native tethering without root - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

I'm wondering if there is a rom, haven't found one yet, that has native tethering built it and possibly debloated, but doesn't have root. There are certain apps (airwatch) that I need for work that won't work if it detects the phone is rooted. Right now I'm the stock rom, and haven't updated, so I can flash a custom rom. Currently using foxfi to tether.

You need root to flash a rom. Try root cloak to hide root.

Root clock needs Xposed Framework which doesn't work on the S6

Nope, since we do not have available an unlocked bootloader yet. Once that's availble, you can install custom recoveries and custom ROMs. We're all waiting for that to happen, so join on in. Will take just a few weeks, as most think.

The new firmware will delete root access, but for now, you can just reroot by following the same procedure again. Do not forget to uninstall Superuser/Busybox/SuperSu/whatever other trace may remain, and reinstall from the Play Store as necessary, and you'll be fine.

How to enable In-Built root in COS 12.1

Hi,
Does anyone know how to enable in-built root in COS 12.1 ?
I can very well flash supersu, but what I have seen, flashing supersu also enables the "Root access" in Developer Options as well.
Is there a way to enable it directly from adb without having to flash supersu? I'm just trying to test the ROM with everything as stock as possible, and without root access, life is very tough.
Well you can flash the debuggable boot.img found somewhere in the firmwares thread, that will show the enable root option in development settings, but in my experience, it still wont work unless you flash superSU. Maybe someone knows more.
There is no built-in root in COS 12.1.
Cheers !! Thanks ..

Viper rom and android pay

Has anyone successfully been able to get android pay to work on viper rom? When i go back to stock rom and hide root i can get it to work. But when i try to add a card while on viper rom i cannot get it to work while hiding root through superuser or using an xposed module hidemyroot or root cloak.

S7 edge - systemless root + xposed + android pay

(posted previously in the wrong section)
Anyone using systemless root + xposed and android pay?
I was able to use systemless root with magisk v3 + phh superuser + systemless xposed without any problem however flashfire was not working since I cannot also make chainfire supersSU to work in s7 edge...
( releases after v3 up to v6 are not supporting well samsung - I verified though with the android version G935FXXU1BPH6 which also might be causing issues).
However after updating this version G935FXXU1BPH6 it seems to cause issues with TWRP and only boots to the last (twrp-3.0.2-3-hero2lte.img) and now I cannot go systemless at all because magisk v3 is not working aswell, root simply is not recognized.
SO basically now I'm using stock phone as I wanted to use android pay.... any ideas or anyone with any sucess?
im using v6 without problems. BUT you have to root with cfautoroot and unroot with superSU one time. i think that superSU changes something in boot.img that magisk needs to work ...
after that you have to use phh superuser.
pogo work
Flashfire will not
ok

This works fine as does systemless xposed etc. Did you pick the option to restore stock boot.img when you uninstalled SuperSU?
My banking apps can still detech phh's root. Wondering if the modified boot from SuperSU is the cause. Might just need to wait for Magisk V7 which shouldn't need this workaround.

Install xposed and KoalaCoak you don't need to be unrooted
That is only for ANZ and Westpac internet banking, not Android Pay? Is that correct? Have you got it working for Android Pay?
Cheers.

Read up on Magisk. Systemless Xposed is pointless as you can't bypass safetynet
If we get update and if we update.
Is it require to wipe data after flashing twrp?

Normal root modifies files on your system partition so that you can have root access. On stock firmware, this breaks dm-verity and causes you to fail SafetyNet checks making AndroidPay and some other apps no longer work. It also prevents you from taking OTA updates because it is no longer recognized as stock firmware. Even if you fully unroot, you will still not be able to take OTA updates because the phone "remembers" that you modified system files and fails dm-verity. The only way to get back to original firmware and take OTA updates is to reflash your entire firmware, wiping all user data in the process.
Systemless root works by intercepting files at the kernel level before the phone fully boots and replaces system files. Once the helper apps are installed you can pass the SafetyNet checks, but you will still not be able to receive OTA updates. The major benefit to systemless root is that you can reflash your stock boot.img (kernel) and your phone will be back to stock firmware, you will bass dm-verity and SafetyNet checks, and you can take OTA updates all without losing any user data. It is very easy to switch between systemless root and stock unrooted by simply flashing the necessary boot.img.
My guess is that since you're on a custom ROM you have normal root. To learn more about systemless root, take a look at Magisk.
Thanks very much bro, yeah I guess I'm on normal root since I can't use android pay and can't download some apps protected by safetynet.
Either way next time I root my phone I'll try systemless method

No, you are on systemless if you use slimx.
Are you sure ? I don't want to try some risky method to know

You can't have custom kernel and use android pay, just forget about it.
