SMS Sync? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I regularly switch between the OPO and S6, I'm looking for an app that syncs my SMS between the two. Right now I'm backing the texts up, uploading it to Google drive, then downloading and restoring the file. This is very time consuming as I don't delete my texts very often and have over 15k texts stored.
The only app I've found to do this is mysms but it's a paid service, I'm looking for a free app or much cheaper than what mysms charges... Any suggestions?

Try MightyText. Also lets you read/send texts from your PC.
I also think you can get the same using PushBullet.

Hmmm PushBullet looks promising... I installed mightytext a while ago but could only see it on a PC, not 2 phones. I'll look at it again tho.

I was using "Super Backup SMS + Contacts". It creates a backup file on your phone or you can upload it to GDrive/Dropbox/whatever. Than simply restore this file on your second phone.

[Q] Autosync selected folders to online storage

Is there a way to do this?
Specifically, a way to sync my pictures and videos to some sort of online storage as and when I take them, or at a preset interval.
Just now, my phone and laptop weren't playing nice and it wouldn't mount as USB. So, I disconnected from USB. Now, I find a bunch of pictures and videos and lord knows what else have just disappeared. I'd like to be able to have a constant back up of these things.
I think dropbox has this feature. You only get 2GB free, buy a very useful app.

I know Titanium Backup has a feature called 'Media Sync' that does just that, too.
Dropbox is great btw.

Dropbox will not do this by itself but, Titanium Backup Media Sync seems like it will use Dropbox to do it for me. Thanks!

Stock email app

I just got my phone a couple days ago and love it but couldn't figure out how to change from different email clients when using the stock email app. It allows you to set a default but are you able to go to a different email account besides going to the message app where is takes you to texts, email, fb, etc.
Thanks in advance and sorry if I sound like a noob.

I don't know your answer but if the "other" email account you want to use has an app in the market (most of the big ones do) I would suggest using that instead. Most stock android apps are pretty much just there to get you up and running until you install something better. I only use the default for exchange access for work.
OK that is probably what I will do then. I just would like to have all my emails in one place so it is easier to check.

Oh it's certainly capable. It's just nice getting "native" features like proper labels in gmail and such. If the stock email app isn't to your liking and you want to stay with an "all in one" app then check what the market has to offer.
Messaging App gives you Universal Inbox

Use the Messaging App instead of the Email App - Messaging gives you a Universal Inbox, or option to open any individual email account, Text Messaging, or Facebook.
(I haven't found an email app in Market that looks any better or does any better, for me)

[Q] SMS backup restore doesn't work

Hey everyone so I've been using 4.1.2 roms for quite sometime but visiting various 4.2.1 roms once in a while. But after finding my perfect ROM to switch over I want to switch over my messages too, but so far no apps I use work. Is there a work around? I tried SMS backup and restore, saves XML files to your SD, and I tried SMS backup, which saves your messages to your gmail. Both after restoring your messages stop at the loading conversations in any messaging app. Is there anyway to transfer my 9000+ messages? Thanks
Go SMS pro has cloud back up. I think it's $5 for the feature, but I can't imagine it wouldn't restore to a new ROM? Why do you wanna hold onto 9k texts? Doesn't it bring your phone to a crawl?

I haven't encountered any phone that doesn't take a hit on performance when handling that many texts.

Hello,
have you found a solution to this issue? I am struggling about it.
Thank you!
Google voice is the best backup
But that's just my opinion

It could be, but now I am facing the issue of restoring 8000+ SMS that I backed up with My Backup Pro and I can't lost.
By the way, I don't personally give a **** about SMS restoring, but this phone is the one of my girlfriend!

Right on, I hear u
... But having ur phone with that many SMS on its SMS app will slow ur phone soooo much since it has to read them.
That is why I prefer Google voice Apk. It will never slow down my phone but I know where to find them when I need them. And I can access them on any PC.
I use since I was a flash-aholic and I kept missing SMS and voicemails. So now its just a life saver.
I wish u luck on ur task.
Take care

Solved for me!
I discovered it is only a matter of time, BIG time.
I let the message list window open (the one that couldn't load any messages) and I went to bed.
After several hours everything was in place. Fortunately!
Hope this is going to be useful to others psychotics as well.
Cheers
Thanks, im goign to test that solution, i did the same, a backup of a LOT of sms, and when i did a Helium restore, the sms app is just showing "loading conversations".
I will update this, when i tested it.
UPDATE:
Indeed you just have to wait, until all the sms load correctly. In my case (SG3) it took me just 1 hour.

If it is just the data then install "My Backup" (free from play store for 30 days) on both the device. then backup the data from the phone and send the backed up zip via bluetooth (the zipped file will be on sdcard\rerware) to the other device and again use my backup to restore. You can backup SMS, contacts and even call log.

Yeah I know how to backup stuff.
I literally want all my calls and texts when they come in to be sent to the other phone.

Yeah this is what I'm using now. I was hoping to find something that does it automatically instead of manually having to backup and restore.
