I was wondering if I could unlock my Windows computer using the thumbprint sensor. Is there an app that does this? I know Samsung has the Pass SDK to interface with the thumbprint sensor. Or is there a problem with this (a reason I shouldn't do it)? Thanks.

Hello, I hope someone will be able to help me...
Details: I have Nexus One, CM6.1 RC1 ROM, Clockwork Recovery [latest], app2ext on 16GB sd card. OS: Windows7 Ultimate 64bit
When I try to add Nexus to devices via BR radio Nexus and Windows 7 show different passkeys and therefore cannot be paired. This is so bizarre I even don't know where to start troubleshooting. Anyway I can successfully pair regular mobile (Sony Eriksson w880i) or conversely connect my Nexus to other devices such as headset, other mobiles, car.
Any suggestions?
If understand you right, you are saying that Windows passkey for bluetooth and your phone's passkey for bluetooth are different.
Now again I might not be understanding you fully.
Each device its obviously going to have a different passkey. If everything device on the planet using BT had the same passkey, what would be the point of the passkey in the first place? Type the windows passkey on your phone and type the phone passkey on windows. Or just use a USB cable.
If I didnt understand you correctly, I'm sorry.
This is not how it works. It ask if the passkey shown on the screen is the same one as on the other device. Yes or no question. I don't have a chance to type one. U c?

I attached a screenshot to explain.
Sometimes it does not ask for passkey and instead show error 0x80004005
Has anyone successfully paired this with the Note 10.1? When trying to pair, the Note asks for a password/pin which I cannot find anywhere. Any suggestions?

Only a process of elimination. Ensure that tablet can successfully connect to some other bluetooth device and that the mouse can connect to some other device such as a PC or notebook via bluetooth. Want to exclude any hardware fault.
You could also contact Canon support for their suggestions.
It does look like an interesting device. Good luck.

I guess here is some problem with pairing. I have the same issue with my Nexus 7 32GB (official Android 4.3).
In my case, the mouse needs no pairing code with Win 7 or Debian Jessie (and works with both systems), but Nexus with Android 4.3 asks for the pairing code. Another BT mouse (Rapoo model 6200) works nicely with all systems (Win 7, Debian and Android) without any pairing code.
New tests with another devices, Sep-06:
Cannot be paired with Nexus S, both official Android 4.1.2 or CM or with Lenovo A660 (pudil's ROM based on original Android 4.0.4 version 025).
Apologies for opening this old (ancient) thread, but I'm seeing this behaviour on Windows now as well; up-to-date devices ask for a pin and refuse to connect, while older do not ask and connect instantly.
Did anyone have this on Windows, or fix the issue somehow?
I am a electronics engineering student and was working on bio-metric security systems, and this idea popped up in my head that what if i can use my phone's fingerprint sensor to unlock door wirelessly using ir blaster or wifi. a code(encrypted) will be transferred using ir blaster. that will be decrypted at door lock system. that code will be produced only when fingerprint is valid.
the idea/concept is in premature stage any modifications in concept , and help on how i can make such app on android is appreciated.

Nice idea .but IR blaster ? really ? in that case, your options on phones are limited and plus fingerprints on some devices such as Note4 or S5 are SAMSUNG based (note 7 or S7 is using native MM APIs) means you cant really freely access Fingerprint stuff easily .but i think if someone works on it .it would be something
Hello,
unfortunately my S7 fell to the ground and what began with a very small pixel-sized purple dot, now spread all over the screen so I can't see anything on the screen. Thereby I can't confirm any prompts.
When I plug the device via USB to my Linux computer, calling for "adb devices" the phone is listed "offline". I also tried the ADB suite on a windows computer, where it is "unauthorized". I can't confirm the prompt as the touchscreen doesn't work.
Are there any cables, that allow to connect to a working screen (TV) or that allow multiple connections for PC and wired mouse? The idea is, to connect to the computer and then blindly clicking, hoping to hit the correct button eventually.
Is there a solution, using the hard buttons in order to get to a certain boot mode? I read something about this, but didn't find a way, yet. The phone is not rooted.
Best regards
Jens

I installed the app via my google play account. Unfortunately, I am asked to scan a qr code and to enter a PIN. As I can't read and use the display, there is no chance to start sidesync on my phone.

I'm sorry. I don't understand how this could work.
I have to open the app on the phone. That is impossible, as I don't know where it is because the screen is black

Hello all,
I am using the S22 Ultra for the last 4 months.
And mostly I use it with my dell monitor and everything works fine.
When I am outside and try to connect with My MacBook Pro M1.
It fails to connect.
I tried with the latest Samsung Dex For Mac 2.4. This one does not get detected onthe S22 ultra dex menu to dec to pc.
Another version of dex is Samsung Dex For Mac 2.0.0.20. This once gets detected onthe S22 ultra dex menu but does not connect to MacBook pro after trying several times. and dex logo for connection keeps rotating. check attached screenshot.
Please suggest. I use S22 ultra for writing and taking notes while doing an online course.

Not rooted man.
I tried turning usb debugging on-off but not helped.
Rooting will cause issue with banking and trading apps.
Do you have any suggestions?
I have zero experience with Mac, but I had a similar issue with on my windows 10 machine and I needed to install the Samsung driver's. Maybe try that?

Turn off Link to Windows. I'm not very familiar with MacOS. Does MacOS allow you to connect wirelessly? If so, try that method.
Based on your description, it isn't a problem with the phone or your Mac, it is a problem with the Samsung DeX App for MacOS.
let me check both options and get back
@vishvaraja I am Facing the same issue, did you get to fix it?
