Hi all
Long time lurker.
Does the latest 5.1.1 update fix the aggressive memory issue, where apps were being killed after multi-tasking? Waiting to pull the trigger on a new phone and wondering if this was resolved.
Cheers.

There’s a nasty little bug some users have been experiencing since updating their Nexus 5′s (and other devices) to Android 4.4.2. The big involves the camera application in Android 4.4.2 that when either opened by the user or triggered in the background from another app (Skype for instance), causes the device’s CPU to max out, resulting in abnormally high battery drain.

Looks like there will soon be one more update addressing the camera issue..:good:
I am running 5.1.1 on my Nexus 5, and have recently noticed reduced battery life. When running Quick System Info PRO, I notice that "system_server - BluetoothPhoneService" is constantly consuming anywhere from 15-60% cpu, usually 20-30%. I have tried everything INCLUDING restoring all the original factory ROM's, starting with 5.0 (LRX21O) up to 5.1.1 (LMY48I), yet the issue persists. Toggling Bluetooth doesn't help any. Bluetooth functions normally when needed, but is usually kept off.
Has anybody else encountered this issue?
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike.
same problem
Hi, I've the same problem since the last Android update! Quick system info shows that system_server (BluetoothPhoneServer) uses ~24% CPU and >82MB memory. The device gets warm and batterie is empty after 3-4 hours.
Hello,
I'm having the same issue but with another phone (I'm off-forum but not of topic).
I recently made a factory reset to try to solve a problem and now the battery drains quicker than before.
According to Quick System Info Pro, the process system_server BluetoothPhoneService regularly takes at least 15% CPU.
I'm running Lollipop v5.1 stock room on a Wiko Highway Star
If somebody had an idea...
Thanks
Anyone else seeing this? I googled it and seems other people have been seeing it. My will jump ahead by 6 hours, if I reboot its fine again. Any fixes for it?
The only thing that springs to mind is that your Date & Time settings are wrong. Have you checked your time zone is correct? Have you switched on Automatic Date & Time?
My N5 Marshmallow loses time
I've seen this since I updated to Marshmallow. My N5 steadily loses time. Rebooting fixes it, but it starts again.
Googling, I found others with the same issue. One of the fixes suggested - of disabling Battery Optimisation for apps that work with the clock - worked for me and for a week my N5 kept perfect time.
Today after some apps autoupdated, it's started losing time again - 2 minutes in the last hour. I have to figure out the offending app and disable Battery Optimisation for it.
It's frustrating, because I like Battery Optimisation. It improves my battery life unbelievably. But losing time is not acceptable, as I rely on my phone notifications for appointments and calls.
I hope Google releases an update soon.
It looks like its an old bug so I wouldn't hold my breath.
Hello,
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-920i, using one of the latest software patches from SAMMOBILE. And by the way, the latest patch for my device and region came out yesterday, so I'm downloading it now.
This problem I'm about to describe, has happened also with other firmware versions, ever since I started messing with rooting and battery settings from third party applications. I use Greenify and HEBF Optimizer in order to save battery and perform some system tweaks that improve performance and save battery as well.
Ever since I started using HEBF Optimizer, this problem became more frecuent

The problem is that mygoogle account and some applications were removed on their own after rebooting. It has also happened without the afore mentioned third party applications, after using energy saving for applications (sends to sleep unused applications after three days), or even after using the ultra power saving mode on battery settings.
So it appears that I'm not the only person with this problem, some say it's a hardware fault, some others say Samsung is spying on its users:

Little help here?
Thanks!
The aggressive memory optimization of the Shield Tablet (K1) is well documented. I'm talking about how apps are cleared from memory when switching to another app. Is there any way to fix it?
My use case: Car tablet. So I switch between apps a lot. Don't game much on it anymore.
- I known about disabling stock apps, like Facebook, etc. Doesn't help.
- I'm unlocked / rooted
- Any kernels that fix this issue?
- I'm willing to use a custom ROM
I think you should go back to Marschmallow (1.5), optionally flash BitO kernel and change zram and swappiness.
Nougat eats much more RAM. @mageus
It's not a RAM issue. Memory settings show the memory is not capping out. Swap algorithms have to do with the kernel's management of memory in general. This is the problem where Nvidia aggressively task-kills (presumably to optimize gaming).
Based on posts, it seems that ROMs (such as Lineage) don't fix this problem.
Does Bit0 fix the multitasking issue? Why can't you use Bit0-k10 on nougat?
I assume Doze is switched off?

You can use the k10 kernel on nougat, though I am not sure if it helps with memory management since I pretty agressively greenified and uninstalled apps and only left the few apps I use. Never the less, perfomance is better, but I still struggle to keep google chrome tabs from refreshing after not using them for a few minutes.
I solved the problem.
Galaxy Tab S2 9.7", $270 Black Friday deal.
I love the K1, but the couple glaring issues ruin it for my purposes.
