GSI for about 6 months, with no issues.
My question - how can I get to Download mode now? and is it possible that I ran over my recovery?
Is it possible that the download mode is no longer available due to the AP flashing (no BL, CSC files)?
Appreciate any suggestion and help!
connect it to the PC and do the combination that you did before, that is volume up and volume down pressed at the same time, that same thing happened to me, when I wanted to update twrp better install the stock first and then the new recovery, so you take advantage of updating the firmware of the phone and the new recovery
Strangely, the recovery entry or download does not work without being connected, so I recommend you better install the magisk to enter the recovery from there, otherwise you will have to do that process when you want to update or install custom roms

Thanks for your reply!
the key-combo in S21x are with USB plugged to PC, otherwise recovery cannot be reached, unless using ADB command. I have tried this many times since the wrong Odin flash occurred, but nothing happens except from reboot, warning screen (about unofficial software) and reboot again.
Even previous to the bricking, typically in order to get to download mode in this device, you need to go through recovery first and then select download mode. Alternatively, adb reboot download command, but neither are now an option.
So my last resort was a USB-JIG device to get to download mode - but I don't know of any such device for a USB-C connection.
Anyone here has experience with that? or can direct me to such a device for the newer Samsung models?
Thanks!

Thanks for your help! - indeed the PLUS and MINUS volume keys with the usb cable plugged in gets you directly to d/l mode. I just tried it with the power key all the time, as in previous models, and that got me nothing.
Issue solved!
