APNs - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How many APNs should we have? Currently I have 5, 2 APN0 and 2 APN2 and then a global roaming.
My phone has been having problems connecting to the network while friend's (with iphones) have no problem.

APN? 3G int'l, virgin b/band, Aus

I have virgin broadband mobile internet, came in a huawei modem.
Been using the sim card, w/out the modem, directly in laptop for 3 years.
Recently, been using it in a huawei wifi/mifi router.
Want to us it now in MZ601, Int'l 3G Xoom.
Have tried numerous variations of APN's, with no luck.
One apn appears to have been installed by default by the sim, but is not able to be edited, and also does not work.
Any idea's/advice?
Considering ditching virgin, going wth optus/voda data sim.
(Virgin themselves appear to know less than me about APN's, and my version is not nextg version, before it is asked..)
Thanks.

Canadian N5 users on Rogers question

Hey fellow canuks (and all other knowledgeable) parties,
Been using my N5 for a few weeks now, and noticed that my Network icon never switches from H (im assuming that HSP+) to LTE.
Ive seen it switch from H to 3G but never to LTE.
I purchased my N5 through the Play store, and NOT rogers.
Are there any APN settings that i need to add for the rogers LTE band? Or is this normal behavior?
Please advise.
thanks
I assume you have an LTE enabled SIM card?
My N5 is from the play store and I'm on Rogers... LTE works out of the box.
I had the same issue as you did, and did the following:
Settings --> More... --> Mobile Networks --> Network Mode --> Access Point Names
Under Access Point Names, I have 4:
Rogers (rogers-core-appl1.apn)
Rogers LTE (ltemobile.apn)
Rogers Tethering (isp.apn)
Rogers WAP (internet.com)
It was selected on the first one (ROGERS - rogers-core-appl1.apn), and I manually changed it to ROGERS LTE.
Since then, I get E, H and LTE by my signal.
Be sure to do some speedtests with both Rogers and Rogers LTE.
Hope that helps.

[Q] What is the build.prop network code for Virgin Mobile Canada?

Title says it all.
I got an LG G2 D801 from Videotron(Which is in fact formated and hardwared all like the canadian D803) and I installed a custom ROM (CloudyG3 1.1).
Then I'm having problems with the network dropping every here and there. I'm using a sim-unlocked LG G2 which comes from a carrier that doesn't have LTE and I'm now using it with LTE on Virgin Mobile Canada(Bell's network). I don't know if my network dropping problem comes from using LTE when the phone wasn't intended to, but doesn't seem so because even when I've left it to CDMA/GSM only it was still dropping.
I've read that I need to change the build.prop for it to work flawlessly on another network, for LTE and stability.
So, now it's as follow:
lines from cloudyg3 stock build.prop
ro.product.name=g3_global_com
ro.build.target_operator=GLOBAL
ro.build.target_country=COM
to lines of carrier build.prop
for t-mobile d801:
ro.product.name=g2_tmo_us
ro.build.target_operator=TMO or tmo
ro.build.target_country=US
So for Virgin Mobile Canada, would it be VMC? Or since it's Bell network, should it be BLC or BEL? So is it safe if I change it as follow:
ro.product.name=g2_vmc_ca
ro.build.target_operator=VMC
ro.build.target_country=CA
Or coult it brick my device? How can I backup the build.prop?
I also changed the following setting in build.prop following people recommendations and I sucessfully got my network setting to stay on WCDMA/GSM/LTE auto even after reboots but only a short time, now it sometimes returns to WCDMA/GSM only.
ro.telephony.default_network=11(Was 9 by default)
Also and finally, I have the two following lines that are one after the other one in my build prop editor:
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1
telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=0
Should these two be at 1 to activate LTE on my device? Or shouldn't there only be one of these lines?
How can I make my phone work without problem on Bell's LTE Network? Even tho my phone shows up 4G when I manually activate it, the speed test seems to show it's still capped at 42mbps hspa+ speeds, but it's still faster than when I leave it to WCDMA/GSM.

Getting VS987 to stay on Cricket LTE network

Hi All,
I just ported my Verizon VS987 to Cricket and noticed that if I manually select the network or use the auto select, the phone will register onto a Cricket LTE network for a few seconds before dropping back to a network with H. For the few seconds it's connected to the LTE network, it's pretty and works well but will not stay on that network. The signal on the LTE network seems quite consistent and fast. I've tried changing the Bearer in the APN to LTE, but it just results in me having no data.
Any help is appreciated, .thanks!
I want to know also.

ATT and Mi Mix 3

Hello XDA community,
I have a Mi Mix 3 Palace Edition phone and I am using AT&T for my carrier. The phone came with a Chinese ROM but I flashed it with a Global one. I have been trying to get 4G + LTE to work on the phone but so for all I am able to get is 3G. I have contacted ATT and was told that my account was not setup for it. So ATT's advanced technical support made sure the IME/my account on the phone was LTE enabled. I am still stuck on 3G. I have selected the correct APN for it but I do not connect.
What am I missing?
Preferred network Type?
preferred network LTE.

Did you checked if your apn is correct?
Try selecting 4G network manually. I faced issue like that initially with ATT MVNO. After seleting 4G network manually I am geetting 4G+
In the Settings, go to About Phone, and tap the storage until it brings you to the SIM and WiFi screen. Tap on the Phone Information for the SIM you are using and set that Network Type to UMTS/LTE.
AT&T blocks any device you did not purchase directly through them from using VoLTE and WiFi Calling. 4G is also LTE, so if you see the 4G icon, that is also LTE and 4G+ is also LTE-A.
