Hey,
MIUI is a really beautiful ROM and I use it as my main rom, but I miss the feature of taking photos with HDR (I tried the stock camera app and Google camera). I read on the MIUI forums (see *here*) that this is due the missing of some libraries. The UNOFFICIAL MIUIv5 Multilanguage rom (*here*) does support HDR though. Is there a way to flash these libraries and get HDR support on Stock MIUI?

You'd have to compile the rom yourself. But I'm guessing it's not to easy to add those libraries or they'd be there

Just flash this over MIUI and you get HDR modus + the new google camera.

I don't think they will. We should in theory be using lollipop by now, so why bother?

I would be much more interested if we see a flashable zip file of the updated files for Lollipop users, as I don't want to dirty flash or start from scratch with setting up my device. It's just a huge PITA.

My nexus 5 is rooted and has xposed installed. Would flashing these new factory images mean I would have to reinstall my apps etc?
I notice they seem to have patched versions of both kitkat and lollipop which is nice of Google.
I do agree that just a zip file of the patch would have been easier for some of us.

Switching your SMS/MMS client doesn't protect you. Stagefright can be exploited in other apps and Web browsers you use. Upgrade to Lollipop and get it patched at a system level.

libs for CM11 Kitkat 4.4.4 also needed as none are found for legacy devices such as Skyrocket S2, S3, etc.

What's also better:
- Pro Mode:
* raw toggle
* custom presets
- Auto Mode
* better exposure control (swipe up/down; the circle control was the dumbest thing ever!)
* Selfie Flash
Who knows what more under-the-hood-changes have been implemented...
This is probably the same "port" that has been posted on the OnePlus Forums.
If it is, it's useless as it does not deliver the same quality as the current stock camera app.

Also keep in mind that the port messes with the stock camera app!
HQ postprocessing won't work on the stock app as long as the port is installed.
Deinstalling it causes "processing" to be displayed while the photo is being stored.
To fix this you need to reboot your device.
No HDR, No 60 fps and after change ISO the app can't take pictures
No new news about this app?

Camera2 required on my moto g4 plus it's working

I've installed you apk on a i9505 with a 7.1 ROM, Camera2 api do works because i can launch and take photos with Camera2 Api ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ronakpatel1311.androidcameraapi2&hl=it )
The app crash whenever at start, i can barely see 1second of camera streaming and then it force close...
Any fix? Do I have to install libraries or such?
Please help... I just want latest version of Photosphere... Google Camera 2.x have low resolution...

And you can start Video Recording by minimising the resolution of video recording in Settings...
And on my Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 running Lineage OS 14.1,
It works fine (Camera2 API Enabled)...
But on my Lenovo ZUK Z1 running Lineage OS 14.1 (Camera2 API Enabled too), it is crashing down...
And it's amazing, my ZUK Z1 has better specs than my Samsung J2, still it is not working...
Do you have any idea?

Camera2 api work mostly on stock rom except if rom developer has implement in there custom rom.
I love that you're doing this. I didn't think the UI from 4.4 would work on a 32-bit os, but here you are proving me wrong.
I have been using the 32-bit 4.2 version from the Nexus 5x on my Moto G5 plus, and it has working hdr+ and lens blur features. But the focus in regular camera mode doesn't work (I'm guessing a mismatch between how the Moto focuses and how the Nexus did- focus in video mode seems to work because I'm guessing it falls back to contrast detection).
In the 64-bit v4.4 Google camera, however, there are settings to change the camera mode and therefore also fix the focus issue.
Is there any way to Port this UI and use the libraries etc from the working 4.2? Or perhaps if you put back the Hexagon DSP module into this one- wasn't that the one responsible for the HDR+ processing?

I have created this thread to discuss the fact that if anyone was able to extract the Stock MIUI camera application for Redmi Note 8/8T (ginkgo/willow).
As we all know that using Gcam gives better photo quality but Gcam isn't fully compatible with our device. The wide angle lens, macro lens and I also believe the depth sensing lens don't work on Gcam hence not using the full capacity of the device camera hardware.
It will be great to have the Stock camera application alongside with Gcam so that we have better quality images using Gcam and also use the other camera features using stock camera application when needed.
Also anyone having the required knowledge to extract the Stock Camera application can provide a guide as I own the phone and am willing to get the application.
Well you're right, and in fact i'm already using both camera's applications when needed and i find this great!
It IS possible to extract the stock Camera apk simply using an app like Skit or ApkExtractorLite (but i strongly recommend the 1st one), no need to guide, it's simply as a couple of taps. Just done so on my phone as a test and it works. Maybe it's not exchangeable between different variants like from Global to India, China or another region, but it should be fine if on same version.
Have you tried doing it by yourself or you're in need of the APK file?

I own an Indian variant of device. It will be really helpful if you provide a link for the apk.
Also, users owning devices of different regions can post their Stock Camera apk by extracting the application using the above mentioned applications so that everyone can use them.

Version 165 working fine on pie roms. On Android Q for now, macro and wide lens don't working.
Apk depend on lot of libs and Xml files, porting from Miui is hard cuz apk using Miui framework so no chance to work on any Aosp without smali debugging... Only easy way is to port from Mi A3 laurel_sprout becouse that apk don't depend on Miui framework and will work on any device running aosp with just few tweeks, but you need to find all libs, xml, and other files for camera and make Magisk module. All needee files are in system/lib-lib64 system/etc vendor/lib_lib64 vendor/etc

Xiaomi Devices already have ANX camera, which is pure port of MIUI stock cam for custom roms.
flash anx cam module from magisk download sections and you will be able to use all the lenses (in pie roms). Aux in Q roms are work in progress.

Just extracting the original miui cam.apk (from/when in miui - and then flashing a custom rom - and then try to install that apk) - will not work - u cant install it (just says failed to install)
I just tried. - I am a total NEWBIE to this custom rom stuff - but yesterday - my 168 hours was finally over so that I could unlock bootloader (on my redmi note8t-willow) flashed Pixel experience and - well: (I found a rom made by darkJoker and installed that - but the camera had no 0.6x wideangle) - so then I tried the official Pixel Experience rom from download.pixelexperience.org/ginkgo - and it worked like a charm! The camera app is EXACTLY like it was in the miui 11. WITH wideangle AND macro (I had reservations because it said "ginkgo" and NOT willow - but wow - it worked and excellently so).

hi, I just want to tell my test on ANXCamera_190 with MIUICamera_v4.3.002191
my device is Redmi Note 8 ginkgo rooted with PixelExperience
the official build was okay but its an older version of MIUICamera and with bugs cant save to sd card, so I got a trick to update its camera to MIUICamera_v4.3.002191.
you can follow this steps
-install ANXCamera as usual (i was using ANXCamera_190R).
-download MIUICamera_v4.3.002191 from apkmirror
-rename it to ANXCamera.apk
-use any file manager with root access to replace system/priv-app/ANXCamera/ANXCamera.apk with new downloaded file.
-restart
-enjoy
tested with PixelExperience plus 11 and 12
