[Q] Can't unbrick phone, LG FlashTool always fails after 2 seconds.

So I edited my build.prop and forgot to reset permissions before rebooting, now my phone's bricked. I can't seem to find a kdz file for my phone (D850) so I've been trying to fix it with the tot method.
The FlashTool checked the model and instantly failed until I got a different dll file to make it skip that verification, now whenever it begins the process it always fails after 2 seconds. I've followed the procedure at least a dozen times now making sure I'm not missing anything but I just can't get this to work.
If I'm completely stuck here, would there be any way to get a replacement from AT&T? I bought the phone only a week ago so I was thinking if I pulled the defective device card they'd give me another.
Thanks in advance.

That's exactly where I ended up before making this thread. Using that dll and still getting the error. Is it a problem that the FlashTool reports back with NULL for PID and IMEI before failing?
Hate to say, but it's the first I've heard of this.

Damn, and after all the years I've spent modding my phones I never thought I'd run into something like this. Never have I not been able to fix my (or a friend's) phone after it was softbricked, hell I fixed a softbricked HD2 that was running ICS at the time.
Well this sucks, looks like I'll have to keep looking for an alternative method or I'll have to make a trip down to AT&T.
Thanks for the attempt, though. Hopefully nobody else has this issue.

No 4G LTE Signal working when it did before only getting 3G

So I did the new 4.4.3 firmware update & when it rebooted I noticed I don't get 4G LTE anymore. I tried changing network mode, airplane mode & checking APNs and nothing is working. I am scared to believe it but I think my 4G LTE radio has died, do you guys have any way I can check if its working or not? Any help @scrosler @santod040 @Tigerstown?

You can try to flash the new stock recovery an then do a factory reset an see if that repairs what got jacked up. If you do try this it will wipe your phone an remove your SD card. An backup your phone on your PC. Can't say it will work but it might. You will need the recovery from new ota ..just throwing out ideas.

[Q] Stuck in stock recovery with no firmware. PLEASE HELP!

So I was rooted with pingpongroot for a while. My phone started acting buggy and I decided to factory reset (via the settings menu in android). It failed ("dm-verity verification failed"), so I boneheadedly clicked Wipe data/factory reset in recovery, and immediately realizied what I'd done. So now I'm stuck in recovery with no firmware (I think). I can actually boot the phone but it just loads the setup wizard and I cant get out of that app. Cant even expand notifications or anything.
Can someone please guide me how to load a rom onto my phone?
You will want to download the stock firmware on your pc or you might be able to use Kies recovery to do it also.

Can you tell me, once I get the file on my device, how would I flash it? Would it be in recovery > install from ADB? Or maybe Install from external storage?
Well if you were on pc it would be you connecting your phone to the pc and it would be a simple process of letting it's do its own thing. I'm not sure fimilar with a way for you to flash a stock firmware on your phone. Just for the heck of it try to boot in safe mode, turn off your phone then press and h o ld volume down and the power button until you get a menu of normal boot etc. Go to safe mode and try to boot up and see what happens. I don't think it will help but it's worth a shot maybe you will be able to get somewhere. Otherwise maybe you have a friend that has a laptop or something that is a Windows pc?

On a mac you need Samsung Smart Switch, it will be able to fully restore your phone with the newest Firmware, you could also use the Verizon verizon upgrade assistant. I used the Verizon option and it hung at 66% for 2 1/2 hours, I ended up going to my local best buy, they had a samsung experience center, and they just reflashed it for me for free!

I have this same phone......rooted. Can use your help. I want flash any working verizon rom. But more importantly I want to know how to recover from a brick..............
Noticed you were able to recovery from a brick......with Odin? Curious how. I tried to flash a stock Verizon rom, while rooted with ODIN, and pit file.......but it fails.
I am nervous of trying to flash TWRP and custom rom, if I don't know of a full proof recovery method.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

Last question, does that stock contain the modem (modem.bin)? My phone is unbricked but the EFS is messed up because I flashed a marshmallow update via TWRP and did not backup my EFS. I eventally had to restore my original 5.0.2 stock rom.

Phone bricked after updating

Yeah. That's it. I just clicked on Update (from Settings menu), it rebooted. Completed the whole process, then booted into Huawei eRecovery. Which has three options:
Download latest version and recovery
Reboot
Shutdown
Chose the first, it connected to WiFi and searched for 'package' from server but didn't find any. Then just showed me the other two options. Now I'm stuck here. I choose the first option, it searches, fails and tells me to reboot.........................
Note : Never unlocked bootloader, rooted, custom recovery or anything.

That didn't happen to me. Are you sure about your phone's model? Flashing wrong ROM doesn't cause phone to not turn on. Check if it charges
