USB port cover broke off - Sony Xperia M2

So after 7 months from being new, the USB flap fell off. Is there any improved construction on the market? Also, any howto tutorial to replace it?

Also, I guess the cover has to be disassembled, because part of the flap (the "leg") remained in the phone,so it has to be removed before new flap install...

I'm guessing it's a aqua model if it's a USB flap as other models only have the sim/sd cover. Look on Amazon and eBay plenty of spare parts available probably not that expensive for the part from Sony.

Yes, aqua model. I've been looking on ebay/amazon but haven't found anything relevant. Could you show me where to find it?

There you go amazing what you can find using GOOGLE http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Side-Caps-S...D2403-D2406-Copper-New-ORIGINAL-/161606242558

[Q] Hoping to get an answer

I picked up an HTC Surround (Branded AT&T) on eBay and the seller stated that he had tried to unlock it with an XTC box of some kind.
After he tried to do that, the touch screen no longer worked.
I replaced the touch screen, figuring that it may have gone bad, but even after doing so, it still did not work. I have replaced close to 100 touchscreens on various HTC models so I don't believe that the screen is the problem.
I flashed it with a stock Cingular ROM and it does come up just fine but the touch screen still don't work.
Does anybody here have a suggestion/solution to that particular problem with the HTC Surround phones.????

What physical mods are there for the One X?

Well, the 1-Year limited warranty is soon to run out on my device, and I'm considering modding the hardware a bit seeing as I've modded it on the software side a ton.
I know of the red capacitive nav button mod and am also considering swapping out the battery for a 35H00197-00M 2100mAh One X+ battery, but what else can I do while I'm in there? Are there any mods for the antennas? Better WiFi and cell reception would be very nice. Should I clean out the mics or speakers or anything? Is it possible to mod the camera, perhaps? Change the lens or something, maybe? Should I replace the LED flash with a new one since I've used this one quite a bit already? Is there any way to improve the notification LED? Put a larger RGB one in there, maybe? I know ElementalX has BLN, but a usable notification LED would be nicer.

[Q] Camera flash not working

Hi all,
Just bought a second hand Xperia Z3 off eBay which had a smashed back screen. The price was low enough that it was worth buying just to simply replace the broken back glass (or so I thought).
I have a replacement back panel and the plan was to take the old heat gun, pry off the old smashed backing and replace it and all's good with world. Before I went ahead and did anything though, I wanted to test that the phone was otherwise in good working order. All functions seem to be working fine throughout my testing, except for when I came to using the camera flash.
Whether it's trying to use it as a camera flash or as a torch function, I cannot get the light to turn on at all. I don't want to open the case up just yet, so I have been doing research trying to find flash replacement parts before I crack the back off it and try replacing it.
I haven't been able to find any flash leds specifically, but from the pictures of disassembled z3's it seems like the flash led is not actually on the camera part, but is rather on the mainboard? Could anybody confirm if this is the case? And if it is indeed connected to the mainboard and I'm up for a replacement, what costs would I be looking at? Would I be able to simply buy a mainboard and swap the new for the old or is there more to it than that?
The model is an unlocked D6653.
By the way
by the way, I have test pressure sensor already, and it is normal.
ahhh, sorry, I reply in wrong thread...
Here is the teardown of the Z3 by iFixit:

And another:

Thanks for that. Damn...the closer I look at it, the more and more it's looking like the flash unit is indeed part of the main board.

z3 fake?

(i didn't post this in q & a, because i want to make this an open discussion about fake devices)
the first sony xperia z3 i had was around 70€ cheaper than most of the other z3's online.
the serial number flap in the usb port was missing.
the nfc logo and sony logo on the back were grey and not silver shining.
backlight wasn't same brightness at all parts af the screen (very little).
back glass crack and random screen digitizer crack appeared after 2months.
after had gotten a full replacement after i send it to service, i noticed that this one is faster and the battery also seems to last slightly longer.
bootloader unlock worked without issues over the official sony website.
curstom roms and kernels worked flawlessly.
what was going on with my past one?
how can it be unlocked by sony and install kernels and roms, but yet seems to be fake, and sony replaces it?
The previous owner probably cracked the back and replaced it with a new back which might explain it looking different.
My NFC and Xleria logos are not shining, I'm guessing more was wrong with the phone than he originally said

Microphone and GPS not working after screen replacement (E6653)

Hi!
I broke the screen from my Xperia Z5. I ordered a new one from ebay with the screen and frame, installed it, and afterwards the mic and GPS are not working. I ordered a new microphone thinking I broke it when disassembling the phone, but even with the new one it doesn't work. Does anyone have any tips on what to try before I get rid of the phone?
Google didn't help much except that someone had the same mic problem with the original Xperia Z - didn't work after screen replacement. Also I couldn't find any info on where the GPS is located on the Z5 so I could check it for damages or something.
I replaced my screen too, but I haven't got any issues. Maybe you broke the motherboard connectors
