How did you purchase your note - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note5

With Verizon trying to move away from contracts how did you purchase your note 5

I used The Edge but will most likely pay it off sooner than two years. I get a $15.00 discount on every phone on the edge so it isn't all that bad for me.

Paid $800 cash

Bought it through a Comcast promo using Edge to get them, activated 2 lines getting 2 x $200 gift cards, traded in a couple of old smart phones to Verizon, getting 2 x $200 gift cards from Verizon. When I get the gift cards in I will pay off the Note 5 and other filler phone with those gift cards.

Paid 839.00 tax included

Paid $839 through Best Buy. Charging cradle shipped today via USPS. Hopefully Note V ships tomorrow or Monday next week

On loyalty plan 2 year contract, 60 a month unlimited talk, text and 2 GB data. Paid 249 for it at Best Buy. Bill stays the same. Sweet.

I purchased from Best Buy with a 10%off coupon. 629.99 for Verizon 32gb

I purchased full price from best buy planning to get the free wireless charger and the $200 trade in on my old phone while keeping my unlimited data. However best buy lied. They said in their ad that I just had to activate the phone, what they meant was I had to activate it on a new contract.
I did get them to price match Verizon tho

I have unlimited data. I am adding a new line and doing the device payment using the Comcast link. I will get $200 visa gift card from Comcast. I will trade in a phone to get the $200 trade in. I may try to port a number for the extra $100. The $40 activation fee was waived. I will suspend and cancel the line. I will end up with $400-$500 in gift cards and account credit. I intend to sell my note 4. Hopefully I should get over $300 for it. In the end it will cost me less then $200.
I still have a couple thousand in account credit from this.

Full price, which I'd typically only do for a developer edition. No regrets thus far.

Could someone tell me what they're paying for a single line with tax? I'm looking to switch to Verizon but I'm thinking they'll kill me on tax. I want to buy the note 5 is why I'm in this forum.

ATT good deals

I just switch my plan with ATT. I got now 10 GB share plus unlimited talk and messages 3 smart phones connected for $145. Compare to last I had some around $190 and each phone had 2 GB data.
Is looks good for me, but other can have defriend opinion.
Did you get to keep the phones you already had, or did you have to trade?
They started this in the beginning of Feb. If you have 3 or more lines, this is definitely worth it. I went from 225 to 140 with taxes and warranty.
Just go to att wireless and you can change the plan. No need to buy anything or trade.

Can you guys provide a link to those plans? Ours is only 4 GB shared with 3 phones and it is well over $145 a month
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
I was on a Mobile Share Plan paying around $205 after taxes & fees for 3 lines on the 4 GB plan. I called the other day and got moved to the Mobile Share Value plan without any issues... next billing cycle will indeed be cheaper after doing the math the service dropped to $145 along with tax & fees of around $10-$15. I definitely have no problem with saving nearly $50 or so dollars a month while getting more data out of the deal. T-Mobile really has AT&T scrambling to keep customers from jumping ship, and we're reaping the benefits.

I believe you won't get the "2 year upgrade deal". You have to use Next
you can go with a 2 year upgrade deal but your monthly phone charge will go up to $40 per line. not worth it for me.

I switched last week also. Just so people know. You will no longer get upgrade discounts every 2 years with the value plans. You will have to use Next or pay up front the full price of the phone
So they doing this to sell less phones? Not to smart.

Can someone please tell me the difference between Next and the 2 year upgrade plan?
Basically if you're in a 2 year contract signed prior to 2/2 then your line is $15 on a 10gb+ value plan. If in the future you sign another 2yr then your price goes up from $15 to $40. If on next it stays $15 and adds installment. No contract stays $15.

I ended up switching and grabbed a couple sgs2's on swappa for my other lines that weren't smart phones before. This gs4 is my last carrier phone I'm going to get I think. Either a nexus or Google play edition of the next great thing will be my next device.

are you really surprised though? they're already losing money at $199, now its just getting as many people on their networks / extending their contracts. They could give this away for free, but then that would set a precedent for all top-line android devices.
The sale has been going on for about a week now. I got price matched last week, thankfully.
This sale price isn't new for the Verizon variant. Too bad that there is no discount for off contract

They were giving it for free when it launched. $199 buy one get one free and $100 per line bill credit equals free for 2 new lines.
Add in the ISIS activation credit and they were actually paying you to take 2 new HTC One M8 phones out the door at Verizon. I took them up on it and promptly sold one of the new phones for $700 to cover my ETFs.

