[Completed] [Help!!! Urgent!] Power button stuck! Data recovery - XDA Assist

Hi all. I need your help. My Nexus 5 suddenly began rebooting and not turning on. I made my homeworks an I found out it's the power button stuck in (not phisically, phisically is fine, it must be the inner switch or something). I tried smacking it on the side to unblock it (aka the Fonzie solution) but it didn't work, also tried massaging it, and it's no good. I tried to move the inner thing with a magnet and after various long minutes of rage and precision work I managed to make it boot for a couple of minutes, it didn't even fiinish optimizing apps, it was flat on the table, nothing touched it. I already wrote google for an RMA, but how can I recover my data without opening it? Is there a way to disable the 10 seconds force reboot behavior, or to disable the power button totally? I don't care about the phone, I just want to recover my data without loosing warranty.
Come on guys, do your magics. I'm counting on you.

Hi there,

I already read them. Found out there's no way to recover data, the internal memory cannot be pulled off and read externally. Thanks anyway

[Q] Nexus 5 Black Screen - Urgent

Hi Guys,
Tried switching SIM cards on my Nexus 5 after getting back from holiday, only to find that the screen now never turns on. I can see the phone listed on windows (not ADB) and it vibrates to power buttons etc. My urgent question is, is there ANY way to recover the data from my phone at all?
This is urgent due to me having to send this thing back to Google by tomorrow for a replacement.
Cheers,
David
Have you tried forcing a reboot by holding down the power button for 10-15 seconds?
And thankfully, it turned out that the phone is working fine apart from the screen, remembered where to tap my PIN code and all is well with the world again. Thank GOODNESS. I know you guys would do your best to help anyway
Just out of interest, has anyone else had this issue before?

[Completed] [Q] A Tough Bootloop Problem...

Good day to all. I'm here resorted to ask about my problem here because I really can't handle it. I been googling for days. I'm ran out of resources from both google and tablet. So, I hope you can help me here. Note I'm going to write this in FULL detail here, so expect this to be a extremely long post. (I been warning you) So here goes....
Anyone uses the brand Ramos?(kind of unpopular brand) I use Ramos W21, it's been using it around 1 year and a half, and it endured a lot of problems, but fixed by researching on online forums and apply various methods there. Now, I think it's finally gave up...
One time, when I opened it and play my usual apps and browsing, it caused the errors " unfortunately
google.process.gapps has stopped", unfortunately browser has stoped",and "unforturnately google play has stopped". Then, I tried to clear data the similar apps in settings as usual, and even disabling them. Then more errors exploded, and "unfortunately launcher has stopped" appears. The menu screen(where the usual wallpaper and shortcut apps are located) turns black, while my running apps are still there running. When I pressed the back key to exit the app, now only tons of errors from the launcher appears endlessly(while the screen is black.
The time I finally turned it off by hard reset it made its way to the main problem: the bootloop.
Okay, here's where the thing gets real. It opens with the usual ramos logo, but the next one is a silver flashing android logo instead of enlarged ramos logo with spinning fire from the letter o(which is NOT my usual boot up screen) When I turned it off, it reopens again up to flashing silver android logo and the cycle repeats, even with pin reset until battery dies out. No recovery mode, so I can't use it to fix this. USB connections can't be recognized when inserted to PC. And no, the tablet is not rooted, and I don't customized anything, no mods, and no fancy roms. Just using a stock rom.
So now what? All I have here is just a sd card slot, which I think there's hope in there. Right now it has two options, deal with it and fix with all of might, or repair it in the nearest repair shop(something that is pretty risky, a lot of fakes and robbers here)
Well, this is the first time I post here, so sorry for anything that goes wrong. Thanks in advance.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It sounds like a rouge app has replaced your boot animation. Rather than try to chase that down and try to fix it I'd flash the stock firmware and start all over. Unfortunately there is very little about your device on XDA. So you'll probably have to google that.
Solved!!!
Update: I FINALLY FIXED IT!!! IT WAS A MIRACLE!!! O.O
After I keep on wrecking it's power buttons and volume buttons, I discovered something decisive!
This tablet actually HAS RECOVERY MODE! Again, it has a recovery mode! However, the way how to input it is very unique compared to most devices, including other devices from the same brand!
Now having the power of recovery state, I first selected "wipe data cache". The old large Ramos logo with spinning fire appeared again! But it's still bootlooping. So I went back on recovery state, selected "factory reset" and boom, IT BOOTS LIKE BRAND NEW!!! (sacrificing my old data though)
Okay, I don't want this recovery mode powers to be kept only by me. So I'm going to share it to all Ramos users, especially the model W21, like right now!
1. To do this, you need power button and volume up button.
2. While bootlooping, hold the power button and volume button at the same time and it will turn it off(Then expect it to turn on back up again automatically)
3. When it opens up again to the small Ramos logo(no fire animation), now RELEASE the POWER BUTTON ONLY, and keep holding the volume up button. Note, this is important! If you do anymore than this, it will either black out, go bootlooping once again, or ultimately, nothing.
4. Keep holding the volume up button, then the ramos logo will disappear, and now it will enter to our holy grail, RECOVERY MODE! Congratz!
Now when you finally have a normal working Ramos tablet again, you may go there again by turning it off by "Power Off" (assuming that your tablet is open) then holding the power and volume up(then follow above!)
I hope this will help a ton for Ramos users!
I'm glad you got it working. You should post your solution here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general More people with your device will look there than in the Assist forum. Name the post something like [SOLVED] RAMOS Bootloop Problem

