S6 screen glass replacement - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have been wondering whether or not should I buy a screen protector for my s6 I love the feel of the phone, also I hate screen protectors in general.Anyways,I was checking the price of the screen glass which is around 22$ but the digitizer 200$.Is it possible to replace the screen glass only without the digitizer? If yes, what are the odds of breaking the digitizer if the phone falls from my hands?I was willing to buy a transparent cover only when I go out.

i too would like to know this.......dropped my phone the other day, and even w/ a case, the way it hit it put a small crack in the glass (not the lcd) and i would like to know so i can buy a replacement glass as well as a different colored bezel
There are many screens on eBay for the galaxy s3.
Just look up "galaxy s3 glass"
Keep it mind, the glass and the LCD is glue onto each other.
Those component are then stuck onto the frame of the GS3 by VERY strong adhesive.
The glass can be changed without purchasing the whole assembly which costs around $250 USD
But the risk of the LCD breaking is very high. The replacement isn't impossible, but just very difficult.
You need a lot of patience and heat to get the broken glass away from the LCD assembly.

[Q] Do soft screen protectors help the screen from cracking when you drop your S3?

I had the Spectre Tempured Glass screen protector on my S3, until I dropped it twice and the Spectre broke. Shortly after that I dropped my S3 again and the Screen broke. I got my insurance replacement and another Spectre, and dropped my phone again and the Spectre got a hairline crack. I am trying to save money and don't want to keep buying more expensive screen protectors if I don't have to. If I got more common screen protectors like Zagg or Skinomi will it help prevent the S3 screen from cracking as well or close to tempured glass protectors? Or am I better off to keep buying tempured glass so I dont have to risk another insurance replacement? I do have the Seidio Active extended case but I think each time I dropped my phone the case was off. My only complaint of softer screen protectors is the mushy feeling, while I love the glass feeling, but don't want to spend extra money if I don't really have to.
Your best bet would be stop dropping your phone. I don't use a case and up until this moment I've never dropped it.
And to answer your question, I do believe the screen protector may have been the reason your screen didn't crack the first two times.

Tempered Glass Screen Guard

Have no idea when will the tempered glass screen protector will be released...never use the common screen protective film as start to know the tempered glass guard, the 8H hardness protection makes the screen protector a nothing one....expect the glass guard comes early for my new GS4 mate...

You will see "replacement" GS4 digitizers on eBay very soon. You know, the <$10 glass panels that have no digitizer circuitry but people buy them thinking they can fix it themselves and remove the old broken but still functional digitzer by themselves and destroy the display because AMOLED panels are extremely fragile.
I got one for $3.49 intentionally for my Galaxy S2. It works very well!

Would rather get a protective glass protector for the replacement screen guard is not a good solution, prevention is better than the fix...
I don't understand why people buy this or any screen protector.
I don't use wallet so i have my phone in my pocket shaking with some coins all day long.
After almost one year... No scratches at all.
Usually, if you change your screen, it's because you have broken it and a screen protector, tempered or not will not change anything in this case.
Maybe i missed something about those protections but it seems useless since Coring produce glasses for smartphones.
For me any scratches on display of my phone very annoying part of my life, and I don't want disassembly my phone, much more easy change the screen protector. Also, I hate plastic protectors, they are really sucks.

I have the same question, but I think that is what he means. It's actually a pretty good idea....if it worked. Which I doubt it would. The only question is then, how would it adhere to the screen?

Easy. You just screw in the four corners with really small screws. lmao

S5 glass replacement, screen perfectly fine

Anyone know where I can get glass replaced at reasonably. Everyone I talk to here in Austin, TX states that they just want $150 and will replace the entire LCD and glass. My LCD is fine but the glass is lifting on the corners. I watched all of the videos and it's something that I don't want to tackle myself.
Thanks for the help.
You need to get a new LCD as well. The glass is glued on to the LCD and it's like a 90% chance you will crack the LCD while trying to remove the glass from it. 150 is not a bad price considering the price for that LCD is 130.
Also if you do end up fixing your screen get those glass screen protectors and a case.

screen protector for 2.5d curved screen without gorilla glass

Hi, I just bought a new smartphone, meizu 16th which has a 2.5d (slightly curved) screen.
Apparently, the screen hasn't got any kind of protective layer in it like gorilla glass, and since it's not a popular phone, it's impossible to find tempered glass screen protector from a good company with user's opinions online. Cheap screen protector's on aliexpress has mostly bad reviews: bubbles, not sticking, doesn't cover the whole screen.
I feel like my choice is a cheap aliexpress screen protector with an unknown quality that doesn't cover the whole screen + an envelope case, but since the phone has no gorilla glass, I'm afraid it won't be enough to protect the screen from breaking.
is there some other best protective solution?
