I install my recoveries directly from phone with an app called flashify:

So this way you don't need to search every single time.

Flashable rom zip from /system?

I have clockworkmod backup of cyanmobile & do not have its flashable rom zip. This happened sometimes back when my sdcard got corrupted & hence formatted to bring it back to life. I was left with no backups or other firmwares. So I quickly made backup of cmx at that time. Now I have almost all data except for cmx.
So is there any method to create flashable rom package from /system?? Pls. I dont like to restore /system & boot.img that way everytime. I want it as the usual rom zip. Original download link is dead already & my cmx backup is huge!!. Pls. help me!!

Remove flashed zip package

In many tutorial i'm seeing some flashable zip files that can be flashed through recovery.
I have just flashed supersu which i'll need always.
But there are apps like xperia walkman & other app which require to flash zip through recovery.
What about removing them completely if i want in future.

someone who can create a flashable zip?

someone could create a flashable .zip with the kernel, the modem, the libraries , and the build.prop ,
eh I been trying but it causes an error in the updater scrip I have no idea ,
if anyone has more knowledge, I provide the files and routes it only takes the updater script
the reason for this zip, easy to everyone else. to install roms of Any Other model
sorry for my bad English
The zip would need to be bumped before it could work. Once they get the bump site up and running you should be able to make a working flashable zip.

I'm not sure but I thought out it was stock kernel. There was no reason for the zip file to be bumped. Did I misunderstand?

[Q] Lollipop Development

Hi,
I have tried developing a Lollipop rom using CM 12, but after the build it didn'd form a .zip file but i have got system.img, userdata.img, ramdisk.img, recovery folder and others. Then later i have created the zip file by creating boot.img, update-script and signed it.
The problem is why it didn't create a zip file and boot.img by itself (I have given the kernel path in boardconfig.mk and I'm using Java 1.7). When I tried to install my rom, it got installed (I used aroma installer) and I was able to see the files copying into the memory, but when I rebooted, "SAMSUNG" image displayed and it started rebooting again and again. Whats the problem and how to correct these.
Someone help me out, so that I can bring out a ROM with the new Lollipop version.
Thank you

[Request]Full tutorial to make flashable zip FROM SCRATCH

Hii devs,
I'm a budding developer. I've been trying to make a flashable zip since long time. Came across many tutorials, resources, apps, and a lot more! But none of them seemed to help me make a flashable zip from scratch.. All tutorials either provide a dummy (sample) zip or suggest an app or are incomplete.. But still I haven't been able to find a helpful resource..
My situation:
I made two directories: META-INF & data.
Wrote the updater-script
Added it in META-INF/com/google/android
Verified the syntax of updater-script, everything seemed fine.
Added the required stuff in the data directory.
Compressed the directories (both using normal "New Zip Archive" from Desktop as well as 7Zip).
Signed the zip.
[*]NOW COMES THE PROBLEM: THE update-binary
Tried a lot of resources to obtain the update-binary, took it from a cm nightly for my device, from a dummy zip (which I was able to flash successfully), downloaded it from a tutorial, used an app to make a flashable zip and took out the update-binary from it
BUT STILL NO LUCK
I always get an error in the TWRP recovery:
Code:
E: Error executing update-binary in xxx.zip
Even posted threads in XDA forums, but got replies suggesting me to use ZipMe app..
I humbly request you to provide me a full-fledged tutorial for making a flashable zip, or correct me if I'm going wrong in any step..
