hi guys i was wondering if anyone here is using the same kernel and rom as me and not getting much battery improvements.
I9100XXKI1
Kernel: 2.6.35.14-Siyah-2.2beta8
NÂș: RevHD3.1.1
Im only getting about 24h with midrange usage i think its a bit low dont you think? im a missing some kind of an update or need to install anything?
Any ideas guys?
I am also getting similar results. I use an app called battery juicer which helps with battery alot. ive been hearing that villian rom 3.0 is pretty great on battery but it is totally dependant on the user or course. i enjoy the HD revolution rom 3.1 , it is a great rom , very stable, works well with battery in comparisson to to stock and i love the apps that come when rom is initially installed suck as kitchen pro. More roms and updates will continue to improve so i would just wait a bit and im sure checkrom will update thier roms to have discusting battery life
kernal wise, i find that it is one of the best atm, i umderstand the battery issues because i dont get too much extra life but it is not to bad
I used to get about 24hours on my international version S4 running ICS while running a 3G connection, and a good amount of screen usage.
Ever since the JB update(i updated within 2 days of its release), battery life dropped to 9 hours max, and it has been incredibly difficult to live it.
I switched to TrickDroid 9.1 hoping for better battery life. I then turned off Google Now permanently but i am still not getting more than 9 hours of battery life.
Has my battery been spoilt completely? Has its life reduced because ive been running jelllybean for so long now ? Is there anything i can do to fix this ? Or has this got something to do with Sense 4+ ?

I got this phone (S3) with Jb already installed in it, so dont know the difference in battery timings with ICS or JB. But one thing is sure the battery life of this phone (seems with Jb, coz i read the same thing on some other forums as well) is quite poor. I also get less time on battery. Though i have auto sync on for some accounts like gmail, but still battery time shd not be that poor. Hopefully it will be resolved in some next updates. :S
Also i m facing sound issue (posted in other thread in this forum with Jb). Dont know whether this sound issue is only with few handsets or with all One S (having Jb).

What might be a solution for you both is installing a custom kernel
I'm running dark jelly cm10.1 rom in combination with bubba kernel v2.7, and with the right settings I get awesome battery life.
I can really reccomend switching to aosp rom like dark jelly in combo with this kernel.
Or check out xda forums for sense kernels to combine with trickdroid rom, like here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851841

The kernel you listed is for 4.0.4 based ROMs.
Anyway, i already have the kernel for TrickDroid.
I'll switch to a non-sense ROM and see if things get better.
Hope you all got the new update (small) which doesnt do much just a bug fix lol tho other phones or working on andriod 5.1 ours are still fixing bugs

Got only one info that is this update reduces heat/thermal algorithm improvement.
I wonder there has been a marginal battery life improvement(not sure though) as the earlier version 6.5.4.0 I felt that battery drain was high.
Thanks
Just my thought! I feel as if I'm getting more screen time with the same kind of usage after the 6.5.5.0 update. Shared my usage details here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=60970024
Battery (screen time)
The phone also seems slower than before. Maybe they've tweaked the cpu governor parameters to make it less aggressive, making it cooler but at the cost of snappiness.

Hit Thanks  if you found it useful!
Yes this update was mainly for the overheating issues from the above two comments it seems this is update is doing good and i agree on the screen time to maybe others should help by giving their reviews with the new update

I saw significant improvement in battery drain after the 6.5.5.0 update. Prev it used to drain approx 1% every 10-15 minutes on idle, now its quite stable and sticking up longer!

The nexus 5 is currently on stock and I haven't rooted it yet but I was wondering if I could partially or significantly increase battery life by rooting it. If I could what suggestions do you guys have? What works well for you?

best way to increase battery on stock 6.0.1 is to switch off wifi/bluetooth scanning in location settings, or buy a new battery like i just have
Hey guys, sup?
So, Today I updated my Galaxy J7 SM-J700M and the device looks good on marshmallow, runs smoothly (some apps take more time to load like settings, phone, mesages), but my battery is draining incredibly faster. In Lollipop, I made 20 hours per charge, using moderated, 14-16h in hard use. Now in Marshmallow update, in 2 hours my battery drain over 40%.
Anyone have the same issue? Any sugestion to solve this? I am disappointed with this update...
Welcome to the club ???
