Anyone else experiencing this? I have all sorts of weird issues with Car Mode, but this one takes the cake.
Whenever the Infuse exits Car Mode (whether I have launched Doubletwist in the recent past or not doesn't seem to matter), my Infuse will start playing music over the speaker from Doubletwist.
Launching Doubletwist and pausing play doesn't work, the music continues to play until I go into task manager and kill Doubletwist from there.
All I've got to say is WTF?

I have same problem when i use my Logitech speakers through me headphone jack or when I disconnect my Bluetooth. And mine keeps playing the same freaking song. Haven't figured it out myself either.
OK, that might narrow it down to disconnecting from bluetooth, since that's part of the exit from car mode. I had some unrelated issues with Navigation and did a factory reset yesterday and I'm reinstalling doubletwist. I got rid of AZW launcher as a result of this and haven't reinstalled it. I'll see if this problem continues.
Yep
Still happening with doubletwist even after the factory reset. This has to be a doubletwist bug.

I have had an issue with bluetooth doing this at disconnect. It has primarily been an android issue....not specific to any rom or phone.
Scenario 1. music playing, car gets turned off ie bt device off, music continues to play.
Scenario 2. music playing, car gets turned off ie bt device off, music pauses but resumes randomly
There was once some info in the Evo forums about this but It will take some digging for me to find it. The only solution I can think of now it to completely end (or kill on apps like doubletwist and mixzing) the music app prior to disconnect.
I will see if I can find the googl issue and the info I recall seeing in the evo forum.

I really don't think it's the same thing, actually. What you are describing seems to be a missed event (BT disconnect) that should stop an already running process (music player, doubletwist, etc).
What's happening to me is that doubletwist isn't even running in the first place and it starts playing music on BT disconnect. When you launch doubletwist to stop the music, it shows that it is NOT playing anything, while the task manager shows that it is and the music only stops when the process is killed.
I checked on doubletwist's forums and this issue has been raised and has 12 votes, beginning back in 2010, and they've chosen to not fix it.
I uninstalled doubletwist today and the problem has not reoccurred with a different app, so I think that pretty much points the finger at the app, rather than Android.

that is really odd....
I have issues with a few of my music apps that are very similar. (can't stand doubletwist so that isn't one)
many of them have no dedicated stop/end function, so even if i back out...they still linger in the background unless forcestop
THEN...when the disconnect event takes place they start playing
in your case it sounds like you verified doubletwist is not in task list running, bt disconnects/exit car mode and it starts itself?
I haven't gone so far as to check the task list before disconnect, but doubletwist had not been launched by me. I suppose it's possible it was lurking in the background if Android was running it without my knowledge, but that seems unlikely as often as this happens.
I'm chalking this up to a badly coded app and moving on.

Gotcha....yeah i ditched doubleteist for that reason...there were several system events that troggered it to open on its own...mainly plugging the phone in to a charger...the phone would go into mass storage mode every time.
U made the right decision lol

The newest versions of Google Maps and Navigation have combined the Navigation volume with the Media Volume. I've read that by rolling back the version of the app to somewhere around 5.7 - 5.8, you can get your separate Nav and Media volume back, however I'd like to keep the latest version. Is there an app somewhere that allows for control of individual application volumes (similar to the newer versions of Windows' volume mixer)? I'd like to be able to separate the voice and media again.
Thanks,
Dan

Close but no cigar. This app only allows volume control of existing system functions like media, notifications, ringer, etc. Since the latest versions of Google Maps cram voice navigation and media (music, etc) into the same category, I can't control them independently.
A little back story:
I have a new motorcycle helmet with bluetooth capability. I need to be able to hear the navigation over my music. I'd turn music off and JUST have navigation, BUT... there is a delay between the navigation speaking and the bluetooth realizing it and switching back on from an idle/sleep mode, resulting in me missing directions.
What I want is for pandora to play sweet and soft tunes into my earholes while I'm riding, and for me to be able to crank the navigation volume WAY THE HELL UP so I can hear it. With the audio constantly playing through it I won't have the bluetooth wake-from-rest problem that I have using navigation alone.

It's been awhile, so I don't know if my memory serve me right. But there is a hidden menu for the audio settings for the Charge. If you do a search for the code, once you in, you can set the volume for navigation and media volume to balance out. There should be a threads in this forum for the recommended settings. Good luck.

