Restore issues with philz touch. - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm currently using philz touch 6.26.1 clockwork mod v6.0.4.7.
Everytime i go to restore a backup, it gets halfway through the data backing up, goes dark and goes to the main screen without restoring the whole thing. I disabled the time out for dimming and shutting off. Is there another philz to use and/or can I flash a twrp.img file using rashr or equivalent? Twrp version will be 2.8.5.0. I am on stock deodexed OF6. Thanks

the thing about titanium backup does not matter you can just skip past it or hit cancle it works either way. the official CWM 5.xxx by Kouch is bugged and does not work. use team rouge's recovery it is also based on 5.xxx but it works.

[cwm][problem]

A little while ago I installed a corrupted boot animation that caused a boot loop. Then I restored the CWM backup and it was able to restore the system but not the data.
Now since I am planning to flash a custom ROM I deleted the old nandroid backup and went on to do a new backup. But CWM was able to back up only the system and not the data saying that data folder is missing though I checked using ES and data folder is there. I had made a backup before and this problem wasn't there.
Any solutions or will re flashing the recovery help it?
I am using CWM touch by Phil.
you are using the latest version of Philz Touch recovery?
I was the same in an older version, or if you try to switch to another as TWRP recovery by TeamMex (the last version before)

[Q] Auto installing CWM

I flashed cwm awhile ago and want to go back to twrp whenever i flash twrp it will boot to it once, then cwm is back after the next boot. any idea what i did wrong?

[Q] philz recovery

I recently got my phone to work by installing philz recovery, but when I flashed a custom ROM it changed my recovery to cyanogen recovery. Now I cannot get back to philz and the new one won't even let me do a backup. It sucks I want philz back. Can someone tell me what went wrong.
When I installed titanium it says I am not rooted anymore, what happened
Boot into fastboot and flash philz using fastboot commands.
Under Developer Options, you can disable Cyanogen recovery.

Touch doesn't work in TWRP, Renovate ROM but work in stock ROM

So I installed Renovate Rom 13.0 three days back and today suddenly the touch stopped working. I had to use my mouse to browse through my phone and found that I lost root in my phone as well. So I guessed this has something to do with the screen being unresponsive.
I uninstalled substratum completely with all the overlays and rebooted my phone and the touch was working fine again. Next, I tried to open the recovery mode from the power menu in order to flash supersu, the did boot into recovery into TWRP instead it booted the system and the touch became unresponsive again.
I decided to reset my phone, tried the button combination to go to the recovery mode, the notification lighted up as blue but it didn't take me to TWRP instead rebooted the system. So I assumed the TWRP was somehow gone/ corrupted or whatever so my only rescue was to flash the stock firmware via Odin. I flashed the stock Oreo firmware and the touch was working again.
Now when I finally thought the problem was fixed and decided to flash TWRP again to root and flash custom ROM, the flashed TWRP and the touch again stopped working in TWRP. Now before doing anything further and trying to figure out whats wrong, I want you guys to help me out with this problem.
This is a really strange problem which I have never encountered with any of the phones I have ever owned.
