Extremely slow charging after dropped - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I accidentally dropped my phone last night and the back cover shattered. I had a spare back cover handy so I wasn't completely upset but now I have noticed the phone is charging EXTREMELY slow. Over 5 hours it only charged 30% which is pretty concerning.
I can't see any damage internally in the phone at all. Charging port seems to be working ok and LED lights up like there are no issues.
Any ideas on what it could be?

Battery connection soldering micro corruption can introduce significant resistance, therefore making charging process slow..

Thanks for that, that does make sense.
Do you think the only solution would be motherboard replacement? or could it be as simple as battery replacement?
Thanks

In this case the battery replacement should be enough. Battery is attached to the motherboard by a connector (see picture). Potential problems can be as simple as loose connector (just try to re-attach), conenctor soldering broken (need to replace battery), motherboard side connector broken or also microruptures in PCB anyway in signal path from Mini-USB to battery connector (therefore motherboard would need replacement).

Diamond Travel Battery Charger

I plan to buy a battery travel charger from ebay.
Anyone can give me some feedback?
I just want to know will it damage my original HTC battery if this is a bad or defect charger?

Either link is bad or item has been removed......no longer available from this seller.
Wouldn't mind this item as well. I will look around to see if this is available else where.

I wonder if this same travel unit can do the extended battery as well. My suspicions tells that it won't.
Still, good find !!
i bought this similar charger from DX for US4
it charges the 1800 m Ah battery but only has 2 lights, green and red....
did not really wait till it turn from red to green... after 5.30 hours, took the charger off.
there is a few version of this charger, the premium version has 7 lights.
search for DPL-1688 online..
Maybe this is a beter travling option
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.19086
I don't now yet how many times you can charge your phone with it I ordered it and think for travling purpose this is a much beter option just because you can charge your phone anywhere even in the bush where in the near 100km is no electricity, ofcoarse there is a limit in the times you can charge but if the choise is charge or empty useless phone there shouldn't be to much doubt, specialy cause its a small app from -3inchX-3inchX0,5 inch the capacity sugest a 12 times charging of your phone which mean in the bush where you can switch your radio off cause there won't be any antenne in the near of you
Here you can find a link to a post of me about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=463363

[Q] Htc Sensation Not getting charged

any idea why HTC Sensation isnt getting charged.. As soon as i connect it to the charger the part below the memory and sim card get heated so much that u cant even touch it..And the phone is restarting on its own.The following msg that htc showed me "Ur phone is using more current than the supplied curried".Showed it to the local technician he say the board is fine and he cant repair it.. There are no authorized service centre in Mumbai. The nearest one is 200 km away.what should i do?
Custom Rom. ICS Rom.
No previous problem.First problem.
It sounds like you're plugging the phone into your computer to charge? Assuming the problem is not the cable itself shorting, it sounds like something with the phone itself. If you aren't confident in being able to take it apart and fix it yourself, and getting it serviced is not feasible, your best bet would be getting another battery and external charger. This way, you'd be swapping batteries and charging externally. Not sure if there's anything available to you locally...
No not charging with my computer. Its the normal htc charger and its original battery. The same battery work fine on my other sensation phone without any issue...I used an anker battery fully charged the phone started and the battery lvl started falling, within 5 mins the battery came down to red level and phone got really heated at the place below the sdcard and memory card location and even the screen side..The technician say that 90% when this problem occur its not possible to repair it..!!! i also tried using other battery and other charger but same things happen with it.

Change the battery. If that doesn't help, the port is damaged.

Battery changed but still same msg... Port damaged? how to repair that?
Just uploaded image crc is it helpful?
I mean physically damaged. Just take a look inside where you would plug the cable. If anything looks amiss, its probably the cause of your charging trouble. You have two options, find a new logic boars, or find someone who will micro solder a new port on for you. EBay has more than one person who will provide that service.

