Hi, I've tried several browsers, there's always stuttering and lag, same for Facebook.
My zenfone 6 [Duak core intel] was so much more smooth, like butter.
Other interfaces interestingly are absolutely find, just browsing sucks
I've tried going from smart to normal, no difference..
Pls help.
Suffer from exactly the same!

I had the same issue and followed the suggestion in your quoted thread and I've been scrolling like butter ever since. Had it on Normal for about 4 days now and there's no noticeable difference in battery consumption either

I switched it to the normal mode but it made only a little difference, I really miss my old LG G2, was a good boy
You guys need to use better browser.
This thread was posted a whilst ago.
Enjoy
Ps - ucbrowser hd ftw!
OK guys I did the following to greatly improve chrome Browsing:
-disable Tapatalk and or TalkBack, whatever its called
- disable. Motion app, not sure what it does but yea.
- increase chrome tilesize to 512, Google for instructions.
- force gpu rendering.
It's considerably better but scrolling isn't buttery. Chrome
lags due to Google ads and JavaScript. To get buttery smooth scrolling, you have to disable JavaScript but plenty of sites are broken that way. Chrome JavaScript engine is just isn't optimised for us, while googling I saw same complaints on galaxy s6 users! So this is case of Huawei and Samsung not optimising their drivers etc. This is in no way a hardware or weaker gpu issue. This is just poor implementation of Android by Huawei.
- I stopped using chrome and am using UC browser, (not HD or any other version) its super smooth.
Fb is still meh. Hoping for inputs regarding fb.
I've MT7-TL10 I never got lags when I'm browsing
very smooth scrolling
Using Google chrome, firefox, and the default one

Hello!
I'm a happy SGS user with flashing addiction and coming here in desperate need of help for my bro. Long story short, my bro is a total newb in mobile phones and computers and after watching my browsing experience which is totally smooth he bought a i9023.
After I tried it, his browser feels like theres no acceleration at all. Even 720p is like 3fps. Exactly like SGS with eclair.
What I dont want is to flash his NS and bring him into the addiction. He only needs a smooth browser.
Please help
I dont have much experience regarding this, but here goes:
Do you have any example of what kind of site he is trying to access? Would be easier for us to test ourself.
And, try the skyfire browser, maybe it is a good solution?
Miren browser.
Stock Android browser has no hw acceleration. Sorry.

Well I tried any website like gsmarena or xda, which is working smoooooth on my SGS?
Why you want me to tell you websites? Do you want to say your browser is buttery smooth like on my SGS? Am I missing something?
Is 720p youtube working on your NS? Its buttery smooth on my SGS with same hardware as NS and NS was supposed to be "pure Google experience" as in the best android experience among other manufacturers especially ones with SAME hardware?
Please help,
Luka

Use the browser I mentioned before, it's hardware accelerated.
Opera Mobile has full hardware acceleration. It uses a completely different rendering engine. It uses OpenGL ES to render pages. If you have flash installed you can select which flash objects will play on a page to save processing power and battery
+1 to Opera Mobile. Very fast browsing experience.

I don't know what you are talking about. Have you tried opera mobile on SGS? It is smooth as a smooth can be. Computer smooth if you understand easier. On Nexus S is definetely NOT smooth. Even 720p youtube is not working in opera mobile. Opera mobile is the best "smooth" browser I tried on Nexus S but is definetely nowhere near smooth. Try SGS Opera mobile and you will know what I am talking about.
I also tried Miren browser. Nowhere near smooth, opera mobile is more smooth. Tried even on my SGS and Galaxy tab 10.1v, both nowhere near smooth. I dont believe it has got any kind of HW acceleration.
Beware, I'm saying it again: My bros Nexus S is completely stock, even root is not obtained. I want it to stay it like that, because everything works perfectly for my bro except battery life s*cks and browsers are nowhere near SGS-smooth with identical SoC!
I'm still searching for help!
Best Regards,
Luka
Stock Android has no GPU hardware acceleration, period. All UI elements including everything inside the browser is drawn with the CPU which obviously is quite ineffective. Samsungs Galaxy phones are the only android phones with GPU hardware acceleration. So if you want it there's currently no other way as to get a Galaxy S II with TouchWiz.
To me and a lot of other people its a bug, see here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6914
Sadly Google thinks otherwise, closed the thread, effectively giving everyone a FU