[Completed] [Q] How to factory reset/root/bypass pattern lock on chinese tablet?

Hey guys!
Interesting problem I've been working on, my friend's sister has a tablet (did some research, 99% sure it's the Ubox A13-MID) that has a pattern lock. She forgot the pattern, and also doesn't know what the main gmail attached to it is. I've attempted several unlock patterns, no 'forgot password?' prompt comes up. The tablet also doesn't appear to have a fastboot or recovery menu... pressing power+vol up, power+vol down, and power+vol up+down doesn't do anything, no matter how long I hold the buttons, no matter if I let the power button go after a couple seconds, nothing happens. She's not tech savvy, so I know USB debugging isn't enabled. The tablet has an SD slot, and I'm not certain if it supports OTG. But even with these considered as possible ways of restoring the tablet (by any means possible, including root), I don't see any way of doing anything with them without any system menus.
By the way, I hope this isn't a violation to ask this (any kid could come on here and ask how to unlock a stolen device, lol), so please forgive me if it is. If it would be of any aid, I have two rooted androids of my own, both support OTG. Just throwing that out there in case either of them may be able to aid in unlocking this crapplet.
Safe mode doesn't help, and launching the 'power off/airplane mode/sound' window DOES reveal the back button, home button, and screenshot button along the bottom of the device's screen, as well as the option to increase/decrease volume (I was hoping there would be the tiny chance of a settings icon there to bypass the screen). Been swiping up to see if I could launch something to bypass it, as a bug. I can take screenshots this way, but that seems to be all.
I was able to bug out the tablet by dragging the clock to the trashcan, the 3 dot icon came up on the bar but when I clicked it, the tablet just powered off
When it came back on, the clock was back, and the same cycle occurred when I did it again.
Is this a lost cause?

[Completed] Moto g2 dead

I was sitting in my room and i reached out to my phone only to find out that the screen was not displaying anything. The screen was responding to my touches but it not showing a single thing, not even a speck of light. Also the screen was very hot around the speaker area. I recently unlocked the bootloader, installed a custom recovery and installed cynogenmod. It was working fine for three days then this happened. Nothing on the screen. I switched it on and off a million times, also tried volume key and power button but nothing happens. I tried to charge it but only got hotter. Then i tried to remove cynogen mod from twrp recovery. Traced the steps from a tutorial and i think i wiped system, data and cache and maybe internal storage. Now nothing is happening. It is not even responding to my touches. It just vibrates when i press the power button. I connected it to a computer but no luck. I need help before i go to the service center because i know it wont be covered under warranty.

Blackview Tab 8 / black screen, bricked / repair?

hi all,
my new "blackview tab 8" got stuck during normal updates (after 30 mins of working with the tab). i did a softreset but it wouldn't boot anymore. i just saw the boot screen.
a few tries later, i don't see anything on the screen, i can't go into recovery mode, my computer can't find the device (I tried the adb script thas has been linked in some how-to für newbies ). the only thing it reacts to, if i hold the power button reaaaaaaaaaaally long - like 30-40 sec. then it vibrates, but nothing more happens afterwards.
there's also a tiny hole (not the one for SIM / SD) in which i poked around in the hopes that this will be a reset switch, too. and there is actually a button inside - but it doesn't do anything for me.
so, i wasn't doing any flashing, but i guess, this forum is the best source for the answer as you see a lot of bricked phones
i got the money back so i can now try to repair it myself. i already disconnected the battery and reconnected it, but that didn't help. what could be defective? is there something that i can do / test / replace?
cheers
narf
