[Completed] Best GSM phone for low price - XDA Assist

I have decided that I am going to make a move to use Straight Talk. Although supposedly there is a Nexus 6 (with a broken screen) available, I started looking at some of the Chinese offering. I would like to find a gsm phone (with AT&T radio and LTE if possible) that offers best features and not cost me the price of a Samsung 6 or Iphone 6. I would like to find something the is 6" and also able to use Android 5. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

[Completed] Galaxy S3 Neo vs LG L90 vs LG G2 Mini?

Hello, I am currently looking to get a new Android phone and these three, S3 Neo, L90 and G2 Mini are among my current favourites, and I am having trouble deciding. I need my phone to run apps smoothly, and to be able to hold a number of them unlike my current ZTE Blade G which started lagging after I installed only five or so apps. The availability of roms for the phones is not very relevant to me, I only want it to be able to update to Lollipop once that comes out. I would gladly accept any other recommendations in the same price range as those three.

[Completed] [Q] cheap replacement / party phone capable of cyanogenmod and still supported?

Hi there,
so recently my One M8 had to be repaired and I was stuck for days with an unbelievably slow xperia active from a friend. I thought, well if any day I could need a replacement phone, say for parties of just when I don't want to take the M8, what would I get? I would like it to be around iphone-4-size and easy to unlock and flash with cyanogenmod resp. still updated with new cyanogenmod versions. It should just run somewhat fluently and have a bit internal storage for the most important apps. What would you recommend?
First thing that came to my mind was a used galaxy s2. still a bit too expensive for my needs.

I'm planning to get one of the Chinese flagship phones over the internet, so I was wondering if you can recommend a model under 250$?

[Completed] need advice on a phone

I bought a quadcoptor recently which is designed to be used with a smart phone via 5.8ghz wifi in order to be able to see what the camera is pointed at. Unfortunately my current phone only has 2.4ghz wifi but Im fairly happy with it and Im not anxious to sign another contract with verizon so my question is this. Is there a phone that has 5.8ghz wifi on it that I could pick up from say ebay fairly cheap or will I end up spending enough money on it that I should just get something newer? Also what kind of range can I expect to get? the quad has a 100m range but Im pretty sure the wifi range will be a fair amount less than that.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
5.8ghz may have been chosen because of the range it can provide.
This will give you some background information on what to think about (depending on the route you go):

The members that frequent in this thread will be happy to narrow down some choices based on your criteria:

For the latter link (well, for anything beyond starting threads in the Assist section), you will need an XDA account to post.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

[Completed] is there a way to buy a mid range phone & convert to STOCK android

Hi
Good day folks
I've been an iPhone user for long. Presently I'm using an iPhone 6. I've been wanting to test an android. My search lead me to various forums where I was advised that stock android is the safest, least troublesome. With a budget of $250 - $ 300 (max Max) I was told Nexus 5x is an option. Ultimately adding shipping etc, 5x, 6 etc were above budget !
So, I'm here with the question, "...is there a way to buy a reasonable phone within $250-$275 budget (+$25 shipping) & convert to stock Android ? Which phone and how ? how easy / cumbersome ?
TIA for tips and experiences
PS : I'm new here, so IF this is the wrong forum, please direct me.
Regards
Subu