We have three lines. One for me, my wife, and transferring upgrades.
So, I transferred the upgrade from my unlimited line to my dumb phone line and bought my wife an S5. It's been a few weeks, and I noticed my unlimited line is still eligible for an upgrade. So I transfer the upgrade to the dumb phone line, and order myself the M8 for $99.
Did I just unlock unlimited discounted upgrades?

I just got mine with Best Buy today. I'm on a loyalty plan 60 dollars unlimited talk test and 2 GB data. 249 plus tax I would have taken the 200 trade in for the gift card, but giving my Note 2 to my stepdaughter. I did get the wireless charger too the broke the USB cable within two minutes. It got bent as I accidentally tripped and the power bar turned over and actually bent the USB plug. No worries, will just use the USB cable from my charger if I use it.

Awesome, that's almost as good as my trading in a iPhone 3GS. That's why I save these old phones, I have a dozen more 3GS and 4s that I'll trade in when the iPhone 6S comes out.
I purchased the Note 5 on the Edge program and received a $200 Best Buy Gift Card and free wireless charger. I'll pay the phone off as soon as I can and use the $200 gift card on a Sound Bar for my TV.
I just made a boo boo. I bought the note 5 yesterday from best buy and didn't think of taking in my Droid X2 to see if they would give me the $200 gift card. Do you think they'd give it to me if I took it in and traded today?

I'm not sure if it will help but I did the same thing with Verizon. I ordered on the phone and didn't do the trade in but they gave my a $170 gift card and $30 credit on my bill for a S5 I traded in at the store. BestBuy will most likely let you return the phone and repurchase it with the promo. They are good with stuff like that.
I may very well try it but I don't want to return the phone to get it.

Yep, you could cancel the whole thing and do it all over if they wanted to go that route since you're in your 15 trial period.
As long as you're within 14 days of the activation (the carrier return policy that BBY is held to) and the promotion hadn't ended, they should and need to accommodate you on this.
The way I read it when going through the online cart, Best Buy would only give you the $200 device buy-back if you do the monthly installment, i.e. full price. Not true? I used an upgrade to get mine instead of paying the full price/24 mo.

Note 5 @ Costco

Hey, just a heads up Costco has the Note 5 and Edge plus and you get a $150 Costco cash card and the Samsung wireless charger. Of Course you will have to mail in a rebate form but seems good to me. I believe Bestbuys deal for $200 is if you trade in a phone to them, so Costco is better. Also if you are on Tmobile with less than perfect credit and Tmobile wants you to pay a big down payment at Costco all you will end up paying is the sales tax and that's it. Also FYI if you have mailed in a Costco rebate before you know it can take months to get your rebate, but Costcos rebate handler has apparently changed the process and are claiming you will get your rebate in about 3 weeks so fingers crossed.

That's where I got my Note5 and it also included a car mount, car charger (big woo) and the standard 25 dollar Costco Cash card for a total of & 175.00. Also 1 year of Netflix free ($107 value) if you have signed up. I think you can still sign up even after the 20th of August. That's how the S6 was. Well I know in California they are having some kind of 14 day test with the rebates. Apparently Costco heard everyone's complaints about Stuart Lee Rebates and how long it takes for them to issue rebates in the past, so current rebates should be completed with 14 days after they receive the rebate. But I don't know if this is available in all areas. Maybe that might be a reason for the different rebate amounts.

You did not say where you ordered your phone. It seems like the offers are always changing. I was able to get the best deal through Best Buy back in December. I got Best Buy $100 discount as well as $ off by financing through the Verizon plan of the day. I was planning to buy it out right. But it worked out to be cheaper to add it to there program. I had unlimited and they weren't about to let me keep that anymore.
