Hi everyone, this is going to be my first post on xda. That's why just pardon me if the thread has been posted in to a wrong section. So here is my problem, a friend from the UK brought me a Sony Xperia Z which was bought with a contract from Three almost 3 years ago. I'm living in Turkey and I know that government locks the mobiles after a month if they hadn't been registered and consequently my sony's imei has also been locked. After that I was going to register it with my passport to use it but a point stuck in my mind if the mobile has a carrier sim-lock too. I made some research on the net to figure out whether there is or not and how I can get out of this. I'm going to attach a screenshot of code "*#*#7465625#*#*". As far as I understood, there is no simlock, however, it has been locked by the government due to lack of registration. Please make some suggestions
Thanks in advance.

Hi all
Strange title i know , but basically I found a Nokia N8 at work, I handed it to lost and found who put up posters etc but it was never claimed, so it has been returned to me a couple of months later. The owner must have reported it lost as it seems to be blocked. I have a relative who lives in france so i wondered if it was still possible to unlock the phone network so I can give it to them for use in france?
If so is it still just a matter of unlocking using a code (I have a reputable e bay seller I have used a couple of times)
Many thanks in advance

Hey there,
Changing the imei code is illegal but it would make a nice paper weight for your desk.
Greetz.
Yeah !! Lol
as i say don't want to change the imei want to unlock the network and use it abroad
Without violating laws, etc. no there is not a way to unlock it. Now, hypothetical and if I was overseas, I would reflash Symbian and then manual program in the carrier information. All 3G phones and below have a basic an extended programming that can be accessed with dialing a code and putting in an unlock code, but you need additional information. As an industry person and so forth I could say Google may hold information on extended programming.
Hi,
I wonder whether anybody can help me with my Sony Xperia Go, because I habe nothing but problems...
I have recently both two of them (one for me, one for my husband) from O2 shop in UK. We are O2 customers for over 6 years now. We usually use our phones in Poland twice a year (after unlocking sim first).
Now the problem starts... I can't unlock new phones anywhere.
I've tried to get a code online first, without success. Then, tried to get it from my carrier, O2 send email back saying I have to wait 12 months, before they supply me with unlocking code.
Then, I got in touch with their technical support, they promised to send me codes, but again, I got email back saying "wait 12 months...."
Not quite fair O2, not quite fair...
Then, I've tried Sony Tech Support, but they said it's nothing to do with them, and I need to contact O2.
I'm a bit fed up now...
Is there anybody who could help me unlocking them phones?
I have searched the forum, trying to find the answer, but coudn't get it either.
Thanks a lot to anybody who would try to help...
PS. Sorry for my english!
Could anyone help, please?
Hello everybody.
Thing about Turkey is that when you take your phone from abroad to here, after two months of using the SIM card you bought in Turkey, the phone cant be connected to network.
So i was rooting my phone, changing its IMEI and it didnt work. I also was thinking that it is about the SIM card, that the operator is making the network for phone unavailable,
but SIM card works fine in other "registered" phones. I once have paid around 100 dollars to unlock my Alcatel, and i figured out that everything is being done through software,
you dont leave your phone, they dont touch it, you just pay and give the IMEI of the phone you want to register and prevent it from blocking. Now i am thinking that the best solution was
to change the IMEI on time, and get additional two months with new IMEI. But this is just my modest logic.
I am really wondering what is this about? What do you think about this?
And is it possible to for me to do it by my own without giving away 100 $?
Thanks
Semir

Hello!
A friend came back (to Greece) from England with a Sony Xperia E5 (F3111) which was registered on the Î2 network. While still in England, she tried to insert the Greek network SIM number but she was asked for an unlock code. She went to a cell-store in London and the assistant told her that she would receive the unlock code in about 15 days (which have gone by and she hasn't). Now she is back in Greece and we ran the procedure described by O2 in their site but they say it will take another month or so for the code.
Is there any other possible way to unlock the phone? We no longer trust those ''unlocking sites'', since my friend has already paid some money with no results?
Please hide (edit and delete) your phone's IMEI. You are not doing any service posting the IMEI. better to keep it secure and hidden.
Have you guys contacted O2 for the unlock code?

Thank you, of course we did but they said it could take more than a month. Eventually my friend did the job via some American unlocking site...
Hi, I bought a Sony Xperia Z3 SO-01G (Japan). Its sim locked by Docomo. So, I want to unlock it.
Now I'm searching for a real and legit unlocking site, cause I paid for the unlock code in the following web page, but as you'll see that's page is a fraud, cause they canceled my order and haven't sent my money back yet (and DO NOT answer my emails).
https://sim-unlock.net/account/[email protected]/3592106276/1193093/
I used that page cause I found a thread in this forum where a user said he could unlock the phone using sim-unlock.net. So, you should close and delete that thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/help/xperia-z3-401so-softbank-sim-unlock-t3021329
My question is... which real (legit) web page you recommend me for getting the unlock code?
