Hi all.Very noob question but hope you can help and I'm able to explain what I mean correctly.I own a Gionee elife e7. The screen from the very top to approximately 1.5cm down does not recognise touch so I'm unable to use the action bar and I'm unable to game correctly due to the touch screen been nackered in that area.Is there anyway I can use a build.prop alteration or the such to essentially make change the layout boundaries of my diplay making it shorter overall dropping the "edge" of my screen say 1.8cm from top of my phone therefore bypassing the touchscreen problem? I've tried my best to explains and a sincere thank you for any help.please ask if my question is not explanatory enough.

I am looking for some help designing an app specifically for the SGSII as it will be useless on any other phone that can't turn off pixels when not in use. I know there are other phones out there that can but thats not my target.
Not sure this is the correct sub forum but please more if needed.
I am looking to create an app like NoLed but instead of it displaying icons and such across the screen I would like it to only display the status bar. I have tried to figure how MADMACK got the app to display when the screen is "off" but no luck. If anyone could help me with this I would appreciate it.
I know I could use the combination of a few apps to achieve this desired look but I really feel that I could improve upon having to use multiple apps and in turn cut battery consumption. I have a little experience so someone with some patience is needed but I do learn quickly and am not against doing my own research. I just need some guidance. I can do some basics in Eclipse and have read some Android Application development 101's but am not finding what I need to know where to start.
Hello! I've been reading around these forums for awhile, since i got my kindle for Christmas, and the information and support I've gotten from here has been astoundingly extensive, but now i need help with something specific.
I've gotten PSX4DROID working on my barebonesCM7 build but the virtual keypad displayed onscreen is too small for me to operate comfortably. Is there a way for me to change some settings in the programs code to, say, add another sizing option? One twice as large, but following the same emulation and placement parameters, and without breaking the program?
Actually all the buttons on my kindle are too small as I'm very big and tall, and have large fingers. I'd like to be able to do the equivalent of decreasing my screen resolution, or just increase the buttons real estate on screen in any way possible. but my main question is still whether or not i can do it to an apk at all, since i'll need that information in the future for other onscreen key generating programs.
Thanks in advance, guys! Seriously, this site is the best!
You could try reducing the screen DPI that might make them bigger.

Hello Devs,
To begin with I have HTC One V (using shpongle 4.2.2 rom) whose bottom ~50px (full width) are not working properly and to make it worse, somehow the rotation sensor is not working. So, I would like to restrict the display from original resolution 480x800 to say 480x750. I tried using apps like "Resolution NoMone" but many applications are crashing with that and it vertically centers the screen wasting 25px at the top.
Would modifying any system properties manually help me achieve what I want?
A simple grep shows /system/build.prop has "ro.device.screen_res=480x800". I tried changing this to 480x750 (taking ideas from this post) but it didn't work
I would really appreciate any help in this.

Just so I'm clear on what you're actually trying to do, are you actually trying to just change your dpi? Or who suggested it to be a wise idea to try and change your resolution?
Keep in mind tinkering with your build.prop can be dangerous if you are not certain of what you're doing.

No I am not changing DPI. Keeping DPI same, I want to discard the bottom 50px of my screen and make the system behave as if the screen is of size 480x750px. Well I have passed through the phase of screwing up my mobile and recovering it (thanks to XDA) and I am willing to take all risks to fix this. Worst case I will need to flash the rom again and thats welcomed
OK well all I can suggest is you post your question here and wait for someone to give support

Hi everyone. I recently bought a galaxy note 10 plus. It is a huge and beautiful looking smartphone and also have a nice screen but the little cam dot is kind of annoying so I've decided to use one of that specific wallpapers to "hide" the dot. But, for no reason at all, my notification bar always turn gray, like overshadowed or something like this, losing all of the immersion of the screen with the nice wallpapers.
I've tried contact my local Samsung support but they doesn't even understood my problem.
Is there a way to fix it ?
i've tried to post a Image to Indicate the problem but I'm a new user so the forum don't let me do it. if anyone know a Way to share this and get the real situation, will help.
Thanks
Hello guys this is my first time to post here I need some help and I believe you guys have the enough skills and experience to help me out.
I downloaded this app called Back button - everywhere from the playstore
It's working fine and everything but I was wondering if someone could increase the size of the box "button" or maybe edit the dimensions so it becomes a bit more like a rectangle button or something..
The thing is I'm not using this app for the same thing it was made for, I'm only using it to hide a specific part of my phone screen just to avoid touching that part. So yeah if you guys have an alternative to it I'd appreciate that I have been trying to find anything similar but unfortunately I couldn't, most likely it's the only app that fits my need. I can set it to "do nothing when clicked" also the transparent background is what I love about so yeah
In the photo these are the options I can edit the size but it's limited to that particular area (red box)
Could someone help just make that box a little more bigger? That's all I need thank you
Edit : double it's size horizontally would be perfect. Like.. two boxes next to each other that's the size I need thank you
An app named "Back button - everywhere" isn't available on Google Play Store. But 2 apps named "Back button - anywhere". What the app you really refer to?
