No matter what ROM I run on my GS3 when I go to the built in DOCUMENTS app (documentsui.apk) and click on recents files It will shows files that I no longer have on my phone..
The issue is when I try to clear them off or delete them.. it say's cannot delete files. They seem to be files i've downloaded on my computer... but I have wiped my download history on chrome on all my devices.
I have tried ccleaner, clearing the downloads and documents app from manage apps, clear out all data on my google account (I tried this because these recent files persists across all of my android devices.) completely wiped my phone and sd card.

I moved some apps to ROM memory with Apps2Rom and everything worked fine.
But after some update it seems that I cannot use some of these apps. Unfortunately I also cannot delete them. But I will have to delete them for reinstalling. Any idea what went wrong?
How can I move apps back to the normal memory?
The latest update of Apps2ROM allows you to remove system application.
To do so, click on the app's icon and then the remove button.
Sadly all application does not agree to work correctly in system partition.
I am using Samsung i699 (android 2.3.6) in China, They preinstalled so many suck apps. After I rooted and removed a bunch of apps including system files, and then every time when I power on, it displays "Low Storage Space there is not enough storage space available to complete this action, please clear some space and try again" Before remove some system files such as applicationsprovider, kies, kieswifi and etc... it never had any problems. So here I have 2 questions:
1 How can I resolve the issue?
2 If nobody knows, I want to restore factory default. When I press "restore factory default", it just restores my settings, or restores all the apps and systems files I deleted?
THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP

Use Titanium Backup (rooted version) or Links to Sd app from Google Play.
From these you can remove all unwanted apps (even system apps).
You can clear off some space, deleted unwanted files, clear cache and make some space for your mobile.
NOTE: BOTH APPS REQUIRE ROOT AND BEWARE TO UNINSTALL CRAPPY APPS ONLY DON'T MESS WITH THE SYSTEM CORE APPS. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK

Afternoon from Vegas!
I've been poking arudn and trying to find out, why do I randomly get told I'm out of space for apps, I'm not allowed to install more even though all my partitions have space
Well anyone remembering my thread about some dirty flashing causing partition and file permission issues, you likely know of my explanation. But some o us had this happen when the changed Roms too. It's really odd. So I did some digging today and found this
In /data/data/com.Android.providers.downloads/cache is where apps are being downloaded too but my folder was 4GB!!!. It had hundreds of files that appear to be where it downloads the apps. But when I tried to clear it normally it didn't work. However deleting them by hand proved to work via root.
So essentially if you have plenty of space in Android and can't install apps, check the folder /data/data/com.Android.providers.downloads/cache and see what you find. Maybe me and @CVertigo1 can make another fix for this.
THIS MAY APPLY TO OTHER DEVICES AS WELL BUT I ONLY DISCOVERED HIS ON THE VZW GS5 Release Model.
This is interesting. I'm going to have to look into this.
I verified over a gig in this directory, and clearing the app cache through settings took care of it. You don't need to manually clear it with a file explorer. Go into settings, storage, internal storage, then tap cached data. This will clear the app cache. I suppose the app data cache is untouched when clearing the system cache. I always clear the system cache through recovery then data cache through settings.
My phone is rooted. I am using Lenovo A7000 phone with AOSP 6.0 by Risma Ermaya.
I have formatted my SD card as internal storage using the default feature of marshmallow.
Few months back, I started facing the issue of Facebook and Messenger updates. Whenever I used to update my facebook or messenger from the playstore, these apps stopped opening and used to crash. But after I used to restart my phone, these applications ran fine. A week ago, I installed instgram for the first time in this phone. Similar thing happened with it too. After installation from Google Play store, it did not open. However, after restarting the phone, everything went well.*
Yesterday, I was updating facebook, I got the error 403. I cleared up data of my playstore app after forced stopping it, removed all my google accounts from the phone, and rebooted the device. After rebooting, the error was still showing up in the playstore. Feeling frustrated, I forced stopped Google Play services framework application, cleared it data and rebooted my phone. But, the problem was still there.
I have got into deeper trouble now. My microSD card has become write protected. I did not remove my SD card at all since months. It is of sandisk brand and has class 10.*
I cannot take screenshots. I cannot download any file from chrome browser. I cannot download images sent to me by my friends through whatsapp.*
I cannot even copy one file in its folder to another folder in the memory card. I have tried using the default file explorer and Solid Explorer application. I have just 587 MB remaining in my phone. However, I can access any file I want to. My videos and music are playing just fine.*
I am also able to delete any files within the file explorer, so that I can make a nandroid backup of my files in TWRP. Even TWRP does not allow me to delete my music and videos within the SD card. What should I do to fix this trouble? I do not want to format my SD card as it has lot of important data. Even if I connect my phone to my PC and try to copy the files, the process hangs after few seconds and Windows explorer hangs which is displaying the content in my SD card. I am running windows 8.1.
I have also tried unmounting and remounting my sd card using the in built feature of Marshmallow, but this trick still doesn't solve my trouble.*
I have also tried clearing cache and dalvic from TWRP but still no progress. I feel that facebook is the culprit because while clearing cache in TWRP, it gives the error that it could not clear cache from com.facebook.katana folder.
I basically use my android file manager ... Recently i found out one thing... If i capture few photos from camera app or download few photos from websites and view them from my file manager ... The File manager cache storage increases...
I can understand that it creates temporary files to make the photos load faster the next time (around 10mb) but my doubt is
I deleted all my camera photos and cleared the recycle bin in my file manager ... But still the file manager cache storage is 10 mb... It is still in the cache space...
I know the deleted images will be taken out from normal file list but still it will be there hidden
Until rewritten by some other thing ..
But my questions are
So does the deleted images stored as cache in the file manager ????
Or is it just useless after the original image is deleted??
Without using recovery softwares, will the original image be recovered with this file manager cache??
Kindly give an answer with detailed explanation
Each app, so also the File Manager app you use, has its own cache where the app is storing files to reference later. If the File Manager app currently doesn't have a setting for how much disk space the cache is allowed to take up, so it just keeps getting larger and larger until the entire drive is full.
Whatever data the File Manager app stores in its cache, they aren't accessible by any recovery softwares, AFAIK.
