I need to find out how to move files to my external sd card
Hi there,
Just use a file Explorer on the phone like ES File Explorer or Solid Explorer (and many more) and copy the files from Internal to external. Or connect to your PC and do what you want to do.
Good luck

hi ppl
i have the GT 2 7 16gb with the STOCK ROMS ICS 4.0.4 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838072 )
but i have a sd card with 8gb.
when i put the sd card in my tab it detects the card, but I can not access the files
i use the es file explorer...
is there any problem with the tab?
Rom?
SD Card?
i dont understand whats up :S
thanks for the help...
The sdcard is located at /extSdCard if you're browsing through files. If it isn't being shown, it is possible that it needs to be formatted, in which case, you would have to do it in a phone, or on a computer with an adapter. Do you know what format the microSD card was using for the filesystem?
im using the card on my htc hero, with ext4 with 900mb space to apps
but i want use that card in the tab...
maybe if format 'll be work...
ahh,,,and the card is 8gb class 4
sorry my bad english
with the apk File Expert it works...
now i have access to my files...
thought could have access with the es file explorer...
thanks for the help :highfive:
ES File explorer works too!
you have to set sdcard path to: /mnt/extSdCard
Hi
I am an xperia miro user(ICS). I updated framewire recenty to 5.8 and rooted my device. Now i am having issues with my external sd card. Es file explorer although it had been granted SU permissions isnt able to create a folder ( operation failed) or transfer any file from sd card to External Sd card. Tried another app called "Rootbrowser" with which i was able to create new folder in external sd card, but still cant write to the External sd card. I have already tried formating my External sd and also changing permissions which i saw on one of the forums here.
Nothing is working for me
I have tons of space left in my External sd card and i cant use it :crying:
Kindly help and solve this issue
Google blocks the Write ability for third party apps on Android 4.4 KitKat update for uncertain reason. File managers can’t access to SD card at all and lost the ability to manage external storage completely.
However people always find a way to solve problem, although the solution may not be super perfectly.
I recently update File Expert and find it restored the ability to manage external SD card.
Download app from Google Play and open to start. I notice my external SD Card is shown under Folder Tab.External SD Card is accessible and writable again in File Expert. Click to enter, choose a file and try all basic file operations, create, copy, cut, paste, rename, delete, edit and zip file within external SD card. File Expert completes all without any error.
You can even explore more available actions for External SD Card in File Expert. Like trying move a file from internal storage to SD card, sharing files on external sdcard with FTP, Web PC Suite it will be done perfectly, without any error.
What file manager do you use right now? Or is there any file manager can do more?
Hi there,
i have a strange problem with my Galaxy S7 and SD cards.
Galxy S7 SM-G930F unbranded, G930FXXU1BPLB unrooted
SD Card: Samsung Pro+ 128GB
I am using ES File Explorer, but also tried several other file managers.
When i try to move files from one folder to another folder ON the external sd card, it takes very long (depending on the filesize) i assume that the file is beeing copied and then deleted instead of just moving ist.
If transfering files from networkfolders to external, writespeed is not faster than 3 MB/s but to internal storage is almost 3 times faster. (WiFi 5GHz)
Moving files from external to interal storage is about 60MB/s an moving from interal to external is at about 28MB/s, so that looks ok to me.
I tried different sd cards, alwys the same issue. I dont know what to to do.
Any help out there?
Try Solid Explorer, i have the same card and moving large files from external to external is quick.

Click to collapse
hi lakicamm,
thank you for your reply, but i already tried solid explorer without luck.
Hmm i think root has something to do then, in solid explorer i always see that it granted root access when moving files on external sdcard.
Hey
With the new android update for this phone i can no longer browse to the sd card via the directory of device\
usually there is a link to the external sd card in device\storage but now its all empty there and i can only access the internal storage via Device\sdcard.
If i use a file browser like Es media then u can select the external sd card directly and access it. But the problem im having is when im in simple apps like ePSXe it wont let me reach the external sd card since i have to manually browse to it but there is no shortcuts to it anywhere. There was one app that allowed the full path to be manually added which worked since the folders are hidden or something.
Its like samsung have hidden the folders link to the external card.
Is there a way to create a shortcut from the internal storage that point to "device\storage\D8C7--9661" (which is my external sd card)?