The hidden menu option looks like it works (I can still do test mode, screen debugging, etc) but the dialer code for the audio menu no longer works (I'm on FP1, stock debloated).
Back to square one.
I'd rather have the app I'm looking for than try to hack the audio settings.
Well, I have finally found someone with EXACTLY similar problem!
I also ride a motorcycle and also listen to the music while riding and ALSO use Google Navigation!! Long ago there were good days when some version of GMaps/Navigation had a separate volume control but now it's gone.
It is impossible to hear anything with the music playing. I have tried several workarounds - one of them is to use PowerAmp and to force it to pause music every time any "other" sound plays. It didn't work. Or, well, technically it did, but the difference in volume levels between the music and navigation was so high, that I couldn't hear a thing.
I see a lot of people posting thingies like Super-Beats, Super-Duper-Beats, Super-Duper-Awesome-Beats, claiming that this is some sort of "audio driver" that is getting installed "on the system level" so that the sound is better/louder/deeper/crispier. I guess what we need is a similar solution, that would just add more "audio channels" - a separate one for Navigation, probably for smth else.
Is it at all doable?
Cheers'n'thanks!

I have found that while I'm listening to my music via the Music Play app, the song volume mutes while making the notification sound (the music does not pause though).
see if that helps.
I've been having an issue with Bluetooth streaming audio on every original development rom I've flashed. I'm currently running Slim-4.2.2 build 5.
The problem is that when I'm listening to music through my bluetooth headphones (LG Tone HBS-700) and an incoming call comes through, the music I'm listening to through my headphones comes blaring out the phone's speaker instead of being paused. This happens only when the phone is in vibrate or silent mode. If I have the phone in ringer mode, then the music will pause and the actual ring tone will play out the phone's speaker as it should.
I use Poweramp for local music and Pandora and Spotify as well. For some reason the problem doesn't show itself when I'm listening to Poweramp; only when I'm listening to Pandora or Spotify. (I haven't tried any other apps).
It's only incoming calls too, notifications don't play out the phone's speaker while in silent/vibrate mode during music playback.
A temporary solution for me is to set my ringtone to "none", but then when I have my phone in ringer mode, I have to remember to manually set the ringtone to the one I want and vice versa. I could use something like tasker to handle that, but I'd prefer to fix the root problem if possible vs. covering it up with a hack.
Has anyone else encountered this and hopefully been able to fix it? I'd really like to leave my phone in vibrate mode at work without the possibility of my music blaring out the phone if I get a phone call.
Not a single person has encountered this issue?

Have you tried an app called Soundabout? It is not just a bluetooth issue even with wired headsets this happens also. You will have to get the paid version for Bluetooth settings.
Yeah, I tried out Soundabout with the pro license. I messed with every setting and I couldn't get it to fix the problem.
I never use wired headphones so I didn't know that was an issue too. I just tried out some wired headphones to see if it behaved the same way and there's actually zero issue with wired headphones in relation to an incoming call on my phone. In silent mode, the audio continues to play out the wired headphones and I see a phone call on my screen.
As it turns out, now setting my ringtone to "None" doesn't work as a temporary solution anymore. Media audio from Pandora and Spotify will reroute to the phone's speaker for an incoming call on silent or vibrate mode. I'm going to try out Slim's weekly build 5.5. If that doesn't work, I'm going to check out a custom kernel. If nothing, I may need to revert back to stock as this is a deal-breaker. I can't have my phone making unnecessary noise in a quiet area in the slim chance I get a phone call.
Any and all solutions are welcome if anyone has any ideas or troubleshooting methods they'd like to suggest. Thanks!
same here on stock
i am getting the same thing and running a stock Droid Razr android v. 4.1.2
very f'n annoying when i get calls at work and i got jams playing and all the sudden just blares out the phone speakers.

Hi,
Got a seriously annoying problem. Whenever my phone connects to bluetooth, which is usually in my car, it starts playing the last song I listened to by auto launching google play music and playing away. I don't know if I'm being blind but I can't find a setting to turn this off. Sometimes I might want to stream music in the car, but not automatically on connecting!
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Sorry to jump on this ages old thread, but I'm wondering this same thing. Google Play Music is the culprit, just like you, and it's also when I connect my phone to my car's bluetooth and I don't want it to automatically play. I didn't find any options within the app itself.
I had this issue before and I used ROM Toolbox Pro to turn off one of the autostart receivers for this app and that seemed to work, but I cannot remember which one it was or even how it would've become enabled again in the first place.
EDIT: I think one reason for this is any songs that might be in 'queue' inside the app. Like if you were playing from a playlist or something. Wipe the songs out of the queue (should just be able to swipe them away) and I think that should work.
I'm still looking for a bluetooth receiver I might be able to disable to not have to worry about it.
Interesting. I've always had to use third party options to MAKE the phone autostart music when connecting to bluetooth. As the above posts states there are no options in Play Music to turn this on or off. What ROM are you running? Is it possible your ROM, a third party app, or maybe even your head unit is causing this?
My Galaxy S6 keeps randomly pausing music playback while I have it connected to the aux input in my car for no apparent reason. Phone is rooted on the stock AT&T Rom and has been restored via ODIN twice without any change. It did this before root as well without change. I have disabled nuplayer in the dev settings and tried resyncing my library multiple times thinking it was due to corrupted files. This clearly is a samsung issue and seems to be apparent with older generations of the Galaxy series as well. Does anyone have a fix? I can't imagine the rest of you are actually putting up with this bug on a $600 phone. It's really driving me nuts having to keep fiddling with the damn phone while I'm driving to unpause the music, raise the volume past the warning, just to do it again a few minutes later. Tried the stock music app as well as doubletwist, no changes. Could this be caused by some motion sensing feature that needs to be disabled?
So who here has a fix? Appreciate any tips or solutions. Thanks
I know I'm not the only one. Who knows the fix and wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks
Bump for info
I have a similar issue, as my Bluetooth earphones just stops playing music. The the strange thing is that my other pair of Bluetooth earphones work fine, and I've never had any issue with other Bluetooth media connections (including those in a car). It could be specific to your car.
I'm using Google Play Music.
Have you tried it with another system?

