I'm running 5.0.2 and I'm not even sure if it's an option on my SM-P900. I've searched for hours on Google and XDA and have tried every guide possible.
Is their a one-click app for the Note Tablets or anything?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Ok I'm owner of the P905 and I could root the device with CF-auto root without any problems. Pls keep in mind, that Knox will be triggered if he is still on 0x0. Knox was on my device still set to 0x1, so it doesn't matter.
The old debloat scripts doesn't work with 5.0.2 So I've (hopefully all) disabled all apk's manual

Hi,
I am really tempted to root my work phone and I am totally digging these Temporary Root methods like TowelRoot and KingRoot where the root is lost upon reboot. I haven't been able to find a clear answer and I figured i'd ask here.
Can someone tell me if these methods trips the KNOX warranty counter? I have a Note 4 and like I said, it's a work phone and I wouldn't want any issues down the road if I left the company or whatever.
I would be open to hearing if there are permanent root methods that don't trip KNOX as well for the Note 4.
Thx in advance.
I found this older thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2499546&page=2
Where they are saying it doesn't trip knox, but I'm not sure about now in 2015.

That thread is for Note 3.
By the way, Latest Kingroot doesn't trip the Knox.
Anyway, you could ask it in the Note 4 Forum here.
Hi everyone,
i have been searching for 2 weeks how to root this phone, but no luck yet. I am saying no luck for a proper way to do it , because you can do it with the avant method, or by using the CF method which uses the SM-G386T firmware, and for reading lots of forums, i know it works, but the problem is if i ever want to update later, i would not be able to do so. I already have the firmware for my phone, G386WVLU1ANJ1, running android 4.4.2 KITKAT, and i have extracted the recovery.img from the firmware file. I am searching how to unlock the bootloader so i can apply whatever rooting method i want. Since i am new to this, i need some information. If i ever want to use the CF-Auto-Root method using the SM-G368T model, can i go back to stock phone whenever needed by flashing recovery image from the SM-G386W ?. If not, is there any other method i can use, preferably one that doesn't trip my KNOX flag to 0x01. Until now i have tried 2 methods, Towelroot and Z4root, which didn't work at all. The main reason i want to root is i want to get rid of the bloatware installed by default on my phone and gain control of my phone without any restrictions, and customizing it.
Please need help.
Thank you very much
P.S: can anyone recommend some reading about rooting android phones?
wow , 107 views, not even a single answer !!!!!
Sorry dudes, but you call taht help ?

Update 2015/06/28: i finally did manage to root it properly with iRoot.
Thanks for nothing !!!
Again, i am sorry, but it p***es me off !!

I also own one of these phones and would like to root the phone to get rid of bloat ware and make the phone run smoother. I would appreciate if you could give a quick run down on how you managed your root. Greatly appreciated.

Just got my Note Pro P900 yesterday and am a bit frustrated at the lack of a way to root it without tripping Knox. The Note 3 N9005 has similar hardware and can be rooted without tripping Knox. All that's needed is to downgrade the kernel using PC Odin to one that allows the vulnerability used by Towelroot, let Towelroot do its stuff then flash the correct kernel back. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?
Anyone tried this yet?
This sounds like a good idea if it works. Any info on whether it does?
I wasn't able to track down any earlier kernels. I wonder if flashing the kernel from the Note 3 (very similar hardware) that contains the susceptibility would be enough to let Towelroot work? Or would it trip Knox/result in a non-booting phone?
Is this the most recommended method to root my Verizon Note 12.2? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783950
Is this a permanent root? Will I be able to receive and install OTA updates from Verizon if I use this root and will the root be uninstalled as a result?

That's a good question . I'm looking to root without tripping Knox on my wifi version I just purchased off of ebay. I'm looking for an tar.md5 to start with.. Any help would be appreciated.
Same here. A White WiFi Note 12.2 64GB I bought off eBay, which according to Samsung's website, doesn't exist.
Hello,
Great tablet... I just got one off ebay myself and I see towelroot does not work- app not installed. I Allowed unknown sources in security. I am curious as to why you guys are concerned about tripping the knox since this I think this tablet would be out of warranty, unless you would not want to trip it for resale?
Any success on rooting so far? I am no too experienced but the first thing I'd like to do is get the apk from this enhanced s-note on all my other note tablets and phone.

I tried 2 different versions of Kingroot with no success.
Hi I used the cf auto root - check the 1st pic I attached. Once you plug in a windows pc it should download the samsung drivers then download that specific dl in the pic (I can't copynpaste on here)- it gives you the latest odin program download. It really easy from there. Once you reboot, supersu is there. I then dl'd root checker, titanium backup, busybox, root explorer and most important twrp manager from the play store. It was all too easy. I'm on 5.02 and I did check the knox and it started but stopped and said it couldn't be accessed at this time. I'm keeping the stock rom and just wiped dalvik and cache in recovery.

The most effective way to root this tablet is with Cf-autoroot. It will trip the Knox counter but it will permanently enable SuperSU on your device.
If you root your device you will NOT be able to take OTAs. If you run rooted stock firmware it will alert you that an update is available but most likely it will fail to install. I tried updating my firmware while rooted via Kies and it failed each time.
I'm looking to root my phone, but I have a few questions. I just want to make sure I'm using a method that will work for my phone as I seem to have an uncommon version. I'm on a small carrier, and I'm questioning how I can root without tripping KNOX. Every guide I've found seems to indicate there are questions about rooting my phone. My build version also never shows up on any of the guides as a supported build.
Relevant information:
Galaxy S6
Model: SM-G920R6
Android Version: 5.0.2
Baseband Version: G920R6WWU2AOF2
KNOX version: 2.4
Anyone able to point me to a root that will work, and not trigger KNOX? Any guides are welcome as well!
As far as I know there isnt a way to root without triggering knox , and if you want to root you could probly find a guide quite eaisly , if its that you want to still be able to use knox secured apps etc use magisk

I tried PingPong. It notified me that it could not complete (I assume because I have an unsupported version).

Will Android Pay still work with magisk? I'm not familiar with it. I was under the impression that I would be permanently unable to use mobile payment applications if Knox was triggered. Is that wrong?

Yes it will , enable magisk hide and it should work , android pay dosnt use knox , i think samsung pay does but android pay is not effected by knox
Install magisk and it will all be fine
Also for rooting , just flash twrp with odin then flash magisk for root etc
