I know you can use the Wiimote, but can you also use the "classic controller?"
What about the Xbox 360 controller? Wired only?
Yes, I've been using the Classic Controller to play n64oid.
not sure about the XBox 360 controller, perhaps 3.1?
I only ask because I already have 360 controllers, but no wii controllers. I'm gonna pick up a classic controller through. Can't wait to play some old school games haha

btw, as far as I know the classic controller has to be tethered to a regular Wiimote.
you need a Wiimote to hook the classic controller up, but once you have both, your good.
With the 3.1 update, any USB gamepad will work. Now, the Xbox 360 WIRED controller should work as it was shown. as far as the wireless one goes, you'd have to buy the USB cable for it and i doubt the wireless adapter for windows will work.
But literally any USB gamepad will work with android 3.1, and there are many many usb gamepads out there.

3.1 is going have all sorts of USB connectivity for joysticks, mice, keyboards, etc, at Google IO I guess they used an Xbox 360 controller.

Hi,
I am searching a gamepad (like a xbox 360 or ps3 Controller) for my Infinity...someone know where I can buy something like this?
Wired Xbox 360 (with keyboard dock or asus usb adapter) and bluetooth PS3 controllers work great on Android. I'd avoid anything else.

Xbox controller doesn't use Bluetooth so it can't connect to the Infinity wirelessly.

If you have an wireless XBox Controller and the PC XBox USB Connecter you can use it wireless.
Just plug-in the USB Connector and push the Xbox Symbol on the Controller.
Then after a while it stops Blinking and from that moment you can use it.
I bought an app in the market called "BT Controller" that makes your phone a bluetooth controller. Waiting for my replacement Infinity to arrive to try it out. I would like a sony controller though . Anybody have a spair one they want to get rid of.

PS3 controller works great on practically any android device
I have a PS3 controller and it works great wired. But how do I get it working wirelessly? Most of the time the Infinity does not find it. Once it did appear in the bluetooth settings but it said I had the incorrect PIN. Is there any way to make it work unrooted? Is there any other controller out there that I can buy that would work wirelessly out of the box?

Picked up an afterglow wired remote from walmart last night, works both with the dock and with a otg adapter.
Its not an oem controller but it is a certified and licensed product so i gave it a try, very happy with it !

This would be my question. Does ICS have built-in mappings for the PS3 controller? Or do you have to install an app for it?
I did not have to install anything. Just plugged it in the usb port in the dock and it worked. But I can't get it to work wirelessly.

For those of you that connected the PS3 controller via BT, did it find it with the built-in BT drivers or did you have to install an app to find it?
With the TF700, you need the Sixaxis app from the Play store in order to use the Sixaxis controller wirelessly.
It worked without the app on the TF101, but not on the TF700 for whatever reason.

I ordered a sixaxis PS3 controller for my tf700, and it works gloriously when plugged in (handled natively).
I installed sixaxis to use it wirelessly and still have android recognize it as a native controller. The controller will connect, but doesn't seem to work properly.
Has anyone gotten a PS3 controller to connect wirelessly to their TF700 and perform natively?? (important for analog input).
Just got the GameStop bluetooth controller for Android (who knew GameStop would actually be the source for the one and only dedicated Android controller I've ever seen?). Feels a bit cheap, but DOES work natively. However, it basically becomes a keyboard input device, so once it's paired, your on-screen keyboard is disabled. When the gamepad is powered off, the keyboard comes right back. Tried it with N64oid, and once the key mappings were entered properly, it's fantastic with no lag as far as I can tell.
My Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 also works great when connected to the dock.

Just ordered the phonejoy , read and seen (youtube) some good reviews regarding it.
I will receive my Infinity in 2 weeks, so I have already started to collect some nice accesories.
Has anyone tried using a Bluetooth Wireless Sixaxis game controller from Ebay? Not Sony brand, but some off brand. Like this --> ebay controller

Yes, I tried an Arsenal bluetooth PS3 controller, and the Infinity wouldn't even detect it as a bluetooth device. I suppose I could have tried to delve into assigning the address manually, but when there are other options that work without jumping through hoops, I didn't see the point.

