Is it possible to flash HK, NA, or International variant on CN phone? - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Questions & Answers

I have a Chinese Fold 2, in which comes stock with all Chinese apps and lock access to Chinese Samsung app stores and content (I want to get live wallpapers from the Samsung Theme store).
Is there currently a way to flash an HK, NA, or International Fold 2 variant over a stock Chinese F9160 ROM? I couldn't find any ROMs under the ROM section so far, so I'm guessing no, but maybe someone knows something I don't.
Thanks

G930F users, Which country?

Planning to try converting GS7 G930FD-Dual SIM to G930F-Single SIM by simply flashing the firmware of G930F.
FYI both are EXYNOS Version
Maybe flashing the right firmware will get the trick working. Will there be any issues with flashing except losing Dual SIM?
Will be good to know in which country is the G930F official sold so as to flash the appropriate firmware from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G930F/
PS: Bought the Duos version because my country only sells it.
Thanks
I would say keep the Duos version. I'd to buy the duos as my country also sells only that version (yes there are other places to get but without warranty) and the best part for me was no bloatware. None at all.
Things that came pre-installed was general google stuff, MS word/excel/onedrive etc, facebook/whatsapp/intagram and the Samsung's own stuff.

Guys may I know which version u have? This is the first time I'm going to try op phone so I don't want to make any unnecessary mistake.
Is there any difference between the two in terms of custom rom and rooting availability(such as samsung's exynos is easier to get custom rom and root than other version) ? Or any custom rom will fit to either version?
BTW I'm living in Indonesia, do both will work just fine on my country or do I need a specific version in order to use it here?
Thanks people.
need the answer too, some people said using A6000 outside india or china the 4g network may not working.

I have a6003 here in the u.s..
I have A6003 here in the UK
6003 here in Australia - this is the official International version.. There is a 6000 version going around, which seems to be India based - but is being sold as a "flashed OS" version and sold internationally. I would highly suggest getting the 6003 - it seems the most compatible
6003 is for europe/us.
6000 is for chinese/india.
The difference is just the supported bands (6003 supports much more) and the rom, the rom can be replaced easily.
6003 for US/EU/GLOBAL
6000 is for China/India (no play services, few bands missing etc)
this information was received from oneplus directly.

Can i buy in china (during my trip) and install a Global ROM?

Hello everyone,
as per the title, can i buy the mi mix 2s in china from a local seller and then switch it to a Global Rom?
Will i encounter bands problem for example? i live in EU
Thank youu
Yes, you can just install the global rom, I'm living in germany and also got the chinese version. You may check what LTE bands are used in your country since the chinese version does not have all the bands the global version has. However, the extra bands the global version has are mostly used in africa and america so chances are good that you'll be fine
Are you entirely sure that the two versions come with different bands? I can't find any confirmation anywhere

Yes they do come with different bands. I do not recommend you buying the chinese variant!
Look for the model that ends with XA ! this is the Global one with all bands.
Trust us. There is a reason for different models to exist.
The Chinese model can install global ROM but you cannot lock bootloader afterwards so it is not safe and many apps will not work.
Global model has more bands than base Chinese models but same as 8/256 Chinese model.
You can, but it would be "better" to buy it and install a rooted ROM from here if you want full features like Android Pay to function.
You can't relock the bootloader if you change from the chinese ROM.
Yes you could, but that may be not suggested depending on the model you want to get...
For 6+64 / 6+128 models, China variant (XE model) differs from global variant (XA model): XE has less band support and you need to keep your BL unlocked to install global ROM. So you'd better not buy these two models in China.
Still, I can show you the missing bands on XE model if you'd like to know, but anyway I don't think it necessary to buy it...
For 8+256 model, there's no two variants, only one XA model for both China and other countries. You should be safe to buy it.
And, if you get XE variant and flash global ROM with BL unlocked, you still cannot install Magisk - you'll see bootloop and then enter recovery. That's another important reason why I don't recommend XE variant. The only way to install Magisk is to install MiPa kernel instead of the stock one.

Firmware and ROMs for Chinese version G9700?

I have the chance of getting for quite cheap a Chinese version of the S10e. While I've read that it should work alright where I live as it is, it seems I can't install a different International firmware. Would that prevent me from installing future custom ROMs? If yes, is it possible to change the firmware?
Also, is it possible to install a Hong Kong firmware? Both versions are G9700, but I suppose the HK firmware is more international and has Google Play.
Got the same phone last week from China. HK firmware is a must. You can easily flash it with Odin. Unfortunately you can't flash other official firmwares.

HK firmware is similar to EU or US, right? Do you get OTAs after flashing?

yeah, both the Samsung S10 Note10 series . the HK version and the China Mainland version, their hardware are all the same. So of course you can get OTA after flashing a Chinese Mainland version S10's ROM into HK version ROM.
BTW, you guys get a Chines mainland version cheap ? Chinese Mainland verion is the most expensive version for us, all of us tries to buy a HK Version Samsung smartphone and Flash it into Chinese Mainland ROM, for the HK version is Cheaper.

are you referring to Mainland S10e as SM-G9708 and HK S10e as SM-G9700? so both firmwares are interchangable?
I have a SM-G9708 (bought from China Mobile; with China Mobile bootscreen), i also got Google Services and Play Store working on it. But Google Pay doesn't work. So i thought later, when i move back to Europe, to flash HK firmware to get Google Pay working.

it's very odd that Samsung has Chinese mobile customized S10 series (which has Chinese Mobile bootscreen). ,for Samsung has less than 1% smart phone market share in China. BTB, almost all the Samsung phones' models in China Mainland has the same hardware as the HK version. So Flash a HK rom to your S10e is feasible. BTW, you can even try Unlocking oem and flash a customized ROM, available on this forum:

Question How can I replace the Chinese version system with the EU one?

I just asked realme EU. The 12+512GB version won't show itself in Europe. I just wonder if I can buy one from China and replace the Chinese version system with EU version.
Yes but why you want to do that? Chinese ROM has native call recording feature out of the box! European ROM don't have that feature.
Yes, you can order the phone from China, I purchased it on Giztop (12/256 GB 80W model, RMX3560).
The global ROM is available for RMX3560 only: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-flash-india-version-rom-on-rmx3560-80w.4468789/
It's the same as the European version.
Then you can root the phone using Magisk. There is a call recorder module for it, if you need it.
So, if you want GT Neo 3 with the global ROM, and you want to root it, you should order the RMX3560 80W model. The EU version cannot be rooted.
By the way, I don't recommend this phone, it is designed for the Chinese market, and has no community supporting it outside China.
The main reason I don't recommend this phone is the MediaTek SoC, as it means that there will not be custom ROMs developed for it (+ due to the lack of community support).
Half a year has passed since this phone has been released, I recommend to choose another phone, which has an active community on XDA, and custom ROMs, kernels, and recoveries are available for it.
