Android System Battery Drain 50%!?! - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know there may be many people with the same issue or there is other threads but honestly I think this problem has messed me over the most by far despite changing through so many ROMs from CM12.1 nightlys, BrokenOS, Resurrection Remix, and many many more! I'm on Exodus ROM with everything else stock I have not installed my Amplify, Greenify or anything to help battery performance and these are the stats I received.
P.S My location services are always off, Bluetooth always off, NFC always off, Ambient display off everything I can think of is toggled off.

Have you tried clearing the cache partition?

I forgot to mention I wiped every partition and flashed them back individually with no success.

It does look like your idle drain is a bit high if everything is off. But at the same time, did you use your phone for anything aside from checking stats and a little bit of YouTube?
What do your stats look like under normal usage? Android System battery usage will appear high(er) if you don't do anything else...
But I would agree that something isn't quite right.

AOSP ROMs Battery drain (staying awake?)

Hello,
I've been flashing a bunch of AOSP roms and with all of them, i tend to get terrible battery life while idling. I've narrowed it down to my phone not sleeping while the screen is off. In the battery chart menu awake seems to be almost the same as the battery up time and the bar graph is almost a full solid blue. while i was searching i came across a post in cm forums blaming this on something to do with the gps and that disabling it and rebooting would fix it but this does not seem to work for me. Does anyone else have this and has anyone found a way to fix it?
I've also discovered a post whereby someone was running advanced task killer on an sgs2 to fix the same issue i'm having but i would rather not rely on a task killer if i don't need to. Any info, ideas, help, links etc are greatly appreciated!!
Your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman.
So, to narrow things down, I started off fresh
- Flashed stock 1.11 hboot from Telus RUU
- relocked then RUU
- unlocked, flashed TWRP 2.4.4
- Wiped SD, Cache, Dalvik, System, Factory Reset
- Flashed PA 2.54/Gapps (my fave ROM)
- Installed few apps. Friendcaster, Tunein Radio and Swiftkey
- Left it at 60% over night not charging
Low and behold, Awake time and screen on time were almost on par. However, I used it on the bus to listen to some tune in radio, browse the web etc and it seems as though one of the apps or maybe multiple are keeping the phone awake more than it has to be and it started draining again. not as bad as before, mind you. Most likely due to there being less apps. So at this point if I want to continue using AOSP ROMS it seems as though I will need to set up a task killer so nothing keeps my phone awake.
Tonight I will set it up and see what happens with my awake/screen on bars. I am fairly certain they will sync up afterwards. I tried to avoid a Task Killer but it seems as though I cannot! I will post my findings after for anyone else in this same boat though it seems very few are!

[Q] Battery draining 1% every two or three minutes

I'm running Mahdi ROM on my D800, but I'm having a similar problem no matter what ROM I'm on. I was on CM11, then switched to Madhi (yes, I wiped everything before installing, etc etc) and restored my apps with Titanium Backup, and the battery drain problem is still here. I am on the stock kernel for Madhi, was on the stock kernel for CM11 when I used that, and battery drain is still an issue.
I have BBS installed and it's not telling me anything helpful. I use Greenify, I have blocked the wakelocks for several usual culprits, to no avail. The drain while the screen is off seems minimal, so it seems the biggest drain is the screen. Android OS also shows up high in the battery stats.
Any suggestions on how to improve battery life? I know it's subjective and all of that, but I know there are also some tweaks and mods that can be performed and installed to help. Please don't say "it doesn't matter," "it's subjective," "figure it out yourself," etc – serious answers only please.

"Android System" keeping phone awake 24/7, draining battery life- T-Mobile Z3

"Android System" keeping phone awake 24/7, draining battery life- T-Mobile Z3
I startes noticing that even after quite a few charge cycles, I'm still getting 4-5 hours of SoT over less than 24 hours. The phone is awake 24/7, and Android System seems to be the cause, but no idea why. Does anybody have any suggestions? I've attached some screenshots.
Factory reset?

Maybe you have some apps causing wakelocks, showing through Android system? My dad had massive data usage from Youtube which confused me until I uninstalled an app that used YouTube.
Yes something that you have installed is causing the Android System to run for extended periods.
I would first try, disabling some apps in the settings menu, to see if that helps. (like throw, bluetooth, NFC, wifi, hotspot) see if any of those help
I would factory reset, and be very careful about what you install back onto the phone initially.
Or instead of reset try, clearing out all apps and re-install one by one untill you hit a bad one. If that does not work I guess reset.

