Undervolt Kernel? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Are there any kernels for 5.1.1 that can undervolt or underclock this phone?

Mine SimplKernel hehe

Ah right. Did have yours installed but was unable to alter the voltages using trickster app. Am i missing something obvious then?

Vindicator kernel, then use ktweaker for tune up

[Kernel] [32A] HoFo Cursor 1.0 Update [01-27-10]

I've tweaked the kernel from the CursorSense ROM; it is my favourite ROM. My intention is to make it faster and to increase battery life. The ROM only supports FAT partitions. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Version 1.0: http://www.4shared.com/file/208581550/6a414d48/HoFo-Cursor-10.html
To install it, just run it as a regular update after you install the CursorSense ROM.

Thanks for the effort hotweiss! I will try this and give feedback.
Installed it. I really don't know how you can tell if the difference is significant or not. All what I can say is that there is no delay at all on anything. I also adb the new Rosie from another user. So now I have CursorSense 1.2.2 with new rosie and this new update. Good job and thanks for sharing your work everybody.

Will this allow things apps like OverclockWidget to modify the CPU scaling? Someone mentioned that something in the Kernel was blocking it.
Is there a way to enable back the swap from cursor's kernel ?

The CPU frequency is still using PERFLOCK settings, so I really don't think and CPU throttling software will work.
Why do you need it anyway? Under normal use, PERFLOCK settings are the same as SetCPU...
I've just installed new CS 1.2.2 + your kernel + I removed some apps from the rom and... I don't know whether it's new CS or your kernel but everything seems little smoother (although it already was smooth before)
so thanks both to you and cursor for your astonishing work.
btw. I hope your kernel will also improve my battery life time a little bit 'coz now it's shorther than it used to be.
Tested the Kernel, and I find it difficult to say if there is any real improvment in speed.
Cursor has done a awesome job developing his CursorSense ROM, so I have reinstalled his ROM and Kernel.
Anybody know a way to get some benchmark to measure if there is any performance improvement?

Maybe kernel RC8 solved the problem ?
Hi Sakindia,
don't want to be too pushy but on my investigations for a solution concerning the charging problem in the original cradle maybe you have a solution. I figured out that all open source kernels suffer from the same problem as mentioned here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11854684&postcount=1
Maybe it is possible to reintegrate the mentioned modul without loosing the advantages of the cranium kernel

i lose around 3% on 6 hours idle with 122 min freq and smartassV2. most importantly there is no wakelock and no lag.
UPDATE: last night i lose only 1% for 6 1/2 hours (sleep time). i use ondemand this time, i think its better compare with smartass, gonna stick with ondemand

Galaxy Y Stock Kernel compiled from source

Hello Guys, I would like to present you my first SGY kernel which I have compiled from source. This is only for Stock or Stock based ROMs.
Features :
1) Loads of governors like userspace, ondemand, powerspace, conservative etc. so that users will not get biased towards only one configuration
2) I/O schedulers like noop and cfq with cfq as a default scheduler
3) Max frquency 832 Mhz and min frequency 312 which I found the best in terms of battery and performance because Overclocking decreases the life of Phone.
I am currently lookoing forward to add Extra I/O Schedulers although cfq is best out there with Conservative governors in my opinion. CPU underclocking will be in my roadmap as well. I hope you guys will appreciate me.
Steps for Installing/Flashing :
1) First reboot into recovery and flash any CWM recovery(Note: don't flash it through stock recovery directly)
2) Go to mounts/Storage and mount everything system,cache,sd-card
3) Now flash the Zip I have provided
4) Now Wipe cache partition from Main menu
5) from Advanced option-> wipe dalvik cache and reboot
I have tested it myself. Please report in case you guys run into any issues.
Credits :
To me Of course

Hello,
According to XDA Rule on GPL and Apache Compilence
For kernel developers: You must provide FULL source code, not just the edits you made (reference here). Your source code must also be up-to-date with any binary releases. If in doubt, update your github first, then release the binary, NOT the other way round.

the stuff you have provided on your github is only the kernel.
You have to upload the whole source code you've used while compiling this kernel.Do it ASAP if you didnt knew it.Or your thread will be closed soon.
Take this as a suggestion :good:

Thanks for your suggestion brother. This is my first contribution, that's why i wasn't aware of it. Do you mean the Samsung open source update which i have used to compile it ?
can you guide me how exactly i need to update it ?
deep sleep is present in stock kernel too.
only states files is not enabled/present.
if cpu spy is displaying freq. usage and deepsleep is notshowing up then there is some problem.
else by default its enabled in stock kernel.

its says- states file not found.
kernel is not compatible with that app cz freq. states file is disabled by default.
but deepsleep is enabled in kernel.
also the kernel u build is having old source.
latest kernel from samsung in update like dxmj is best n having many changes.
just add init.d support in it and compare the battry life with ur kernel.
and that stock one is far more stable than urs.
no offense
but untill and unless u add some more features in it, stock kernel will still be my preferred choice.
add more featrs into it to make it better than stock one.

[KERNEL][Z1C] UNOFFICIAL RockZ1L Kernel [Stock Lollipop .236]

About RockZ1L : http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/5-0-rockz1l-kernel-t3101784
This is a personal build of rockz1l with some modifications :
* Bump kernel version to 3.4.110 (include most patches from upstream)
* Add UKSM(Ultra Kernel Same-page Merging), better than the original KSM approach.
* Add f2fs support. You can follow this tutorial to convert your partitions to f2fs : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...rial-migrate-filesystem-to-f2fs-ext4-t3004755
* Add sdcardfs support
* Enable TCP Hybla
* Modified and built with Hyper Linaro ARM-EABI 5.1
* Add cifs and nfs modules
* Replace tuxera exfat with exfat-nofuse (the module fakes itself as a texfat module)
* Add Paragon UFSD
* Disable vermagic check for kernel modules
The kernel is for stock lollipop rom. Only tested on 14.6.A.1.236

Are other signs of the kernel showing up, (additional governors, etc.)? Maybe it's just not flashing right.

Never heard of it... I know that the original Rockz1 kernel comes with an app called 'pimp my Z1c' or something like that. Maybe you could pull the app out of the zip and install it, see if it shows anything different.
