HI all,
Late to the GS6 party, so I'm wondering if I buy a GS6 that has the new FW on it can I odin it back to OC2/3 so I can pingpong root it?
Thanks for any input!
I think this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/help/s6-return-aoc3-t3165720 answers my question. I was going to delete this post but I didn't see a delete button, so this one can probably be marked SOLVED.

TowelRoot is no longer being updated by GeoHot either am I able to use it anyway because im on the latest update from Verizon on my phone and its supposedly unrootable plus I went to app management and noticed KNOX is in there. I have no clue where to go from here. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Hi all. I'm to finally make the switch from my s4 to the s6. Now can i use pingpong to root a verizon s6? I looked at the thread, but it looked like Verizon is not supported, or maybe I'm wrong? Also from reading the thread, is it true pingpong will not trip Knox so I could unroot for warranty issues?
thanks for any info

I'll give you a quick answer but all your questions are answered in the ping pong thread in Verizon S6 General. I have the latest OT applied and ping pong roots it fine, just do download data before get root. The latest Verizon version is rootable. It will not trip knox.
Good luck

You will be totally fine. As Protibus said. Upgrade first then follow these instructions.

Sorry, one question.
I just got my S6.
Not there is an OTA update out there. Should I install the OTA update before rooting. I know if was said to do it, but I didn't know if that will put me past the AOC3 version and then I won't be able to root.
Thanks

Update, then root
Anyone else seeing this update on their Verizon S6? I'm still not sure what it is for. Phone says I still have 5.0.2 but I'm pretty sure that is what I had before.
Word
There's a topic right above this that's been up all day stating new Ota...

Sorry guys, I had taken my ambien. Only excuse I have..
Don't upgrade if you're a rooted user!!!!! I'm the one who posted about upgrading yesterday and now I can't downgrade or re-root. I'm stuck with a battery draining, bloated, non-rooted phone until our genius s6 devs come up with a way of rooting.
Help
Hey, you have found a method that works? I have the same version and still can not find anything. If you could answer would very help me.

You can't find anything because there has not been anything found yet to overcome this change.
When someone does, they will start a new thread with the news for all to see.

Yes always have been since day one. Why would you want to?
All you have to do is flash the firmware via odin
Have you already tried Superuser? I've never unrooted before, but its an option in the settings tab.
I actually figured it out you're right about downloading the firmware i was just asking to be sure cause i was scared to do it since this phone is still new and all and i didnt wanna brick it but thanks guys!
i only unrooted just to install 5.1.1. i feel so stupid for doing it now cause theres no root available

Hi guys !
Waiting for my brand new Galaxy S7 to come home, i'm checking for what can be done on it.
So, about it, is there any pre-rooted firmware that can be installed with Odin ? In order to get root without losing Knox... Don't know if it's even possible...
Thanks guys !

I don't think that's possible but you might want to have a look at the development thread for the s7.