Wow. The answer I was looking for. So the only way is to flash
Is there any ROM/Kernel with hw accelerated stock android browser? Or somekind of Galaxy S port of whatever?
Is CM7 here HW accelerated in browser?
Thanks for help!

Hey,
Must say this tablet is amazing,, screen is crisp, tegra 4 doesnt seem to really perform much different but heh the tegra 3 doesnt have to hit this res... but trust me I work for a company with a fruit as a logo and this blows all there tablets out the water//
I hope Toshiba gets a hit with their new tablets. Not an iPad hater, just prefer competition for the consumers to choose from.

About the screen not true imo, but about the heat part, yes it heats like a mofo when in full speed mode. When in battery saving mode it caps the cpu frequency to 1.0 and almost no heat, when its not 1.8 and heats like an oven.
How about the battery?

As they promised it would behave.
I'm still looking for this tablet in a retail store so that I can check it out in person. Can't seem to find anyone else selling it besides Best Buy (online only) and a few third party vendors on Amazon.
To me, Toshiba excite pro is between all tables the best!

Well, these are my impressions:
The screen is very good
The bluetooth keyboard stand is incredibly good design. Never seen better. This magnet stuff is nicely flexible and stable as well. does work well having it on the lap like a netbook.
The performance with the stock ROM is incredibly BAD. I've got frequent lags, especially in the browser, but also when waking the device and sometimes without an apperant cause. And the most incredible thing is that this device is supposed to work on a 1.8GHz quad core - how is such a bad performance possible with such a monster processor?!

for me its the fastest Tablet i have ever seen. it gets warm...yes. But thats probably because it is really fast. I had an transformer prime before and this is considerably faster. (I use the aosp browser). display is sharp and crisp. not as good as my htc one but also really good.
Problems:
1. WLAN Connection is unstable (there is an Update but currently only in the us)
2. Sometimes it just wont respond to anything. Hard Restart is the only solution. (same here update should be available)
3. Root would be nice
4. would be great if some skilled user would take a deeper look...
I having excite pro almost week and did not found any fault so far.
WiFi work spotless and reconnect in matter of second (from standby or from deep sleep)
10" Screen whit light sensor is one the best on market for me.
Battery life is pretty good(five to six hours watching movies from single charge) and sound one the best I heard on tablet.
Some apps don't work well like opera browser (crashing all times) but Firefox works fine.
Abbot heat I not playing games on it but watching movies, you tube and browsing internet, no heat whats so ever (not using battery saving mode because browsing can be glitchy).
Not latest android installed on it but jelly bean 4.2.1 is pretty good and Toshiba did nice touch with apps winch almost all can be disabled inducing Toshiba one.
It looks interesting, I didn't know about them. Maybe I will look for further information.
Is there a user forum anywhere for this device?
Picked one up like so many others from Amazon for £170 knowing there would be no root option but satisfied to use it primarily for media playback.
Ive tried a couple of media files on it since arrival this morning and playback on some is a little stuttery using the Tosh's own media player and BSPLAYER. Can anyone recommend one capable of playing AVI with AC3 / MKV and x264 please.
Thanks
Just ordered one. ...
Hope its as good as u guys make out! !

No worries.
My only major problem is the sound which is on the quiet side.
I'm hoping someone has a fix for that.

