Hong Kong SM-P605 with Euro 5.X - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone with a HK sourced tablet load one of the Euro ROMs via Odin? Any issues? A bunch of Note 3 folks borked their devices because apparently the PIT and modem files are different sizes between HK and Europe. Want Lolipop. Don't want to bork my Note.

Can I run a stock G920F rom on a G920i?

Hey,
So I've recently gotten an Australian S6 G920i and was wondering if I would be able to flash a G920F rom to it. As far as I know the phones are practically identical so I cannot see why it wouldn't be possible, I just don't want to have to wait for the Australian carriers to update the firmware, plus the bloatware is gross (bootscreen, apps, etc.). Tried to look for a similar thread but couldn't find anything, help would greatly be appreciated
Thanks!
Hi soymllk,
What carrier are you using?
I assume you are on 5.1.1 firmware.
Just took a quick look at sammobile and found Vodafone firmware from 01/14/2016.

You can flash an unbranded firmware on your G920I. Running a 920F firmware isn't possible on your phone.
The only difference in the 920I and 920F are the LTE bands. The 920I has the same FDD-LTE bands as a a 920F, however it also carries additional TDD-LTE bands for Australia, India, Singapore and a few other countries.

Hey guys, thanks for your help! Before I saw any of this I went to SamMobile and flashed the Vodafone ROM (knowing that Vodafone don't customize phones at all, unlike Optus...) so all the bloatware crap is gone now Thanks!
(BTW I'm with Vodafone but the phone was originally an Optus phone so it had all their stuff on it, including a lovely "Hellooooooooo" welcome and "cya ya!!" shut down screen-_-)

Flash a different ROM into SM-G9550

I bought an unlocked S8+ from a website. It is from Hong Kong, dual SIM, the model number is SM-G9550. I am using it in Australia. Now there are two things that I cannot do with it - VoLTE and Samsung Pay. Also the Android 8.0 upgrade is still unavailable for SM-G9550, which is crazy. All mobile carriers in Australia has pushed Oreo upgrade but I cannot get it.
If anyone can help me with my questions here:
1) Can I flash an Australia firmware to my handset? If it is possible, do I have to root it?
2) If it can be flashed with an Australia firmware, is the dual SIM feature still available? I ask because all phones sold in Australia (except those on website and apparently overseas version as mine) the dual SIM feature is banned/locked because the telecom companies don't want to allow competition, and ACCC (the consumer council) is just a puppet.
3) If it can be flashed with Australia firmware, can I turn the VoLTE on? At the moment, it cannot be turned on as there is no such an option in the Settings.
Thanks in advance!
I'm sorry to tell this, but you simply can't flash anything other than the chinese software on this phone. There are two CSCs available for the g9550 which apparently are CHC (open China) and TGY (Hong Kong) according to updato. Both aren't on Android 8 and I'm not sure if they ever will be.
So:
1) No you can't. Australian providers make their software for the australian model (which is the international) G955F.
2)-
3)-
So to look the truth in its face:
You might be better of selling this phone and buying the international g955F, which is compatible with australian firmware. alternatively there is the G955FD, which is dual sim, but (i just googled for 2 minutes so could be wrong) there also is no official australian firmware. What you can do with the g955F/FD is rooting, which could perhaps give you the possibility to flash an australian CSC to the FD, if you really are thinking about buying one, someone could sure give you the answer to if its possible or not

Is it possible to flash HK, NA, or International variant on CN phone?

I have a Chinese Fold 2, in which comes stock with all Chinese apps and lock access to Chinese Samsung app stores and content (I want to get live wallpapers from the Samsung Theme store).
Is there currently a way to flash an HK, NA, or International Fold 2 variant over a stock Chinese F9160 ROM? I couldn't find any ROMs under the ROM section so far, so I'm guessing no, but maybe someone knows something I don't.
Thanks

Question Difference between variants?

Last week I bought the A53, and today I noticed I received the Indian variant (SM-A536E).
I'm from Europe and I bought it from a verified European shop.
I was wondering if this could have any disadvantages?
Like maybe the Indian ROM has more tracking than the European One (because of GDPR or something) or the Radios are different?
Could I for example flash the European ROM through Odin?
Thanks

The biggest difference for most people is going to be the supported frequencies, especially the 5G bands.
For example, I considered getting an international model shipped to me here in the USA (because the USA models cannot have their bootloaders unlocked without exploiting bugs) but decided against it because it wouldn't support one of the major 5G bands used here.
That's the only part of your question I can help with though, I don't know what would happen if you try to flash firmware from a different region.

As for flashing your device to a Hong Kong firmware version, it is possible, but it comes with some risks. It may void your device's warranty, and it may cause potential issues or damage to your device if not done correctly.

If I'm not mistaken, that "u" at the end means it is a USA device from a carrier, meaning that only the carrier can update its firmware. There is no firmware that the user can install.
