Best root method

I've found two methods on this forum for rooting my VZW GS3, the Casual root method and then there's that Toolkit found in the stickied thread that does root, recovery, roms etc etc. Which one is the best route to go for rooting.

Casual is newer, stick with that.
There's also a rooted stock Rom out there, just flash in odin and you should have root. But it'll wipe all of your information.

Read the comments after the guide. Not very promising.
And I don't think this is posted in the correct section.
Moved here....Thanks.
I posted it and I've successfully rooted my phone and my wife's phone via this method. Running stock rooted with xposed, greenify, adaway, and several other apps that require root.
Just trying to help out as I searched for quit some time for a quick and easy way to root 4.4.2
I used ioroot25 to successfully root my AT&T LG G2 d800 running stock ota kitkat.
Been that way for weeks.
Now, there is not, as of yet, a way to get a custom recovery on the damn thing. Not without downgrading firmware and rooting first. Basically still limited to loki support for custom recoveries.

So this method will work with those that have the D80020k update as well?

There is a way to install a custom recovery on stock KK via autorec:

I rooted via this method and then installed twrp with autorec on a stock out of the box KK device. No need to downgrade or anything.

WooHoo! Bonus!
It works and I didn't have to restore to old firmware first, or screw up anything. No lost data.
Thanks.
I was on d80020c, rooted it with above method and was forced to take the 20k update and kept root!

Anyone have a problem taking video after using IOroot25 method? Tried to record and found out it's not working. Same issue trying to record video on Instagram.

Just use IOROOT25 to root 20k, then AUTOREC to install recovery. Can't get any easier than that.

Question re: PingPong and 5.1.1.

Hi. I have 5.1.1. Call me crazy, but I don't care about tripping Knox. If I root with PingPong, will it otherwise mess up my phone? Or should I *never* root with PingPong once on 5.1.1?
Baseband C0F8
Not new to rooting, just some info I need before I attempt this.
Thank you in advance!

Oh. Okay. Guess I'll just plug it into the computer. Damn.
Thanks anyway.

Possible temp root?

I remember being able to achieve temp root on the Verizon Note 4 using king root, then using supersume to remove all remnants of kingroot minus supersu. The root would last until the phone was rebooted. You were able to do most things except modify system files. Anyone think this would work on our Note 5? Trying to find the thread to link here.

There is no way to currently bypass Knox. If you want to softbrick your phone .........

Is there a root app like one-click to root

for I can root my T-mobile GS 7 without a computer. Thanks In advance!!!
No, there isn't.