Will have to check my version but Bsplayer volume goes up to 200% when using my finger on the screen where using the volume rocker it only goes up to 70%.
Would be nice to have somewhere us excite pro users could call our own.
If we did I would be able to ask questions like
1 - Is Angry Birds Go crashing for anybody else?
2 - What launchers is everyone using?
3 - What browser is everyone using as chrome seems a little clunky?
1 is now fixed following recent upgrade
This is an excellent device for the cost excellent. ..
Except sound. It's just not loud enough. Sound is excellent just not loud enough
I too have one, love it but the lack of root is frustrating. However, I have discovered that most of the updated Google apps can be sideloaded. This morning I updated the stock email Client to the one that ships with KitKat and it works flawlessly with the new exchange services. Going to look at seeing if anything else can be taken across.
Ran quadrant on my rooted Asus Memo pad and the Tosh and the Tosh scored double and more. The only area it is weaker in is 3d graphics which does surprise me.
Having got fed up with Apple nonsense (even with jailbreaking) I sold my iPad 4 and got the note 12 (p900) - I should point out that this is the 3rd time I'd tried to flee Apple, my previous attempts via the original 10in note, and a windows tablet resulted in my fleeing back to Apple. This time tho I think ive finally found an android tablet that ticks all the boxes. However... I'm baffled how it is that Googles own browser chrome runs slower and less effectively on Android than IOS. Pages with gifs e.g. tumblr, senorgif are slow, to the point of not animating, and pages with videos often won't play when clicked, just buffering/spinning forever.
I found that firefox behaves much better, if still not quite as efficiently as chrome on the iPad. I checked task manager and both apps account for less than 30% max cup usage, and not a lot of memory.
It's not enough to make me jump ship - especially now I can have a 64gb sdcard filled with comics! - but it *is* disappointing. =(
I will have to agree with you on this. But Chrome is slow on my Windows 8.1 Ultra book too. But try Chrome Beta...it is a bit faster on the Note Pro

Yup, chrome is horrible yet I somehow put up with it lol. I keep a copy of Dolphin on my gallery as well which performs better on some pages. With some tweaks chrome can be improved a little (google "speed up chrome android" and experiment with flags, especially setting the max tile one to 512) but still will crumble on some pages.
A good example of poor performance on chrome is trying to scroll on Android Central before the page finishes (it's even jerky after).

Yup. My wife's iPad 2 works fine for that site though using chrome... Go figure.
Hi
I am using my Mate 7 for two weeks, was using a LG G2 before.
Is it only me or the phones has some performance issues especially on scrollings?
My LG G2 was buttery smooth in scrolling of facebook, twitter, web browser and other apps. However, mate7 is full of shutters, lags, delays. No smooth scroll. A shame for octacore phone. Now i am on kitkat(b137) hoping to find improvements in Android 5.1.1.
I did go from G2 to M7 aswell..it will take time to get used to M7 more sluggish experience.. I find.. Chrome scrool very smooth.. most other non chromium based browser seem to have big problems...
With that said..even today G2 is one of the fastest phones..out there..
snabdragon is faster than kirin 925
not smooth like m8 and lg 2
Compared to LG g3 feels my Mate 7 very, very smooth! G3 was a disaster, scrolling, paging (feedly) was horribly slow.
Both phones on stock, unrooted Android.

I think LG did really succeed with hardware and software on this device but this time around it was the form factor... they should had kept the looks from G3 which looks a lot better...
Anyway... LG will release a new flagship after september which will not be part of the G series and will be much more premium, maybe even metal.
I should wait for that.. it is going to compete with samsung note.

Hey
I'm wondering what browsers do you use on your tablets. I'm using aosp one for most of the time but it's pretty slow nowadays and I'm looking for something new. I tried chrome/chromium based browsers and they're fast but ram usage is huge and that makes them work bad with bigger pages.
What browser gives you the best experience on your tab 2?
Sleipnir is my best browser give it a go to see by yourself

I prefer UC browser-fast download.
It is pretty fast and it also has a good media player which supports all formats.
It additionally has a unique night mode which is pretty good.
It also gives us live scores of any sport if asked,Moreover it's only around 18mb in playstore for free.
