looking for a ROM and I just wanted to make sure of one thing..... Is the Android version a requirement or will ROM change version when flashed? For example I have 4.2.2 if i flash ROM for 5.1 . Will ROM not work or will my version be changed to 5.1. If it does change to 5.1 is going back to 4.2.2 as simple as flashing a 4.2.2 ROM?

If the custom ROM itself did not come as Lollipop when you flashed it, it cannot be "updated" to Lollipop. Instead, look for a version of your custom ROM that specifically states that it comes as Android Lollipop, and then flash that in your custom recovery.

Hi, I'm on android version 4.4.4 NK4 and I was wondering what exactly I had to do to get stock rooted lollipop. I would really appreciate any help I could get.

I used this post to update to OK4, current lollipop version, and then rooted stock version (I used metalfan's 1/19 modified build). he has a pure stock version too.
Good day I just want to ask does flashing a custom rom to your phone make your phone compatible with app that will only run on latest version of android?
I have OPPO R831k that has a stock version of android 4.2, can I install app that can only run at android 4.4 if I flash it with a higher version of custom rom?

Is there such a thing as a stock vanilla Android ROM 4.4.2 that can be installed in any brand of cellphone made for Android 4.4.2?
