i too would like to know this.......dropped my phone the other day, and even w/ a case, the way it hit it put a small crack in the glass (not the lcd) and i would like to know so i can buy a replacement glass as well as a different colored bezel

There are many screens on eBay for the galaxy s3.
Just look up "galaxy s3 glass"
Keep it mind, the glass and the LCD is glue onto each other.
Those component are then stuck onto the frame of the GS3 by VERY strong adhesive.
The glass can be changed without purchasing the whole assembly which costs around $250 USD
But the risk of the LCD breaking is very high. The replacement isn't impossible, but just very difficult.
You need a lot of patience and heat to get the broken glass away from the LCD assembly.

I9020A new glass screen

Is it possible to change the glass over the screen not the digitizer and other components with most of the screens they sell on ebay, and if so how is the installation?
Checkout repair guide in the general section, seems pretty informative. I think the digitizer and screen address one unit with this device- cannot be replaced separately. There are post in that thread that address this issue; it cautions against purchasing kit on eBay that claim to target digitizer or the screen separately. Please post your findings here in case others may have similar issues.

Well, it's very outdated (4 years now), but I'm posting this for anyone who will google for the instructions of howto change the glass only, like myself.
The protective glass is glued to the digitizer glass.
It's not very strong glue, BUT! The digitizer is much more fragile then the protective glass and any try to separate them (even with thinnest tool) will most probably end up with digitizer broken and cracked.
The only way is to change the whole unit - digitizer, LCD and the glass (usually costs ~50-80$ + shipment).
So the question if to fix it, or just to buy a new phone for 300$ is open.
PS. If I only had the name of that genius Gnusmas engineer who invented this finest idea: to glue up the digitizer and the protective glass... It would have been a good demotivator.

Tempered Glass Screen Guard

Have no idea when will the tempered glass screen protector will be released...never use the common screen protective film as start to know the tempered glass guard, the 8H hardness protection makes the screen protector a nothing one....expect the glass guard comes early for my new GS4 mate...

You will see "replacement" GS4 digitizers on eBay very soon. You know, the <$10 glass panels that have no digitizer circuitry but people buy them thinking they can fix it themselves and remove the old broken but still functional digitzer by themselves and destroy the display because AMOLED panels are extremely fragile.
I got one for $3.49 intentionally for my Galaxy S2. It works very well!

Would rather get a protective glass protector for the replacement screen guard is not a good solution, prevention is better than the fix...
I don't understand why people buy this or any screen protector.
I don't use wallet so i have my phone in my pocket shaking with some coins all day long.
After almost one year... No scratches at all.
Usually, if you change your screen, it's because you have broken it and a screen protector, tempered or not will not change anything in this case.
Maybe i missed something about those protections but it seems useless since Coring produce glasses for smartphones.
For me any scratches on display of my phone very annoying part of my life, and I don't want disassembly my phone, much more easy change the screen protector. Also, I hate plastic protectors, they are really sucks.

I have the same question, but I think that is what he means. It's actually a pretty good idea....if it worked. Which I doubt it would. The only question is then, how would it adhere to the screen?

Easy. You just screw in the four corners with really small screws. lmao

S6 screen glass replacement

So I have been wondering whether or not should I buy a screen protector for my s6 I love the feel of the phone, also I hate screen protectors in general.Anyways,I was checking the price of the screen glass which is around 22$ but the digitizer 200$.Is it possible to replace the screen glass only without the digitizer? If yes, what are the odds of breaking the digitizer if the phone falls from my hands?I was willing to buy a transparent cover only when I go out.

S5 glass replacement, screen perfectly fine

Anyone know where I can get glass replaced at reasonably. Everyone I talk to here in Austin, TX states that they just want $150 and will replace the entire LCD and glass. My LCD is fine but the glass is lifting on the corners. I watched all of the videos and it's something that I don't want to tackle myself.
Thanks for the help.
You need to get a new LCD as well. The glass is glued on to the LCD and it's like a 90% chance you will crack the LCD while trying to remove the glass from it. 150 is not a bad price considering the price for that LCD is 130.
Also if you do end up fixing your screen get those glass screen protectors and a case.

Replacement Digitizer

Does anyone know where I can purchase an OEM Corning digitizer for this phone? I ordered a Centarus from Amazon but it was really crappy quality. Thanks!
I've bought from this store on aliexpress and it was good, like original on the screen quality, just the glass wasn't the same but good enough! https://aliexpress.com/item/32981812610.html
Is it possible to change only front glass and not LCD ? LCD is 100$ plus, but glass is only 20$ max.

Pretty sure the glass is part of the whole thing.
I'm sure it is. But it's possible to heat it and remove it? A don't think is possible but maybe I'm wrong
it should be but you probably don't have the equipment to do it without braking the lcd.
https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/652495/How+would+I+separate+my+glass+and+lcd+from+the+digitizer this is for an amoled screen, for an lcd it should be easier but still...
So it's cheaper to buy glass with LCD.