Help: phone shutting down continuously

Hi everyone,
for the last two months I've experienced a serious problem with my sensation; the phone shuts down inmediatly withouth any fixed reason, sometimes happens when I unlock the screen, others when taking a picture, also when playing music, etc. Then from one shut down to the next boot the battery level change drasticaly, from 60% -> 20% , then in a while another shut down happens and the battery comes back to 50%, I honestly don't understand. The shuts down always appear with a battery level <60%
This behaviour happened to me with ViperS 1.6.0-2 , CM10 and now again with Hypernonsense. I have two batteries, the official one and Anker, also happened with both batteries.
Here is a logcat, hope someone could give me a hint, honestly I cannot trust in going out with it anymore.
Thanks!
PS: Maybe the most interesting part of the logcat is till 2:00 am

Even i had the same problem before my phone went crazy.. doesnt charge and gets overheated.
I have the EXACT same problem. Or had, i tried the trick of making the battery tighter and so far (for more than 2 weeks) i haven't been getting reboots on CM10. Used a piece of paper .

Seriously? so just putting a piece of paper in the upper side or how?
Had the same problem with my old HTC Desire, lately the batteries started to drain very fast. I don't know what exactly causes this problem of shutdown, but it became me a phone killer.

[Q] OPO overheating, need help

Right so I've been playing with my phone that I've had for a while, but never seriously until this past week... and that's when I started noticing that it overheats. Pretty badly.
For example, I was playing Dead Ahead, a game that I didn't think was too intensive since my ipod touch 4g can play the game without any issues aside from some lag. All of a sudden after like, 20 minutes of play time, the damn phone starts getting so warm that I can feel it through the protective screen I put on my phone's front. After running a temperature check, it was near 40 degrees C inside there.
The weird thing is that it seems to take forever for it to cool. An hour after the above incident, the cpu was still clocking in at around 35 c, After I read a Cleaner(esque) App to kill all the running apps to try to prevent any more issues.
So I guess the question is, what's wrong here? I saw on the forums that the phone has a tendency to overheat a bit, but this type of overheating is ridiculous. I'm using the official OP flip case if that makes any difference. If y'all need stats and stuff just tell me how to post it/what you need and I'll gladly provide it. It's a shame cause I like this phone, I'd hate to have to dump it over an issue like this.
40°C is nothing to worry about, these phones can get way higher than that without any real serious consequences. I'm pretty sure I've seen mine over 60°C. Just sitting here typing this message on Tapatalk has me device at this temp:

So don't stress, and remember games are very CPU and battery intensive, so it's natural for it to heat up a bit. And really, 40° on any Android device is actually a pretty low to mid temperature. So it isn't overheating, if it was overheating it would shut down due to the thermal shutoff. It's just heating up, and not very much.

Really? My ipad 2 and ipod touch (yeah I'm migrating) never had issues playing the same game with overheating...
but if what you say is true then I guess it's ok, but it was still getting warm enough that it was getting a bit hot to hold...
More importantly I think there's still a battery draining app on the phone since it woke up dead this morning after leaving it unplugged at night so I think that may be the issue... at least I hope it is. Now I need to go back and uninstall everything up until this issue first presented itself.
Oh I'm running the OTA cyanogenmod if you're curious, thanks for the reply.

Poco x3 NFC nowhere near fast charging

So, here's my issue. Original cable N brick, charges almost nothing. Putting the brick N cable into my old not fast charging supported phone gives 1200 mA.
Unbelievable N here almost nothing.

I have the same issue for like 2 months now. It comes and goes on its own. But when it does come, it messes my life up. Like today, it came back. It took my phone 7 HOURS to go from 30% to 64%.
Have you by any chance resolved it? If so, can you elaborate, please?

No I didn't,it works once a while then It turned to **** more often. I even bought another cable ( always same) it's Very strange . I decided to use it jow as 2nd phone only ,it's a pity because I like Poco all the way but charge all day is useless. It's either software related or something is wrong with the charging port ( but I cleaned a million times with a toothpick and even used a blower but it still doesn't work reliable. So I gave up on it. Wish you more luck!
12.5 update causing this... My phone stop charging at 90 percent... Only way to get it full charge to 100% is by plugged it to USB desktop...
I'm having the exact same problems. My original lead that came with the phone I can get to use fast charge fine but any other lead I've used just refuses to charge at a reasonable level at all. Last week I bought another official Xiaomi lead, the exact same as what I've got now. First few hours it was charging up very well indeed but next day barely anything.
This is incredibly frustrating because I know I can get fast charge to work but the lead I got originally with the phone is falling apart now. Honestly have no idea how to solve this.
