stock camera app disappeared - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Been messing with xposed on XtreStoLite Deodex 2.2 with my 920T. I had to restore a backup that was working perfectly fine before.. Upon flashing the backup, my stock camera is gone. I see the folder/apk in the system/app location..
Any suggestions on how to easily get it back?

Well that was weird. I reflashed my backup and now the camera is back.
EDIT: Update, after it came back.. i did a normal reboot and it disappeared again. wtf

flash the rom over your backup.

Stock->CM7.1->Stock. NFC not working.

Okay i have a stock nadroid backup, I flashed the latest CM7.1 stable. I had all kinds of freeze problems, So i decided to restore my stock backup.
Noticed a problem, NFC on my phone is not working with stock, If i restore the CM7.1 backup it works, But in stock it says error.
i wiped data/cache/dalvik and formatted system/boot/cache and data also.
I even tried flashing a 2.3.4 stock ROM and updating to 2.3.6, Still the NFC doesnt work , Any ideas of what i can do?
Looks like you've done pretty much everything ;;; how about trying any other roms (other than stock and CM), and see what happens???

I guess you might have deleted some other important files along with those pre-installed apps which is causing bootloop or not starting at all. So taking backup at this state is useless. Only reflashing a fresh stock ROM is good for getting it revived.

Alternative Option:No Noob [email protected]
Push the apps which you deleted back to their positions,
Via adb commanda to their location,
Hit Hit THANKS!!! If And Only If I Helped You
Reflash with stock rom.
I guess thats the only way to recover from boot loop.
Why don't you try custom ROM instead? Way better than stock ROM. If you don't want custom ROMs, I would suggest a clean install of stock ROM, don't attempt to modify.

[Q] Wifi and Camera broken after 4.4.3 update

I have root, s-off, using TWRP recovery. I backed up everything on my external SD card with TWRP, ran (what I think is) RUU to get a clean install and was able to update to 4.4.3. After update, I put TWRP back on, and restored all my apps, still have s-off and root. A couple of things didn't restore (like Tasker), but I chalked that up to them probably being on the internal storage and then erased.
Everything else seemed to be working fine, but my WiFi will not turn on, and the default Sense camera opens to a completely black screen.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ian

To be correct, you are running a 4.4.3 ROM with 4.4.3 firmware right? Also when you try to enable wifi from the status bar does it simply endlessly show its trying to turn it on?
Perhaps a viable option would be to try a factory reset via TWRP, I sometimes encounter issues when doing that after a firmware update. Actually my 4.4.3 was so messed up because of restoring apps that I was forced to go back to my 4.4.2 ROM. Soo as I said, since you have a backup I'd just at least give factory reset a try and if it doesn't fix it then you can restore your backup again.
Try another kernel, I had the same issues

I'm kinda new to all this flashing/recovery stuff. How exactly do I use another kernel?

Through TWRP. I put it back on after the update and restored the apps and data (not the system) from the backup I'd made previously.
You could try and flash the stock rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2874699 through twrp and see if it works for you. Don't wipe anything, just try flashing on top of what you have. Might work.

Do I do that through TWRP or through the bootloader?. Sorry, again I'm still new at this.

Your posts didn't really make clear what exactly you did: From which rom you took the TWRP nandroid, which rom you restored it back to, what you mean by "you think you ran a RUU", what exactly from the nandroid you restored in TWRP....
Did you restore all of /data? If you did, you restored way more than just your apps and may have compatability issues.
Restoring /data IMHO is not a good idea after doing a firmware upgrade and flashing a corresponding rom.
A better strategy would be to backup just your apps and their data in TiBu and only restore those after you flashed the new firmware and the new rom.
Here's what I would do:
Factory reset in TWRP
Reflash the rom
Reinstall your apps (this time from scratch, next time you'll have a TiBu backup).

How to restore a TWRP backup?

E6683 (dual)
Stock Malaysia ROM (MM 305)
Rooted with rooted stock kernel
TWRP is 3.0.2.0
I've had this setup for months working nicely.
I did a full TWRP backup, tried N, didn't like it (for now) and so did a restore from the backup. Following a restore, it is stuck in Recovery! As in, when I reboot System, it just bounces back to Recovery.
I could try putting stock MM back on and then restoring, but before I do, are there any quicker tricks to getting the TWRP backup working again?
TIA
m
You should have switched back to MM before restoring your backup.
There are no other way around you have to switch back to THE SAME VERSION OF MM you were using during the backup.
Don't try this in the future you could brick your phone

Interesting... thank you. I would estimate I've done a TWRP restore across all phones perhaps 500 times. At a guess, I'd estimate 80% between the same version, so maybe 100 between versions. On this particular phone, this may be the first time I've tried it - I forget, I do so many. So, I'm intrigued: why? Or to put it another way: do you know what it is that TWRP fails to back up successfully or indeed restore successfully that causes this problem in the first place?
EDIT: I restored the MM stock rom (re rooted) and restored the TWRP backup and it worked fine - i'm back on MM.

snap chat fix?

Hi can someone please help me out. Last night i had to reflash the rom for some reason my phone kept on shutting off and rebooting on its own, so i reflashed the rom and its working fine again, the problem i'm having is i cant log into my snapchat again. i had the same issue when i first flashed the rom and was instructed to use "suhide-gui" and back then it worked. I tried the same method again and its not working now. Is there a fix for this? I've been using Jovy's Darthstalker Rom btw.
snapchat fix
there is only one method that works for sure and it's pretty painful.
1) You have to reflash fully stock (no su, root etc) than download snapchat, login.
2) After doing so, flash rom without wiping anything
3) let it reboot it should work.
Extra info
If you want to wipe everything and flash other rom and use titanium backup. Copy the file TB somewhere else (computer), flash rom, wipe everything and once booted etc... than using tb bring back snapchat data
