Is there any way to prevent automatic connections of the GPRS/3G? Or when a internet connection is required, have a question first asking which connection we want to use?
Thanks
Nvm, guess you meant for data only.

Yes, of course
Its very annoying when the data connection starts without our permission, specially in roaming

Almost there!!!
Is there a way to create a nokia style application that will bring up a window each time an application wants to connect to internet, asking you witch of your data connections and WiFi connection you want to use!!!
So that you'll choose connection first.

The option to set a Static IP is not in the Wifi Settings as I would expect it to be, so I would hazard a guess that you can't do that natively with the Xoom at this time. Perhaps there is a third party app of some kind that could.
yes use ip static

Is there any way to lock my Optimus 7 into 3G signal and not let it fall back to EDGE/GPRS when 3G is available with weakest signal? Happens a lot and its annoying.
The default behavior is to use the highest-speed connection. If it's falling back to EDGE, that's almost certainly because the error threshold was too high for useful connectivity.
There is a way to turn off 3G (which is also much more battery-hungry) but I don't know of one to turn off EDGE. You could look around in the disagnostics app for a way to specify the thresholds used, though, and myabe tweak them (the HD7 diag app shows the current setup but doesn't let us change it).

I was facing the same issue with the 3G signal. Check my post below for solution. Works for my HTC 7 Pro not sure about LG Devices.

One more trick I would like to share is to create a contact with the name as 3G and the phone no as ##3282# and pit it to the start so that when u restart the phone u have easy access to the menu access to the menu.

Hey,
I just got the Moto G and noticed that IEEE 802.1x is not working.
When I try to connect, a dialog pops up but there is no possibility to enter the credentials.
Does anyone got it working?
I have found a way to make it connect - at least it worked for me! You have to select the network from the list but while it's trying to connect, you have to long press on the network and select modify to bring up the settings window. Then just enter your settings as normal.
I only had to do this once to set up the network and now it connects automatically.

Ok, thanks for your answer.
I think I tried that, is it important to open the edit window while it is connecting?
But I returned the phone yesterday, and will wait until a bug free version is available.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't let me get to the full settings dialog unless I tricked it by doing the long press while it's connecting. It's not a huge deal for me since it's possible to bodge this and everything else about the phone is amazing! Anyway, in sure they will fix it at some point with an update. Hope you manage to get another soon.
Please contact motorola on twitter and link them here. They seem to react pretty good and it is better to have such bugs ironed out as soon as possible. There already are bugs in the recovery and the apk install bug, so you should report this one as well, so they can fix them all in one update

Hey Ghost16,
What is the EAP method and phase 2 Authentication type of the 802.1x AP you are trying to connect?
What is the pop-up you see when trying to connect to 802.1x?
Can you enter your credentials in WifiSettings screen , Settings->WifiSettings1. Long press the 802.1x AP?
Modify network option comes up where you can select the Modify Network option. There, can you select the EAP method and enter the required credentials?
Cheers,
Nicole

Just to inform you guys.. The hotspot mod where you download Shortcut Master Lite from the play store and edit the 2Apn's by adding "dun" is working on the Sprint Note 8. ???
Any hotspot for Note 20 like "dun" ?
Anyone try this or something similiar on Note20 ?
Dbzfan said:
If your having issues
Please note that cre1 update will unpatch the hotspot after few minutes of using. You will have to downgrade to Crd7 (Odin) for this patch to work and ignore the update.
Dont update past Crd7
Steps:
Dial

Click yes
Let it do its thing
Open shortcutmaster
Click menu
Click app explorer
Find com.test.lte*****
Click ltefunctionitytest & Launch
Click Lte apn setting
Under apn type ADD DUN

Edit the "APN2 LTE internet"
Look for the "APN type"
The Default should be " default, mms"
Add ",dun" to the end of it.
And the finish product should be "default, mms, dun"
Make sure you save your modification. Hope this helps.

Do a search for "LTE"
Look for the instance "LTEFunctionality Test" "com.test.LTEFunctionality"
Once open, look for "LTE APN Settings"
There should be two which you can edit, the first is " APN2 EHRPD internet"
The second is APN2 LTE internet, this is the one you would like to edit.
Scroll down to "APN type" and add the ",dun" and done.
What if its shaded out how can we get it to work then.

Download Shortcut Master (Lite) from the playstore and perform your APN edits from the app.
Unlimited?
So this would be unlimited hotspot on my unlimited network from Sprint? and also I noticed that it wont let me open my sprint app anymore after adding ,dun
My guess this happens due to block the app from tracking your hotspot usage? I have 10GB of hot spot and I used this method then went back to normal settings again without ,dun and restarted my phone the My sprint app opened and well I be damned but it did not track my usage I still have 0 data out of 10GB used! I guess I will just have to disable it when I want to check my activity on the My sprint app, this is awesome!!! :good:
If I'm wrong please let me know

Or you could simply check your activity on the web via PC.
Personally I don't even bother, as it's unlimited. Or, reset the changes and change back whenever you get curious. Either way works

Oh yeah went thru the same thing using this method on the s7 with the unlocked firmware. I couldn't believe it wasn't registering, because I wasn't rooted. It's true though, it works. I would test it jus like you're thinking, by using the hotspot without the mod. It would count the data up while I watched. Then I made these edits, and BOOM! No more data was showing on the hotspot usage on the Sprint site. Didn't have any issues for a year. Then the phone broke [emoji28]

Not working QI5. Hotspot turns on, and I'm able to log in to hotspot, but no data. After turning off hotspot, I have to switch airplane mode on and off to get data back. Weird stuff.
