UHD video recording on RN4

Hi RN4 users, this is my first post.
Just want to share the info, that RN4 can record UHD/4K using any 3rd party camera from Google Play, that supports 4K recirding.
Tested on apps like Google Camera and CameraMX (com.magix.camera_mx)

MTK too or only SD?

no need to flash...just install any camera from google play, that supports 4k recording...
rn4 hardware is compatible, but not implimented by xiaomi....
dont know about mtk model, but it should work as camera module are same

Working great on RN4 SD Global!
Tested with CameraMX and video resolution is 3840x2160 at 24 frames/sek.
Picture quality is superb however I don't need this resolution for the moment since I don't have any 4K TV or monitor home (yet !)

No chance ((
We need kernel support for that. Even LeEco camera + Libs (from helio x20 phone) didn't work. Only FullHD.

Really close to the stock camera and hdr working.
Hoply the dev will improve it over the time.
It got really less futures.
But its what we need.
I find a bug.
Wen i start to record a video the video become dark.

Not really, HDR is not working but videos are bright, not dark as Google camera port.
Using both, Google cam HDR+ port for pictures, mi cam for videos.

Video from back camera working and also its not dark too.
Beautify working. The only thing not working here is Group Selfie.

[PORT]MIUI Camera Universal Port

Xiaomi began to sell its first Android One phone Mi A1, it has original AOSP official ROM,but with a MIUI Camera.This means Xiaomi has ported the MIUI Cam to AOSP ROM,and this enables us to extract and port MIUI camera to any devices on any ROMs (in theory).
And it has been ported by many people to many Xiaomi devices with non-miui ROMs flashed .
However ,that MIUI cam app still needs much device-specific modifications and even needs to install many files into /system with a flashable zip.
It's a long and hard process to port it device by device. It's also needs root and unlocked bootloader to put files into system partition.
So the MIUI Camera Universal Port aims to port MIUI Camera into a common apk file that you just need to click and install.
Currently it's in early stage and have problems using some functions.
Important:This app will not remind you (showing a toast or dialog )to allow permissions.You need to enable all permissions of this app in settings. Go to Settings - Apps ,click MIUI camera and open permissions - enable all.

It worked!
Setted up all permission and it works without any problem. Flash, camera, video, selfie everything works. It's actually better than Snap Camera that came with my ROM.

Do you have non-miui rom installed,and don't have another camera app exist in system? You don't need it if you have MIUI ROM.
And make sure the existing camera app's package name isn't com.android.camera or it will have problems installing because Android will think this app and your existing app are the same.

It should work if other third party cam works.

Doesn't work on Mi5s with LOS15

I got FC when activate dual camera on photomode, in video mode is working. (Xiaomi.eu on redmi pro)

Do you think you could port new version (I think) that have auto HDR with flash ?
There is one on Redmi Note section but panorama doesn't works.

Thanks for this. Works perfectly on Galaxy A5 2017.

Works well on the LG aristo running lineage 14.1
Only issue I experienced was using the beautify function for the front camera.

Work in Galaxy A5 2017. (A520F)

Not work in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Works perfectly on my Redmi 2 running MIUI 9 by miuipro.
Some issue are that group selfie mode crashes the app, and video HDR causes camera to freeze. Using Apkeditor I changed package name to avoid conflicts.

Well, the default MIUI camera that comes with MIUI 9 has no advanced features like manual focus, tilt-shift, video mode pause, etc on my Redmi 2, so this adds these features back without needing Xposed (I used to use MIUI 8 tweaks for that)

Awesome port! My camera app of my axon 7 mini is broken (produces just grey pictures). This one is feature rich and works almost flawlessly (panorama function FC's, but that's ok )

I tested it on stock android nougat version and cyanogen mod 5.1
It work perfectly not ant crashes

I installed and it works.but immediatelly playstore recognised it and I uptated through it! (before,I couldn't find it inside play store) good news!

NOT a exclusive Magisk version, it's system flash:
- Magisk provide portrait option on back camera (see above)
Mods by me :
-app launcher name (clear view of what camera u launch)
-app package name (avoid compatibility with another cam app like Gcam)
