I'm gonna use this phone for browsing the web, whatsapp, facebook, and casual gaming. Is 1 GB ram gonna be absolutely enough?
I required a phone quickly for my holiday and was unable to wait for stock of 2gb version. Yes I would have liked to have the extra but everything I have tried on the handset has worked fine.

Some time between Android 4.4.x and 5.x, Google added extra fat to its app.
I suggest the minimum specs: 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory.
2gb is def worth the money. in the states it's only a $40 difference to double the storage and the RAM. if you're jumping between apps, you'll appreciate the extra RAM
If you only use the phone for email, browsing, navigation, texting, etc. Then 1GB is fine. But if you do a lot of multitasking then 2GB will be a lot better.

I'm getting this phone soon but just a couple questions.
Ive heard that the sensation has low available ram issues (probably sense?) but when/if a stock rom comes that should be fixed right?
Also since the avalible rom is pretty low. Would a class 10 micro sd be good for running data2sd (once we have root) were the whole data partion is on the sd.
is class 10 faster then the built in rom?
Having class10 won't make such a big difference (I purchased a class10 16Gb card and did not see any improvement compared to my class4) except that it will be faster to place big files (movies, etc) on the card
Concerning RAM, it's true that stock ROMs don't really manage it well, mainly because they start many apps in the background. Some can be killed, some will always come back after killed.
So once I've killed the useless apps after a fresh reboot, I can get a maximum of 350Mo free RAM, that tend to go to an average 250Mo after some hours of use.
Android 2.3 is not that bad in managing RAM (despite stock ROMs are) so I had low ram having a visible impact on something only once, when wanting to play Tekken 3 with Fpse and realized it was lagging because of low ram. My sensation was not laggy, only Fpse was, it demands much ressoruces! (I hadn't rebooted my Sensation for 3 days, that was the reason for low ram....now, I reboot it every 2 days, and no more problem)
So RAM is ok, if it gets kinda low, you won't notice it, and Android will tend to release ram afterwards, and once we'll have custom roms, it will be huge!

If you go to Apps..Running on an ICS tablet, what would you expect to see on a 512M Tablet vs 1GB?
Just purchased a Tablet (NatPC M009S RTB from WendyLou) that allegedly has 1GB RAM but only shows 300M (150 used, 150 free) on this screen
Both my Sony Tablet S and Galaxy S2 have 1 GB RAM and both report significantly more - c.750M and 800M.
Based on the above, I would expect the tablet to report in excess of 700M memory so I believe the supplier has sent me the wrong tablet (they also sell a 512M standard (non-RTB) version). However I received an email today saying that the 300M is right for my tablet.
Before I start refund procedings...
1) Are there any other checks I can perform
2) Are my RAM expectations unreasonable

You could use an app such as Elixir 2 to give you the most specific memory info. Your RAM expectations are not unreasonable. A device with 1gb ram should have approximately 768mb+ (slightly less in some cases, but nothing less than 700mb) available for user usage. They either sent you the wrong device, or ripped you off . 300mb is nothing close to what the device should have if it has a 1gb RAM chip.

Everything has been positive so far (albeit frustrating) so hopefully the returns procedure will be smooth.

First of all I want you to know that if it seems obvious that 8GB can be short fast, but it happens from the system stock my Moto available memory tells me they are 8GB dividing 2GB approximate for applications and another 5 GB approximate multimedia , in conclusion they are the 7.64 GB of memory 8gb. but now DIMINISH capacity considerably with custom rom and even uses all memory equally, leaving me only 3GB of storage media. be that the way in which the partition of custom rom is installed on the storage media? previously had a Samsung Advance 8GB and 4GB approximate always left me for multimedia. approximate and 2GB for applications. so my doubt

Just wondering how much RAM does the Android OS use up on everyone's HTC One A9.
On my device Android OS is consistently using around 700MB on average, which added to other apps equates to a total of 1.5GB in total of average memory use (I've got the UK version 2GB RAM, of which according to the RAM manager it only sees 1.8GB). So therefore I'm always using around 88% of my total RAM.
The next highest RAM user is Android System on 100MB.
I'm wondering is this normal? Are others seeing similar figures?
I have been wondering how we can use any Micro SD cards in the Tab as a RAM The performance of the tab is decent with the 1 GB RAM currently but it with some games like Asphalt 8 there are certain issues at times with frame freeze/drops on online gaming. Please suggest a sure shot way to do this.
