Hi,
My Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 LTE experienced the often discussed reboot error, but additionally it now says that the passcode is incorrect when logging in. I haven't changed it, and have no idea why it changed.
How do you bypass or fix this? I don't want to do a reset.

Hi,
I was changing my PIN on my Samsung Note 3. After putting in the current PIN and then putting in the new PIN. I was prompted to confirm the PIN. The "settings app" was then forced closed. I returned to the PIN change setting but my current PIN nor the new PIN that I was trying to change to worked. I then restarted my phone and I'm completely locked out.
If the PIN was not changed due to the force close of 'settings' shouldn't the PIN be unchanged? I tried all PINs I've used in the past as well as 1111,0000,1234, last 4 digits of phone number, SSN... everything but still doesn't work.
Any suggestions? I don't want to factory reset the phone. Please help! Please!
------UPDATE-------
I found that using Google's Android Device Manager I can remotely change the PIN. I can see from the website and also on the phone that the password is changing. If I change from a numberic PIN to a text password, the password input keypad changes from number only to a full keyboard. So, i'm sure that the password was changed remotely. However, the temporary password that I recent using Android Device Manager still doesn't work!!!! Can anyone help?
I had a small hardware shop unlock a Rogers Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-930W8) and many things have straight-up stopped working. Keyboard, back and recent apps vibration feedback is always weaker than usual. I have already factory reset this phone 5 times out of frustration now, and have tried to also back up a phone from Smart Switch, but all Smart Switch is giving me is a "Failed to connect to device, the connection to this device has timed out." Another difference from before and after is Knox giving me a Security notice, details are "Unauthorized actions have been detected." When I tap the notification, it brings me to the Device security part of Settings, and says that there is a Threat found and I have to restart the phone to undo any unauthorized changes, upon restarting the same error appears in the notification pane everytime I try this process. I have also noticed unexplained slowdowns while launching apps and hitting back and the phone actually doing something. Yet another thing I have noticed is that the phone does not seem to remember any WiFi connections that I connect to and takes excessively long to turn on WiFi and excessively long to connect to any WiFi connection. Another different thing that happens is whenever I reboot the phone, a process called "LoggingService" always crashes. There are still several issues I have noticed, and it's only been 3 hours since unlocking the phone. The device is not rooted.
My dad has been unable to unlock his S7, despite trying to do so directly with Rogers. Did you unlock the phone yourself? Were you able to figure out what went wrong after the unlocking?
I do not know what caused my phone to demand a password. Does anyone know how to get past this without doing a factory reset? Message: to start your device enter your password. I have S7 SM-G930F. Thanks!

My device is set to use fingerprint unlocking but I am required to enter a password after a day of unuse.
How can I prevent the password requirement and just rely on Fingerprint ID? ( I realize something else is going on when the device reboots but that is not the problem I wish to resolve)
Tab S2 TM-t813 (US WiFi model) with Android 6.0.1.
The Tab has SU and TWRP now and hopefully that will make it easier to solve my problem.

Restarts may be the cause
For security reasons, every time my moto g4 is restarted, I'm asked to insert the pin, in order to use fingerprint unlock.
* Your device may work the same way, and as it is restarting randomly, it may restart at a time when it was not looking and when it picks up the device it seems that "it just asked for the pin without reason".
* I've never had a Tab S2 and hand and I may be talking silly, but I'm just trying to help you solve the problem
sorry about my inglesh <-
The uptime always shows it has not rebooted. Thanks for the response though. I am wondering if this is a hardware, firmware or software issue. I would like to know what can cause a device to need a password at any given time. Would a different ROM address this issue? I will keep hunting for an answer....
Hi.
I've got a bit of an interesting situation here. I had been told recently to upgrade my phone and got a Samsung Galaxy J7 Crown refurb with Android 8.0 (Oreo) on it. I'm using TracFone as my provider, and I'm having a problem where I am unable to get mobile data working. I've put tech support through the ringer 4 times now and finally ending in defeat, because they were always suggesting (different person each time, I tried to tell them what was tried before and they didn't seem to listen) to add an access point to the "Access Point Names" (APN) on the phone, but I cannot do that as the "ADD" and "Reset to default" are all greyed out. They put me to another department, too, and while the first 3 times failed due to issues not so relevant here, on the 4th it basically ended in defeat. Yes, TracFone itself was unable to advise how I could get into the settings to change it to their own network - and the existing setting that is there is a prior TracFone one, too!
Is there some way to solve this? Thanks. Would it need root access - as I saw a recent thread here about how this phone is notoriously difficult to root and nobody's found a solid method yet. Or is there - hopefully - some less drastic way to get into those settings?