Do you guys happen to have the music pause gesture? Had this problem with the note 3 where video seems like it was lagging really bad but it was actually pausing and unpausing because of smart stay. Turned it off and it was perfect. It's probably a screen protector messing with the sensors for the gesture.

I faced this too.
This happened when i play music directly from the Widget. However if i open the app and play music, it didnt stop.
Hope this helps.
Blame the ****ty memory management that keeps killing apps.

OP, are you saying that when it pauses, it also resets the volume warning? Or was that just additional annoyance?
^^Combination of both. When playing music on the device via aux in my car, I have the phone set to max volume, then control volume output via my car. When using the stock music app, doubletwist, etc, the music will randomly pause playback for no reason while the screen is off while the phone sits in my lap untouched. Smart stay is off, and I'm running out of ideas honestly. Been listening to Pandora recently and haven't had issues in the past four days, so it's something with music playback for the device only. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Maybe your cable is loose or has a bad connection on one end or the other? When you unplug headphones, music playback stops. Try using an app like Trigger or Tasker to make something happen on headphone unplug, such as launching a certain app or whatnot so that you'll know if the phone thinks it got unplugged.
Try clearing the cache of the music app ir use Cache Cleaner (downloadable from Playstore) to clean all cache. You can also try going to recovery mode to wipe cache.
Unfortunately I clear cache weekly, and am certain its not a connection issue. Are there additional touch or motion sensor other than the smart stay function (currently disabled) that could be triggering this?
I don't know what to tell you. Using aux is similar to plugging in via headphones and I've had no issues in that regard. I've had no problems with Bluetooth streaming either. In cases like this, it could be app interference or faulty hardware.
Sent from my SM-T805 using Tapatalk
Is it only happening when you're using it in your car? What about with headphones or BT audio connections.
Do you have any sound effects enabled? I noticed that SoundAdapt really affected the performance of my phone, so it could be a factor.

I'm almost certain its some kind of gesture that is interfering. I don't use any of them and will gladly disable anything that could remotely cause this. I noticed the other night when my friend was driving my car, I was sitting in the passenger seat with my phone playing music through aux for at least an hour and no pausing whatsoever. I had the phone in my hand the entire time instead of near my leg sitting face up on my seat, which made me realize it must be some lockscreen gesture interfering. Any ideas?
Is the screen actually on? I don't know of any gestures that have an effect while the screen is off other than the one that makes the time display pop up, and I don't think that would cause music to pause.
There's a gesture that mutes if you put your hand over the sensors. Maybe it thinks that is getting tripped? But I don't know if that would cause the music to pause. Maybe try intentionally doing that gesture to see what effect it has?
If you think it's a gesture, just disable all of them and see if the problem clears up, then slowly reenable them to see when it breaks again.

Thanks. I will try that and let you know. I went ahead and disabled all of them. The screen is off btw when this happens.
I think it is because you are playing the music on full volume. I believe that the phone on some songs can't support the power output causing it to pause. Try instead playing it one level less than max. I noticed that this only happens with some songs specifically at max volume. This doesn't happen at a lower volume on these songs.
Galaxy s6 edge and s6 music pause or stop issue fixed
i had the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge. music stops or pauses especially when i am using Soundcloud, pandora, Milk music player or Beatport.
but i fixed the issue .
First open the "Smart Manager" app and select battery.
Second select "details" and you should see most of the apps that uses more power.
Select "Cancel Auto stop" on the apps u want will be using especially your music app. if you don't want then to stop after sometime.
Thank you
Hope this solves ur problem
I am having this same problem on my S6 edge. Not rooted (first phone I haven't felt the need to root since the Evo).
It happens whether using connected headphones, bluetooth headphones, or in the car A2DP using the Google Music app, Pandora, or Slacker.
Was hypothesizing that notifications are causing the pauses. Would like to try the suggestion above but WHERE IS THE SMART MANAGER app?
Also, was wondering if anyone with the problem fooled around with the animation scale settings described here: http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/galaxy-s6-tips-and-tricks/4/ (under How to unlock Developer options)? Wondering if that is causing my/our problems.
Thanks,
Tony
