So I was attempting to root my droid mini running 4.4.4 sub-7.2. I was using root junkys video on it. I got to the part where you had to brick it, and I did. The next part requires you to update your drivers. I tried doing this, but I got an error saying windows ran into an error trying to update them. Same thing when I tryied to update them manually. I now have a triangle error on my driver when I open up device manager. I tried to run "run root" Buy I got an error saying " Can't open file 'qdloadRoot.py' : [error no2] No such file or directory" I don't know what to do at this point. I just have a hardbricked phone paperweight. ANY help is very helpful. Please.

Hello,
I am new to the XDA Developers website and wasn't sure where to put this post.
Anyway, I'm trying to root my N9000 and so far not having any luck. I downloaded a driver from 4shared that was something like "MTKxx driver" I installed the driver correctly (or I think) next step was rooting the phone. I downloaded SuperOneClick and it didn't go past Step 7. I tried "MTKdroidTools" and I chose root and nothing seems to happen. The progress bar keeps going and going. Finally, I tried TPSparky and the first try it said, "failed on '/data/local/tmp' - Permission denied
link failed File exists
Rebooting - Continue once device finishes rebooting
Press any key to continue . . ."
I chose a key, it supposedly rooted my phone and said it worked. I checked and it wasn't rooted.
I really need help rooting my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi guys.
Im a newbie here inb the forums and new to the world of modifying android (i was an apple user for a long time).
My problem here is that i am trying to install a custom ROM and to do that i have to unlock the boot loader.
>>Downloaded the SDK and drivers that came with it via instruction provided thru SE lin for unlocking boot loader
>>Connected device and the blue led turned on
upon plugging in the phone, device manager popped out of this error >> Unknown USB Device (Device Failed Enumeration)
>>tried updating the driver automatically and manually by directing it to the usb_driver folder inside SDK but to no success
>>done uninstalling and reinstall, done disabling and re-enabling still same error
>>tried all the USB ports in my desktop and still the same
>>checked properties of the driver and here are the details
Device USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\5&21f49dea&0&4 had a problem starting.
Driver Name: usb.inf
Class Guid: {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}

Problem: 0x2B
Status: 0x0
>>I've already tried searching thru XDA forums but most of the solutions ive seen are outdated.
>>By the way, I am using Windows 8.1 64bit / Phone is SE Xperia Arc S
I would really appreciate it if you could help me here.TIA

Sorry, it took time for me to reply. I was never able to figure it out. The threads provided were not helpful at all though thanks to all whomtried to help. i gave up with it and sold it. Currently using S2.
So I stayed up WAY too late last night trying to figure this out so I figured I'd see if anyone here can help. I apologize in advance if this is the wrong section.
I recently bought a Xiaomi Mi4 here in China and I am not a fan of the Xiui OS it has on it. So I began trying to install CWM on it to get things going but no matter what I do, it fails with a different error for each method.
Using the Updater app doesn't work because I do not get the menu to browse for my zip.
Fastboot method says "recovery not support flash".
Rashr says "Partition Failed".
MobileUncle looks like it works but when you reboot CWM isn't there.
I dug into my device and I think I am supposed to have a /recover partition? But I do not see one.
Any help is appreciated. I'm willing to try anything.

Hi,
i have a problem with a china tablet, Kingtopkt07..
I already tried to restore from the tablet but didn't change a thing.
The original issue was an error message with google play services, it says my device is incompatible.
so i tought i should reinstall it, but when i do it says that my actual version is incorectly signed, and to try to uninstall it first.
ofcourse i need to root the tablet to uninstall it.
so i tried framaroot, but it didn't work.. it says it does but root checker shows negative resoults.
other root metods brequire a pc.. so i tried connecting the tablet to the pc, but i get a nasty usb error in device manager..
can you help me to fix this? or maybe, to find a custom rom for the device..

I will try my best to help you but am not that familiar with your device. Do you know if your phone was originally AAP_GEN1 or la_gen1 before you updated it ? It may be something as simple as renaming the package to z500_aap_gen1
