HI, i recently unlock my mobile (globe) Galaxy S6-G920f (dual sim) via a payed unlock service from a certain website. It was unlocked successfully and new network appear shortly, but without mobile data it means i cant receive an internet signal only call or text. I have notice this message in APN settings in which i cant add new APN setup "Unable to view the access point name settings. Access is restricted for the current user profile".
If anyone experience this feel free to share it before i flash any custom roms or root it, thanks.
You can:
1. Go to recovery mode and wipe cache.
2. Try enabling screen lock with your chosen security method.
3. Go to Gobe and get settings and enter them manually.
4. Do full reset.
5. Flash stock 5.1.1 ROM via odin.

I got an S6 from US Cellular back in August. I moved out of their service area shortly after that. I was told by US Cellular that my device was unlocked and I could switch carriers. I took it to ATT the other day and they put a SIM card in it. I was able to make/receive calls and send/receive texts. However, I was not able to access the internet over 3G or 4G.
After about an hour on the phone with tech support, the ATT associate said it came down to not being able to access the APN settings. I did some reading and saw that there were apps that would create a shortcut to my APN settings. I dl'ed, installed, and opened the app (Change Apn). All I see is "Unable to view the access point name settings. Access is restricted for the current user profile." I have an option to add my own APN settings but it appears to do nothing.
I rooted my phone just now using http: //galaxys6root.highonandroid. com/galaxy-s6-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s6s6-edge-on-android-5-1-1/ because I read that it would open up all of the settings. I followed all the steps just as they are written. I downloaded Root Checker Basic and it tells me that I am fully rooted. However, I still cannot access my APN settings.
Does anyone know of any way to access my APN settings? Is there a way to remove all restrictions on my phone?
I also tried http: //theunlockr. com/2013/07/19/how-to-delete-locked-apns-on-your-android-device/ to alter APN settings and this didn't work either.
Have you tried this:
Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > Then add your AT&T APN. Then after choose the AT&T APN, no need to delete the current settings.
Well, yes, that's why I dl'ed Change Apn. Because there is no "Access Point Names" under "Mobile Networks" or any other menu. Otherwise, I would have had this figured out in five minutes. Once I dl'ed Change Apn, all I see is "Unable to view the access point names setting..."

I would go to sammobile, go on firmware and download the Stock Firmware for your device. Check what device you have (e.g. G920F or G920I). Flash it through Odin.
You need to do this because you probably have branded firmware, some operators like to lock out some features so try to download a non-branded firmware for your device.
Or, since you have rooted, you might as well take the next step and install an Custom ROM, then it should work and the APN Settings should be there.

For Flashing a new firmware (you will need to re-root): Use this guide: http://www.youmobile.org/blogs/entr...-to-your-Samsung-Device-Using-ODIN-3-Tutorial
It is the easiest and best guide to flash using ODIN.
I purchased a brand new LG G Flex 2 and It dawned on me that it was a Sprint variant LS996, rooted and unlocked. I do not live in the US and the phone is working fine with my local carrier, except that there is no tethering option. It currently has Android 5.1.1 installed and software version is ZV6. Since the phone is rooted, OTA updates download but fail during installation.
Now, what I want to achieve is to update the phone to the latest software version and also retain the carrier unlock. I would be thankful if someone can point me in the right direction. It would also be nice if I am able to make a full backup of my system in its current state so I can revert if things don't well.
Thanks
I am in the same situation with my LG g flex 2, there is no hotspot option.
Follow my back to stock guide with stock images on general section. That should help you to go unroot pretty easy and then ota update. Read through that forum there are several suggestions you may apply too.

Thanks for your reply. From what I understand, I have to flash stock ZV6, OTA update to ZV9, and then flash rooted ZV9. Will I lose the SIM unlock in the process? I have seen some people on another forum claim that they went through this process without losing the SIM unlock. On an another note, I managed to enable tethering by changing network mode to Lab in the LTE settings hidden menu. This also disabled the annoying Hands Free Activation screen. However, the Wi-Fi tethering is limited to 1 user. I tried the suggestion of changing SPR to GLOBAL in build.prop, but I couldn't save the file if I added anymore than three characters in place of SPR. I also tried adding dun to APN type in the LTE settings menu, but found out that APN type is not editable.

Hello my operator started volte only on s9 so i extracted home csc from s9 and copied customer.xml pasted to csc folder but still not working. Or we need to flash modem too? Which files are related for volte to working i want to have early before they release.for s7 Or is device related
Thanks
Bump
Don't mess with the files unless you know what you are doing ! (you obviously not).
If your operator haven't enabled VoLTE for SM-G930, there is nothing you can do, only change operator, or phone.

If i could jump in here.
Volte isn't anything to do with csc, it's dependant on the operater enabling on the network and the firmware your device is running.
If your firmware is branded by the network this is how it can be enabled for specific devices and not yours , if your firmware isn't branded then the network operator cannot disable on your device. Unbranded firmware has all call functions enabled by default including Volte.
Some network operators even link functions to IMEI, if this is the case the only option is to change the phone.

I have custom rom, if volte work for s9 should work for s7 too, so how they fix it? Volte on other devices , by updating firmware of course. Is firmware related not phone . They dont have compatibility to disable for some devices the tower is for all so they cant disable band.
But i will try to fix it i wont give up :good:
Working on SM-G930FD with Mint Mobile USA
Hi there,
I thought that I would share my findings. I got volte working on G930FD. The setting comes up under Connections --> Mobile Networks --> VoLTE calls. I have tested it with calls and LTE Discovery app to make sure that I am not dropping back down to 3g/H+/etc... The calls are so much better for me. I am hard of hearing, so it really helped me. I will list how I did it below.
1. Download this firmware. https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s7/firmware/SM-G930F/ROM/download/G930FXXS8ETC3/327944/
2. Use Odin v3.14.4 to flash BL, AP, CP, CSC ( I used CSC not HOME CSC)
3. Boot phone and enable developer mode (not sure if necessary, but this is the way I did it)
4. Reboot to download mode and flash TWRP (uncheck auto reboot)
5. Immediately after flash, reboot to recovery (Power, Volume down, Home to reboot, then Power, Volume up, Home to enter TWRP)
6. Swipe to allow modifications
7. Wipe--> Advanced Wipe --> Select Data --> Repair or Change File System --> Change File System --> EXT2 --> go back --> and then EXT 4 --> back all the way to main screen.
8. Install --> latest version of Magisk
9. Install --> CSCSelection_V3.0.0.zip https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/utility-flashable-csc-selection-30-t3392957
10. Aroma --> Select XXA (Multi USA) --> Select XAA (Unbranded)
11. Reboot and wait to boot (Takes a few minutes)
12. Check in Connections --> Mobile Networks --> VoLTE Calls
That's it. Good luck!!
Oh yeah, Wifi calling is in the dialer app under settings, but I have had no luck with it, even though Mint Mobile supports it.
