[Completed] [Q] Problem: trying to root a Samsung galaxy mini 2 [newbie]

Hi,
I'm new in the world of android rom and root!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 (S6500XXLK2) and I want to root it to try to install a kitkat rom.
I followed many different methods to root it but none with success.
I'm starting to think that there is an hardware problem becuase I'm not able to connect the device to kies, neither to odin. If I use Kingo root it doesn't recognize it.
The strange thing is that if I connet it to my linux pc I can connect via usb and I am able to access the device as a memory storage.
Any ideas?

i tried many rom on my galaxy s4 gt-I9505. now now there is no sound comig from the phone and headphone are not being connected pls help

Maybe that can help in your case already.
If not, please ask in the [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S4 | Ask any question | Noob friendly. thread.
There are many experienced users having the same device like you ... so best chances to get quick and proper help.

Unfortunately I don't think such a thing exists. With a quick search i found this one:

That's just a rooted stock ROM though. Unfortunately low-end devices such as this rarely receive any attention from developers. You can keep an eye out in this section though:

Samsung Galaxy J1 ACE

Dear all,
Thank you first of all to assist me with the below issues i m encountering
Phone Model: Samsung galaxy J1 ACE - SM-J110H
Android version 4.4.4 kernel version 3.10.17
I want to upgrade the it to a higher version Root and update from 4.4.4 to 5.1.1 or highe as i m not able to have comptabible app such as Press reader.
Please explain the steps to me to follow to be able to have an updated phoned with compatible application