Damn.. ok, thanks for the info.
Hi guys, I'm really interested in getting an emulator such as FPse, but I'm wondering if my xbox 360 will work with it. If not, will a bluetooth game controller do the job? Thanks for the help!
i never tried a xbox 360 controller but my ps3 controller works perfect with sixaxis controller

A wired Xbox 360 controller works pretty well with SuperGNES emulator, haven't tried it with FPSe yet.
I'm not sure if a wireless one would work though
If you're using the PS3 controller there's a new site that users can share and upload profiles for the best Android games. It's called Sixaxisofpower lol

I use usb joystick center. Works with most usb controllers, I use wii mote tho in wireless. It also has a touch to joystick addon that allows you to map button pushes to specific touch points on the screen. Its really phenomenal software. I play Max Payne and GTA3 with a wii classic controller pro plugged into a wii mote[gives you more buttons to map than Ps3 and XBOX controllers]. It does take some patience to learn the app, its customizable every way you can think of.

Oh awesome! This was the answer I was looking for Now I can live comfortably knowing that I can just use this app for my 360 controller. Didn't know this app existed. Thanks!

Wondering what my options are to accomplish:
My Genesis has recently died and I have a wii xbox ps3 however I haven't found all the games I own plus not keen to repurchase these again.
So, I have a few games on my s3, I've recently gotten an otg cable and hooked up my ps3 controller and quite enjoy playing these games this way.
What I want is to mirror my galaxy s3 to my tv.
My tv is not a wifi so I figure my options are to either find an app that allows me to mirror through a console (ps3 prefered), or to get a mhl cable. With the mhl ca Le I'll have to deal with a new set of problems with a usb hub so I can plug in my controller and the mhl.
This would be alot easier if there was a wireless app that supported mirroring. Any such apps exist? I've yet to find one

I have the Samsung galaxy note 10.1 (4.1.2 GT-N8013) I want to purchase a ps3 controller to play games on because some of the controls are not friendly for hours of play. I have seen that rooting the device would, potentially, make the sixaxis app work but, If there is a simpler way to do it with a PS3 controller i would like to know.
Could you run a wired connection without a root? highly inconvenient but would get the job done. I would rather bluetooth tho
If all fails and i need to root the device please post links to the best rooting guides you have.
P.S. i have searched for the solution and there isn't on that i found. I did see the compatible games thread but i figured it was dead.
i think it wont work without root and bluetooth connection. since samsung didn't build in the ability to use high performance device on the connector port the tablet just says that it cant use the device.
i already tried it out with the xbox360 controller and an external hdd. both give me the error i stated before.
we need a kernel that supports high performance devices but i dont know if there is already one. would be nice if someone could tell if there is such kernel at the moment!

seems like it works but your controller has to be fully charged
You should be able to use the PS3 controller as plug and play. I do so on my asus TF101 with games such as dead trigger and SG: deadzone, but it will only work with apps that are compatible with android conrollers. I dont this the same functionality is available for 360 controllers.
If you want to use the PS3 controller as a bluetooth controller, then you will need to root. you will also need a seperate app on your laptop so that you can load the correct address in to the controller.
It really is about time that Google added support for game controllers into the android os, considering the amount of games available and touch screen controls just don't cut it for alot of games imo.
Yes it's great that some games have built in support for pads like the 360 controller etc but the amount of games with that kind of controller support is very limited.

Ps3 controller plug and play does work but it's touchy, it connects fine sometime other times it resisters as a high power device why I don't know I have been trying to work it out for ages
So root and it will work if the games are compatible ? Whats the best root ?

Its working for me even with bluetooth. I think as long as you root, have the 30pin to usb extension from samsung, sixaxis will recognize the controller and set its bluetooth.
I have the NA verizon note 10.1 n8020 and used adamoutler Take Note jailbreak.
