LG VS980 Secure Booting Error - General Questions and Answers

Hello Everyone
I have an LG VS980. I have attempted to install a CM11 Nightly(this was awhile ago) and received a secure booting error. I have tried LG Mobile Support Tool, LG Flash Tool, QPST, but download mode exits once the flashing starts. I can't use fastboot, because I can;'t get into fastboot. My laptop doesn't detect my G2. I even tried taking the back cover off, but I quickly discovered the guide I used wasn't for my verizon model. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

bricked my LG Ally

Hey guys I bricked my LG ally and i was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it. I tried 2 different things
I used LGNPST and loaded the .tot file in it, but since sits in emergecy mode it does not work. When i turn on the phone it only allows me to be in emergency mode.
I also tried to KP500-Utils-EN.exe to load the cab file in there, but at 4% it messes up, says it cannot make a connection with the phone. But on LGNPST it picks up so I know that the connection is there, and yes i did load all of the drivers onto the computer with the LG mobile driver.
Any other advice please?
thanks

[Q] Accessing adb on soft bricked lg l9 or hard reset

Hello,
I have an LG L9 (P769) with 10A software(original) and root.
I have tried installing a recovery by replacing recovery block(/dev/block/mmcblk0p04) with a lg prada recovery image.
Now the phone keeps rebooting at splash1(unanimated LG logo). I have the backup of the original recovery however I would need to access adb or a simular tool.
So far I have tried hard reseting the phone without success, when I connect the phone with my computer it boots to lg splash1 and then keeps rebooting. Everytime it reboots my computer detects a device.
What are my options?
Thank you in advance

After some time messing around and googling emergency download mode for LG phones I found out that for LG L9 to access download mode you need to:
1.) Remove the battery
2.) Plug in the phone to computer
3.) Press and hold volume up and power button
4.) Insert battery
After I got to download mode I basically just downloaded European firmware and flashed it. I used this procedure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18946763 both now and before to downgrade from 10e to 10a in order to root using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1990705. This worked for me. Someone might find this useful later on :victory:

[Q] Help LG l45c bricked

Hello I bought an LG optimus net (l45c) on ebay, and it was working fine untell It started booting all the time in recovery mode. I managed to flash a diffrent recovery using adb commands, but now it wont boot past the LG logo. I can still get into emergency mode though, and have tried to use KDZ but it just says PHONE NOT FOUND. Is there a way to fix this error? I have discabled the virtual modem, and it didnt seem to help. Is there any way to get into fastboot mode or enter adb commands from here? If I could, I am positive I could fix it.
Thanks

[Q] Stuck in download mode, FlashTool fails with missing model information (BRICKED?)

My LG G2 D800 (AT&T) 32 GB is stuck in download mode and I cannot flash the stock ROM to it.
I can't get out of download mode no matter how I try to press keys at boot, etc. -- just a black screen with the LG logo.
adb devices returns no devices found.
Shows in Windows Device Manager as "LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM4)."
Flash Tool finds my device, but when I try to flash (using dll C:\Users\SAdra\Downloads\LGD800_20130904_LGFLASHv160.dll and S/W LGD800AT-01-V10O-310-410-OCT-19-2013+0.tot), it fails immediately and says "Model Information Check Fail!"
It shows "IMEI : " and "Model : ". That's really scary if that information has truly disappeared (not sure how that could have happened though). I at least have the IMEI on a sticker on the back.
I used ioroot to successfully enter root mode, so I should have an EFS backup, but I don't know how to recover it since I'm in download mode and the only tool I have to work with is the LG FlashTool, which isn't happy with me right now. I've tried key combinations but I can't seem to enter recovery mode or fastboot or anything from here.
Previously I was stuck in a fastboot loop but then I re-flashed most of the stock partitions from (downloads.codefi.re 10d_partitions directory under D800 Stock_Firmware) -- I remember doing this for aboot, boot, dbi, laf, modem, recovery, and abl1 -- I was following some dumb forum post in which someone recommended doing that -- duhh...
I would be happy at this point if I could get back into my fastboot loop -- at least I could flash stuff from there.
What got me into the fastboot loop in the first place was flashing the BeanStalk ROM (it was a two-part thing where you were supposed to first flash the main ROM and then flash a device-specific patch -- well, the initial ROM flash got me into the fastboot loop).
Any recommendations? If I were to use Linux, would I have any other options -- I've seen people mention flashing partitions using dd?
At this point I'm about ready to take it in to AT&T (still under warranty / in contract) and beg for help, although I know I've obviously voided my warranty by rooting it.
I've seen a few older threads where people are stuck in download mode and have the same "model information" error in FlashTool, and it seems nobody ever replies to those threads, so I think I'm out of luck. If anybody has gone through this or has any idea what I can do, I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
I have the same problem with my G2. I am stuck at the LG logo. No recovery and download mode stuck at the dots. Phone is recognized (while its showing the LG logo) on the control panel as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial port (41) and LGE AndroidNet USB modem. I have tried all tutorials (hard resets, linux etc) I found but nothing worked. Anyone with suggestions???
thanks

did you found the solution ?? same problem
I'm in the same situation. Flashed the wrong rom and now stuck at lg logo. Lg flash tool keeps erroring out with mismatch model numbers. The universal file also errors out. Anyone have a way to save it? I even hex edited the files and ended up with mismatched bin number. I feel I'm so close. Lg flash tool just keeps getting confused. Is it a full brick and a lost cause?

Thanks for the suggestion but it still didn't work. Here are pics for what's happening.
1.) It's an at&t g2.
2.) Here's the wrong ROM that was flashed. (Cloudy)
3.) This is the error I Gerry from lgflashtool. (Wrong model)
4.) If I use the alternate DLL in op post then this is the error. (Crossdll)
I just can't get it to unbrick. Any other suggestions I'm site would help a ton of other people. Thanks in advance!

In the 2nd pic it says f320l but in 3rd pic it says d801 T-Mobile and firmware version reads 20e, if it is an at&t phone there is only 20c tot and dll available now, so if u could go back to stock recovery and clean everything and then download 20c firmware and dll u should be good to go. If u still cant flash 20c firmware try 20d not 20o as it 20d is what my g2 came with first.

That's what's weird. I am using the 20c tot. I have stock recovery. Return to factory does nothing. Still a brick. Anyone else have my problem and overcome it?

[Completed] Bricked lg gpad 8.3

I have been trying to get this thing upgraded to 5.0 for a day and half now, and i just flashed it for like the 10th time with lg flash tool to try to take it to stock. The last rom i flashed ended up bricking the device. I found it in this thead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2698267
All of a sudden it won't turn on, won't respond to adb or enter recovery with the volume down + power combo. tried to get it in download mode as well, no go.
All i can see in device manager is qhsusb with an exclamation point. I struggled to update this and once i finally did, the device still isn't recognized by the computer in any lg programs like mobile support tool or flash tool or by adb and wont turn on what can/should i do at this point?? I
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You description does sound like a brick. I'm afraid you'll have to send it to the manufacturer to get it fixed.
