[Completed] Am I running a Stock Kernel or not? - XDA Assist

Hi,
I've rooted my Android device some time ago. And now I can't receive the Official Software Updates. I've found a App called "Triangle Away" to Flash the Status back to Official. But it says to make sure that you are running "Stock (Samsung) Kernel" or It'll brick the Device. So just want to make sure if I'm running on what it requires and without Bricking the device.
Device Info,
Name: Samsung S4
Model: GT-I9505
Android Version: 4.4.2
Status: Custom (Official before root)
AP: I9505XXUGNJ1
CP: I9505XXUGNJ1
CSC: I9505TNZGNJ1
If any more info is needed please ask.

Hi there,
Rooting your device only give acces to the root of your device, didn't change you kernel. But by rooting you will not receive any official updates.

[Completed] [Q] Return to stock kernel/firmware from CM11?

Cyanogenmod and its kernel has issues with bluetooth and since I use Pebble, I need to return to stock and root my Galaxy S4 (GTi9505) the usual way.
Problem is however, that all guides I find are only about flashing stock firmware, and not firmware and kernel.
I'm new to rooting and have been googling for a while trying to find an answer to if stock firmware includes stock kernel too.
Thanks!
Hi there,

Hello, and welcome to XDA! If you flash it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537495, then you should be fine, as it is designed specifically for your device version. Make sure you read the instructions carefully. For instructions to flash a rom, you can read this wiki: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Flashing_Guide_-_Android. Please not that you will need to upgrade your bootloader. For further help, you can register and ask here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/help.

[Completed] [Q] SAmsung S3 unrooting issue and flash reset not set to 0

Hi
I had my Samsung S3 phone accidentally reset by a child and in an attempt to try to recover data I rooted the phone.
Model Number: GT-I9300
Android version: 4.3
Baseband version: I9300DDUGNB1
Kernel version: 3.0.31-2363855
[email protected] #1
Fri Dec 27 20:00:26 KST 2013
Build number: JSS15J.19300XWUGML4
SE for Android status: Permissive
I dont remember what mistake I made while unrooting, I get to see the flash counter still reading as follows:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-I9300
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (1 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
Phone was bought in India. I am in Australia now.I need to get it back to stock and also make sure it is able to work with
apps which are used locally in Australia. Please help me with directions. I already bought Triangle Away but
it says that it requires root which is not currently there. Do I need to download custom binary and root it again
and then do an unroot? But I am scared that somewhere I read that devices with 4.3 come with the security
software Knox which doesn;t allow the counter to be reset though you unroot the phone. Help please..