In Settings>Power Management, there is a selection called "App power consumption". Have you checked there? There could be an app listed that drains the battery.
I had checked app power consumption, and unfortunately it didn't give me any further information. Better Battery Stats is also almost completely useless without root, but I did try it and saw Performance Manager or something to that effect was what was keeping it awake (in Kernel Wakelocks). I ended up doing a factory reset, and it seems like it's working fine now with the same combination of apps.
I think I disabled something I shouldn't have using pm block (package), since after some searching it seems like the phone might have been constantly searching for a blocked package, keeping it awake. It's working fine now, thanks everyone for your suggestions!

[Q] No deep sleep but no wakelocks huh?

Hello all, I recently noticed that my OPO was not going into deep sleep. So I installed wakelock detector and to my surprise, nothing out of the ordinary was going on. I proceeded to wipe the dalvik and cache, still nothing, won't deep sleep. Last night I flashed franco kernel in the hopes that it would solve the problem, guess what, nothing, still won't deep sleep. The phone just drops to 300mhz and stays there for the minimum frequency.
I'm running liquid smooth 3.2 (4.4.4) with the recently flashed franco kernel.
Do you guys have any other suggestions on what to do?, I was just about to flash an entirely new rom and keep it barebones till the end of the week when cm 12s and oxygen os are released.
I'm experiencing exactly the same issue..

Maybe the PlayServices are the Problem somewhere here is a guid to prevent them to keep your phone awake
Actually play services did not come up in the battery stats to indicate it was indeed active. I ran through anything, there is nothing causing unnecessary wakelocks. So that's why I'm confused.

Play Services doesn't always show up as Play Services in the battery stats page in your settings menu, it quite often will show up as Android OS.

Not even that, as I said there was nothing android related nor was there any app in wakelock detector that was showing signs of a wakelock. For good measure I did follow the many guides on stopping google services etc. and none of them worked. Phone still won't go into deep sleep. Strangely enough it was wasn't affecting my battery life that much, was still getting about 6hrs on screen time with 14% battery left.

Sounds to me like your battery stats might just be screwy.

So now I'm wondering, as well. What would an example of good/excellent deep sleep look like? % drop over time?
My battery stats show cell standby at 1%, phone idle at 1%, and over over eight hours go from 100% to about 86%. Would that drain be considered deep sleep, or good deep sleep?
I had a similar issue and able troubleshoot successfully.
Device:
- POCO F1
- MIUI 12.0.3.0, Android 10
- Magisk 21
What tried but didn't help
- There is no wake-locks active
- Tried Battery Saver and Ultra Battery Saver
- Tried Airplane mode
- Tried rebooting
- There is no significant battery drain (only 1.6% per hour)
- Tried disabling Proximity sensor
- Tried wiping dalvik-cache
I have followed the guide by Intel at https://software.intel.com/content/...-no-sleep-issues-in-android-applications.html
As I mentioned earlier, there is no active wakelock, that is why the troubleshooting was much difficult.
I have digged into `/sys/kernel/debug/wakeup_sources` and sorted processes based on the column `prevent_suspend_time`. The process `qtidataservice` was on the top. Not sure what it is, but it's probably from Qualcomm and running under the `radio` user.
The `strace` was showing nothing. I have simply killed that process. It's eventually re-created with a new PID. Interestingly the device began to go Deep-sleep while in idle.

Any 5.1 ROM that doesn't have these Android System/OS/Kernel battery issues?

Before I begin I just want to say that I have been using Android for a while and understand wakelocks etc. I have already made sure none of my apps are causing wake locks by uninstalling them but it has made no difference.
Here are my GSam screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/1Cp9z#0
As you can see, Android System and Android OS are the culprits that are draining my battery, but the phone isn't "awake" when they are draining it, so I am not quite sure what is happening. There is no wake-lock but there is a lot of CPU usage for some reason,
Please ignore the average times shown by GSam at the bottom, I get nowhere near 5hrs screen time, I reset the histories yesterday so its not yet calculated average properly yet.
I have tried - Stock COS11S, the latest COS 12.1 and also CyanogenMod 12.1 nightlies and the recent snapshot and they all exhibit this issue even with no apps installed. Is there a ROM out there that has no issues with this stuff?
Thanks!
Same problem. No idea the solution. No matter what battery app I use to try and tell me what is going on, it's always just listed as "android system" or "system" that is draining battery. I didn't have this on sultan's build so I guess it's back to that.
I dont want to give yo spoilers...
you can try every rom here, every kernel, every mod...
it really up to your personal use... you do this 3 simple things and like me will reach 5, 6 hours SOT.
disable lte and go for EDGE
restrict privacy guards things on apps: keep awake, auto start, wake up... on every app you install
use your social network on browsers... installed apps use background...
