[Completed] sync dictionary between devices (Google Keyboard) - XDA Assist

so I have some words stored on my tablet's personal dictionary (Settings => Language & input => Personal dictionary).
I also have installed Google Keyboard app and have selected my main Google account as the sync account and have just pressed "Sync now".
I have also installed the Google Keyboard app on my phone and just have also selected the same account as the tablet and have pressed "Sync now". BUT the dictionary hasn't transferred to my phone. I've tried synching several times but no positive outcome.
Both devices are running KitKat.
Any ideas on how to make this will work? Thanks!

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Sorry it took a while to get back to you, but I was unable to find a clear reference to your specific problem.Since Google has now removed the old "sync" option from the Dashboard (https://www.google.com/settings/dashboard), merely enabling personal dictionary sync on all applicable devices is supposed to suffice as long as you have the current version of the Google Keyboard app. I suggest you ask your question with all relevant details in the general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with the issue might be able to advise you.
Good luck!

[Q] ISO: App to designate with which google account other apps should interact

Hello XDA community, I'm looking for an app or other way to to specify with which google account on my phone other apps should interact. I find it strange that we can set up several google accounts on a single phone but then have no way to tell programs which to use ( on a case-by-case basis or even as a default).
The only app I've encountered that does support this functionality is Shawn Q.'s Quick App Tracker (search on market - I don't have enough posts to include an external link). In its preferences there is a field "Google Account" with a dropdown menu that self-populates with the google accounts set up on the phone - you choose one, and then the first time you use the program and it attempts to connect to the market it prompts you with an access request you can allow or deny.
So the functionality exists, but it is clearly not something frequently included with apps that request access via a google account to Android services. Does anyone know of an app or even way to manually control this?
thanks

Hard to say with that few information.
You can try to clear app data and cache of Play store in Settings > Application manager > All ... (or where ever it's on your device).
Then start Play store app again.
If you are on original/stock firmware, you can also wipe data/do a factory reset. But keep in mind that you have a backup of everything important before wiping.
If that does not help, please contact Google (or your mobile carrier, or the hardware manufacturer) service directly, and ask for help.
Maybe it's an issue with your Google account(s).
For further information, check your device specific forum or ask in the General discussion > Questions and Answers forum.

[Completed] My Data backup on google account

Hi Guys,
I used to reset my phone occasionally. Even not doing any personal backup, and switching off the automatic restore option, it automatically restores all my gallery photos/videos and contacts, which i think is stored in my google account. Now i just would like to know, if there is a proper way that i will be able to directly go to my google account(preferably through web service), and view what ever data is exist there and if not wanted can remove for ever???
Right now i am on Lollipop, as it is not exactly related to a specific device, i hope it wont mind listing my phone model here.
Thanking all in advance.

Hi there,
Go to Google Dashboard and sign in with the same Google account you used on your device. Click the arrow next to Android to see a list of all your devices with backup data. At the bottom is a button, Delete backup data. This button deletes the backed-up data from all devices. There's no way to delete the data from a specific device.
If you want to delete not only the data backed up using the "Back up my data to Google servers" option, but also other synced data like Gmail, contacts, calendars, Google Docs documents, you'll find them listed in their own sections on the same dashboard page

Hi
Thank you for using XDA Assist.
Select “Google Keyboard Sync” from the Accounts & Privacy setting.

[Completed] Contact Data getting deleted

I purchased a Moto G4 mobile phone from Amazon about 2 months ago. At the time of purchase, I already had Airtel connection. In addition, I also got R Jio connection, which I am using for Whatsup & Browsing.
I have been noticing that on day to day basis, one or the other contact details is getting automatically deleted. I imported all details from Gmail a/c. Later someone suggested that the deletion is happening because of sync with Gmail. Hence, I delinked it. Even then, this problem continues.
Just at the time of requirement, when I want to call a person Or send an SMS Or whatsup, I notice there are no details. It is becoming difficult.
I have written to Google also and no response.
Awaiting an earliest solution.
Thanks,

Hi there and welcome to assist,
Try this...
1. Make a full backup of your contacts. To backup your contacts use any third party app from the PlayStore. I recommend using [SMS Backup & Restore] by Ritesh Sahu.
2. Make sure you have only one main Google account syncing. If you have any other Gmail account go to settings > Accounts > click on the other accounts and remove it for now.
3. Go to settings > backup and reset > uncheck Backup my data (this will erase all of ur backups on Google servers).
4. Restart your phone and restore you contacts using SMS Backup & Restore.
5. Go to settings again > Accounts > Google > here you should see your Gmail account. On top right corner click on the three dots > Sync now. Wait until it finish syncing.
6. You can now re-enable Backup my data. Settings > Backup & Reset > Check Backup my data.
7. Re add your other Gmail accounts.
If this method didn't work try to disable the Google Contacts Sync service with Startup Manager .
You'll have to create an account to post in the main forums if you have any other questions.
