Compatible with MHL adapter?
Officially: No. Samsung says i9103 can not do mhl.
I have tried it with a original samsung mhl adapter for the S II.
I did not get a signal.
But..... tegra 2 supports mhl.
So, do we support it in hardware but they did not activate it in software?
Can the devs activate it with a custom rom or kernel?
Has to be checked out.
so it is confirm SGR does not suuport MHL and there is no way to connect this phone to LCD TV via HDMI at all?

The devs might need to make a kernel that supports HML

MHL will not work with our Galaxy R because i've read some where that even our Galaxy R is capable of this Samsung has restricted it in the S/W level (Because they want to differentiate ours with Galaxy S II), if we want this we need to dig that and enable it in the OS level it self ..

cm9 coming is active?
Not at all. MHL is one of features that don't work on AOSP roms, and I am talking about S2 that has this option enabled by default.

That is not entirely true buddy.
I'm yet to see a Tegra 2 handset which has MHL enabled through the Micro-USB Port.
They have always used a dedicated HDMI port to allow users to view media on large LCD / LED screens.
E.G. LG O2X, Samsung Captivate Glide, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Photon 4G.
Hope this helps !
Has anyone tried if MHL it is working now with ICS?

It was a not Samsung original MHL adaptor.
Something like that:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1080P-USB..._MobilePhoneDataCables_JN&hash=item460805c098
It is connected to the phone by microusb and to the tv by hdmi. It needs to be powered by usb or microusb power adaptor.

HDMI Cable doesnt work ???
Micro USB to HDMI cable??
Hi guys,
Thanks for this thread, I read it but still have no answered of the question - Can I use MHL cable / micro USB to HDMI or micro USB to VGA for my Galaxy R. Is there any way to provide video signal and if yes - what should I do?
I'm searching for cables ->
This one -> MHL to HDMI Cable Adapter USB MICRO For Samsung i9100 i9103 i9220 N7000 i9250 (type it in ebay search)
The seller says that this cable supports i9103, but maybe he just wants to sell his stuff. Is it possible?
What is your opinion, has anyone successfully provided video signal?
Thanks in advance, guys
PS: According to wikipedia, our phone has MHL technology avaliable: en.wikipedia(.)org/wiki/Mobile_High-definition_Link
en.wikipedia(.)org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_R :
A recent kernel for ICS (developed by a xda developer) also enabled the mobile to support HDMI output support via micro USB to MHL cable.

Whick one is this "recent kernel"?
Hello everyone.
I just bought my self an MHL adapter to use with my lg p880. I was running CyanogenMod 10.1 with cm kernel and when i connected the MHL with my TV and phone, the orientation of the screen to the tv was wrong. So while i was searching the xda i found the optimus prime kernel(battery friendly) and i flashed it. Now when i connect the MHL the phone freezes and nothing is pictured in my tv.
Any suggestions?
Thanx everyone in advance!!!!
I just flashed the XENON HD rom with the optimus prime kernel and still the mhl does not work. The only difference is that the phone does not freeze when i connect it.

The only MHL functionality currently working in CM 10.1 is direct mirroring. This means that it will directly mirror the display on your device as it would look holding it straight up. To add to the fun, the default is to keep your display rotated at 90 degrees when HML is connected, although it is possible to fix this to 0 degrees instead.

Quoted as that direct line was originally by @Wenque
You might also find it useful to acquaint yourself with the LG Optimus 4X HD forums here on XDA
I had to ask because Samsung does a really bad job of listing all the features on their mid-range smartphones.
Also can we confirm this phone has MHL?
I've used MHL on the stock ROM and can confirm it works. I have no DLNA devices to test it with though.

Do you have to use official Samsung Smart Adapter or can you use a 3rd-party adapter?
I used the cheapest, most generic, un-branded MHL adapter I could find at the local flea market and it worked.

internally they are all the same, anyway you need a galaxy s2 compatible one, NOT the s3-s4 version
I can confirm this phone has DLNA.
I can also confirm this phone has MHL.

No, it won't work. The Moto G doesn't support TV out through cables. You can only use DLNA, Miracast or chromecast to connect the Moto G to your TV
